This study was investigated on the recycle feasibility of the waste AC(Ammonium Carbonate) solution produ-ced in a commercial AUC(Ammonium Uranyl Carbonate) conversion plant. AUC particles were produced with the AC solution which was prepared with AC solid-agent instead of ammonia and carbon-dioxide gases. As the results particles of monoclinic shapes has been obtained regardless of the pH change if the carbonate concentration is sufficient in the mother liquore. Also a lot of twinned or aggregated particles were formed in case of the increase of pH in the reaction system but not affected in the change of temperature. Consequen-tly the characteristics of the particles which converted for AUC were produced withAC solution to UO2, particles specific surface area shape sintered density and others were similar to that of the particles which were produced with gases only when the pellets are fabricated in the nuclear fuel manufacturing process So the waste AC solution which is produced in the commercial AUC conversion plant is possible to recycle.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the most abundant component of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and directly creates environmental issues such as global warming and climate change. Carbon capture and storage have been proposed mainly to solve the problem of increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere; however, more emphasis has recently been placed on its use. Among the many methods of using CO2, one of the key environmentally friendly technologies involves biologically converting CO2 into other organic substances such as biofuels, chemicals, and biomass via various metabolic pathways. Although an efficient biocatalyst for industrial applications has not yet been developed, biological CO2 conversion is the needed direction. To this end, this review briefly summarizes seven known natural CO2 fixation pathways according to carbon number and describes recent studies in which natural CO2 assimilation systems have been applied to heterogeneous in vivo and in vitro systems. In addition, studies on the production of methanol through the reduction of CO2 are introduced. The importance of redox cofactors, which are often overlooked in the CO2 assimilation reaction by enzymes, is presented; methods for their recycling are proposed. Although more research is needed, biological CO2 conversion will play an important role in reducing GHG emissions and producing useful substances in terms of resource cycling.
Thermodynamic analysis on carbon dioxide reforming of methane was performed using a computer program which can handle condensed species in the products, and the reforming experiments were conducted over $Al_2O_3$, $La_2O_3$, ZSM-5, MCM-41, KIT-1 supported nickel catalysts, and a commercial ICI 46-1. It was estabished that a system which consists of $CH_4$, $CO_2$, CO, $H_2$, $H_2O$, and C is appropriate for theoretical equilibrium calculations and addition of water vapor or oxygen was found to diminish the contribution of carbon dioxide in reforming. Silicate molecular sieve-supported catalysts such as Ni/ZSM-5, Ni/MCM-41, Ni/KIT-1 were effective for high $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ conversions as well as for high CO yield. Coke formation was suppressed when CaO was added as a promoter. Ni/Ca/KIT-1 which contains 10% Ni with 3% Ca showed conversion approaching equilibrium levels above $650^{\circ}C$ and maintained constant activity over 20 h. Despite increased space velocity, relatively high conversion and CO yield were observed.

The amount of biogas increases as the amount of organic waste increases. Recently, biogas from organic waste have been made much efforts to utilize as a energy. In particular, the concentration of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ generated from sewage sludge and livestock manure treatment are 60-70% and 30-35%, and $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ generated from food wastes are 60-80% and 20-40%. In case of landfill gas, $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ have a concentration of 40-60% and 40-60% respectively. Therefore, in order to use the biogas more widely, it is necessary to convert the biogas to methanol, LNG or DME. In this study, experiments were conducted to produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide through various biogas reforming reactions on $Ni/Ce-ZrO_2/Al2O3$ catalysts. The experiment of synthetic gas synthesis was carried out on a wide concentrations of methane and carbon dioxide, which were the major constituents of biogas from various organic wastes. The effect of $(O_2+CO_2)/CH_4$ (=R') on the yields of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, the conversion rate of methane and carbon dioxide was investigated. Also simulation for syngas synthesis on the $CO_2$ reforming of $CH_4$ was computed by employing total Gibbs free energy minimization method using PRO/II simulator, and compared with the experimental results on wet and dry reforming reaction of biogas.

This paper presents an integrated photochemical reaction system (i.e., an artificial leaf) that uses earth-abundant catalysts for artificial photosynthesis with a carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) fixation process. The performance of the system was investigated in terms of the energy capture and conversion capabilities. A wireless configuration was achieved by directly doping cobalt oxide as an oxygen-evolving catalyst for water splitting reaction on the illuminated surface of photovoltaic (PV) cell, as well as molybdenum disulfide ($MoS_2$) as an efficient catalyst for $CO_2$ reduction on the back substrate surfaces of the PV cell. The system produces hydrogen and carbon monoxide (CO) as sustainable fuels (i.e., synthesis gas) at around 4.5% efficiency, which implies more than 75% catalytic efficiency at the cathode. The process of solar-driven $CO_2$ conversion and water-splitting reaction is contained in one system, which is one step closer to the successful realization of artificial photosynthesis.

