The Seoul Subway is one of the most heavily used Subway System in the world. It provides reliable transportation services, conveys nearly 4 million Passengers across 117 subway stations with a length of 134.9 Km. Over the years the safety for the Subway has been a major concern, trains going off the track, equipment failure, careless operation, Signal failure are increasing day by day. In a Recent Public opinion 40% said the causes to above facts are Vehicle breakdown because of Operators, Old rail defect, Quality of material. 20% of the opinion said the obstacles were because of Operation, crew carelessness, negligence in signal operation. In case of any accident the crew members cannot resolve the issue on site (Aid insufficiency), because of lack of knowledge and carelessness. The main obstacles for Subway are vehicle breakdown, Electric equipment failure, Signal Equipment failure, and Crew carelessness. This paper aims to provide major problems which are needed to be solved as quickly as possible for citizen's safety for a comfortable subway system making a comfortable ride and providing better service gradually.

Yearly, it seems the fact that the numbers of tunnels with wide sections are on the rise as the length of tunnel and number of lanes continues increasing. According to these trends, well-schemed plans of design, construction and management related with tunnel safety has become to be crucial. It is a high possibility to be observed by the fact that the direct effects of casualties and property damages are caused by the situations of car collisions, bump to solid structures by careless driving and the outbreak on vehicles by mechanical fault. Therefore, in order to prevent these types of accidents, we would make issues md adopt appropriate mechanical and management plans of emergency exits and disaster prevention equipments inside of tunnel, based on up-to dated experiences and study of foreign cases, to structural design technology. The objectives of this study are to recognize related actual problems and suggest improvement plans.

Purpose : This study was performed to develop a scale of outdoor school safety behavior in Korean elementary students. Methods : A list of 40 items were selected by priori experiences of school health teachers and a literature review. For evaluation of the appropriateness of the 32 items, questionnaires were reviewed by an expert group which was consisted of 10 professionals. Validity of the 31 items was screened in this process with 4 point Likert scale. Using the preliminary tool. data were collected from 684 subjects for item analysis and factor analysis. A total of 26 items were remained, and items with the lower than 0.2 item-total correlation coefficient were removed. Factor analysis was done with these 26 items, and 26 items with factor loadings higher or equal to 0.4 were remained. Relsult : 1. Cronbach's alpha for the 26 items was 0.70 2. Five factors were identified with eigen value 1.0 These contributed $51.617\%$ of the variance in the total score. 3. Each factor was labled 'vonobserbance of safety rule', 'good habit for safety', 'careless action', 'lack of safety knowledge', 'injurious action to friend' It is suggested that this scale could be used to measure outdoor school safety behaviors among elementary students in Korea.

This paper has been developed a millimeter-wave radar to prevent car collision. This system needs to progress the problem as follows; (1) Increase of traffic accidents causing damage and injuries due to the increased number of motor vehicles and long distance driving, (2) Need for a device to help drivers who are in trouble due to bad weather conditions. (3) Need for a millimeter-wave radar as obstacles which need to be detected are small. This system is composited with some major technologies, Narrow beams to recognize obstacles or other objects, One-side circuit technology to prevent interference between electric waves, and Parts designed for radar products which are able to transmit millimeter - waves. The system has a various a application Field, Car distance auto-control system, prevent bump collision due to unexpected stoppage of the front car or careless driving, obstacle warning system, Car following system, and industrial and military purposes system. We have a looking forward to propose to develop field tests under various road conditions and hybrid car sensor by combining with other sensors

This paper is based on the study to reduce a system panic state. A panic state could be caused by a programmer or an administrator's careless mistake. The proposed hardening Operating System of this paper stops the process which is running in the kernel with an error. The error process for the value type and the address type of a certain variable have to be restored. Installed with kernel hardening, Operating System checks the recovery possibility of the process first and then restores the process which can be recovered. When it is possible to recover the kernel code with an error, it is to be recovered in ASSERT() function.