Power to gas (P2G) is one of the energy storage technologies that can increase the storage period and storage capacity compared to the existing battery type. One of P2G technology produces hydrogen by decomposing water from renewable energy (electricity) and the other produces CH4 by reacting hydrogen with CO2. This study is an experimental study to produce CH4 by reacting CO2 of biogas with hydrogen using a 40 wt% Ni-Mg-Al catalyst and a commercial catalyst. Catalyst characteristics were analyzed through H2-TPR, XRD, and XPS instruments of 40% Ni catalyst and commercial catalyst. The effect on the CO2 conversion rate and CH4 selectivity was analyzed, and the activities of a 40% Ni catalyst and a commercial catalyst were compared. As a result of experiment, In the case of a 40 wt% catalyst, the maximum CO2 conversion rate showed 77% at the reaction temperature of 400℃. Meanwhile, the commercial catalyst showed a maximum CO2 conversion rate of 60% at 450℃. When 50% of CO was added to the CO2 methanation reaction, the CO2 conversion rate was increased by about 5%. This is considered to be due to the atmosphere in which the CO reaction can occur without the process of converting to CH4 after forming carbon and CO as intermediates in terms of the CO2 mechanism on the catalyst surface.
The installation of light oil facilities or delayed cokers seems to be inevitable in the oil refinery industry due to the heavy crude oil reserves and the increased use of light fuels as petroleum products. Petroleum coke is a byproduct of oil refineries and it has higher fixed carbon content, higher calorific value, and lower ash content than coal. However, its sulfur content and heavy metal content are higher than coal. In spite of disadvantages, petroleum coke might be one of promising resources due to gasification processes. The gasification of petroleum coke can improve economic value of oil refinery industries by handling cheap, toxic wastes in an environment-friendly way. In this study, $CO_2$ gasification reaction kinetics of petroleum coke, various coals and mixing coal with petroleum coke have investigated and been compared by using TGA. The kinetics of $CO_2$ gasification has been performed with petroleum coke, 3 kinds of bituminous coal [BENGALLA, White Haven, TALDINSKY], and 3 kinds of sub-bituminous coal [KPU, LG, MSJ] at various temperature[$1100-1400^{\circ}C$].
Lipase-catalyzed esterification of structural butanol isomers and n-butyric acid was investigated in supercritical carbon dioxide. The experiments were performed in a high pressure cell for 5 hrs with a stirring rate of 150 rpm at 323.15 K and 130 bar. The Candida Antarctica lipase B (CALB) was used in whole system as a catalyst. The experimental results were analyzed by GC-FID using a INNOWax capillary column. The conversion yield and the tendency of the esterification in supercritical carbon dioxide were compared with estimated results by molecular dynamics simulation. Based on the Ping-Pong Bi-Bi mechanism with competitive inhibition, each step of the reaction was optimized; using this result the transition state was predicted. Conformational preference of isomers was also analyzed using molecular dynamics simulations. This kind of approach will be further extended to the prediction of enzyme-catalyzed reactions using computers.

In this study, we investigated the characteristics of the process of hydrogen production using boil-of gas (BOG) generated from an LNG-fueled ship and the application of hydrogen fuel cell systems as auxiliary engines. In this study, the BOG steam reformer process was designed using the UniSim R410 program, and the reformer outlet temperature, pressure, and the fraction and consumption of the product according to the steam/carbon ratio (SCR) were calculated. According to the study, the conversion rate of methane was 100 % when the temperature of the reformer was 890 ℃, and maximum hydrogen production was observed. In addition, the lower the pressure, the higher is the reaction activity. However, higher temperatures have led to a decrease in hydrogen production owing to the preponderance of adverse reactions and increased amounts of water and carbon dioxide. As SCR increased, hydrogen production increased, but the required energy consumption also increased proportionally. Although the hydrogen fraction was the highest when the SCR was 1.8, it was confirmed that the optimal operation range was for SCR to operate at 3 to prevent cocking. In addition, the lower the pressure, the higher is the amount of carbon dioxide generated. Furthermore, 42.5 % of the LNG cold energy based on carbon dioxide generation was required for cooling and liquefaction.