Due to increased demand for remodeling and repair in construction market in recent year, the usage of horse scaffold is increasing in the indoor finish works. Injuries related horse scaffold are mainly caused by poor installation or of careless handling of scaffold. Approximately 300 workers are injuried at construction site every year, it is accounting for about 1.5% of the total construction sector and has increased on a year-to-year trends. But the main contents between national standards and speccifications related to the manufacture and usage of horse scaffolds are mutually inconsistent, In particular, the rules on occupational safety and health standards are the basis for the prevention of industrial injuries, there is no explicit application being made to the horse scaffold commonly used on construction sites. The purpose of this study was to analye the manufacture and usage situations in order to reduce construction injuries that occur at the horse scaffolds. It will be utilized the results of the analysis as the basis data for unifying the major domestic standards and specifications associated with the manufacture and usage of horse scaffold.

In this paper, marine casualties occurred in Korean coastal and near-coastal seas, from 1989 to 1993, were analysed. The main results obtained were as follows : 1. According to the numerical component ratio of marine casualties, fishing vessels account for higher portion than other vessels and passenger vessels lower portion. On the other hand, in view of the occurring ratio of that, fishing vessels account for very low rate of accidents and passenger vessels very high rate. 2. Most of marine casualties resulted from the human factors such as careless operation and insufficient engine maintenance, etc. Collision accidents took a majority of all marine accidents in all of vessels, but engine trouble accounted for main cause of accidents in fishing vessels. 3. In view of the results on classifying marine casualties into time zone, great number of accidents took place in dawn, but that of fishing vessels in forenoon. 4. According to the view of the occurring ratio of the injury, the rate was 0.33% in total vessels and 0.18% in fishing vessels. 5. In view of the marine casualties by age and shipboard career, crews with 10~20 years shipboard career raised more marine accidents than others.

Dent resistance is an important characteristic to avoid damage on automotive outer panels. From a practical point of view, dents can be caused in a number of ways. Considering doors as an example, denting can occur from stone impacts or from the careless opening of an adjacently parked vehicle door. Denting can occur where the door surface is smooth and may not have sufficient curvature to resist dent. These exterior body parts are designed to improve dent resistance using a combination of work hardening and bake hardening. In brief, dent is affected by the shape of the parts and the material properties such as yield strength, strain and thickness. In this work, forming of door outer panel is investigated by Taguchi method. Main parameters are yield strength, thickness, blank size, blank holding force and so on. For the given value of design parameters, forming analysis of the eighteen cases are carried out according to L18 orthogonal array. After comparing the performance by simple conversion of simulation results into dent resistance, the final suggestion of the forming parameters is verified for the optimal improvement of dent resistance.

Dairy products eatable instantly have lots of nutriment, but on the other hand they are susceptible to putrefy with careless. Therefore, dairy products should be implemented the critical control points to produce both standard good qualities and hygiene ones without the contamination of hazards, because they could not been produced the perfect products only with ISO 9000 application like other industry. The application of HACCP system for dairy products produced domestically is important to certify hygiene quality and safety. It is necessary to examine regular inspection for the persistent maintenance of HACCP system. If environmental changes and improvement of manufacture facilities by expansion of new system in factory turn shift into HACCP plan, then, it is persistently accomplished the supplementation of deficiency for new hazard analysis through the periodical inspection. So far, HACCP system is mainly applied in dairy plants. If farms producing milk directly set up a sanitary plan, it can also practice sanitary control from farm to table in our country. The only dairy products produced in these conditions can be compatible to ones of other countries, they can be provided consumers over forty million with reliable foods, and contributed to the improvement of public health.

June 1, 2004, National Emergency Management Agency was established, and one of its aims is to reduce the percentage of accident occurrence and damage scale to that of developed countries in 10 years. In this paper, Korea is compared with Japan in the view of actual conditions of accident occurrence in order to compare Korea with developed countries. In the case .of Korea, traffic accidents, fire accidents, careless accidents, drowning accidents, climbing accidents occur frequently. Decreasing these accidents is a major target to reduce the accident occurrence. Also, home accidents of babies and elders who are unable to avoid dangers are frequent. Studies focusing on those related accidents are required.
