This paper discusses the design and implementation of a human-oriented interface based on computer vision that efficiently controls presentation slides. The user does not have to be confined to a keyboard or mouse any more, and can move around more freely because slides for presentation can be up and down using a general laser pointer that is used for presentation. Regions for virtual buttons are set on the slide so that the user can conveniently point the buttons using the laser pointer. We have proposed a simple and efficient method that computes the button areas in the image without complicated calibration. The proposed method has been implemented based on Microsoft PowerPoint ; moreover it can be applied to other PowerPoint-like presentation softwares. Our method for human-centered slide control enables the user to give audiences a more interactive presentation in a natural way.
With the growing number of people using bicycle, the number of bicycle accidents also has been increasing. It is said that bicycle accident can be reduced up to 11%~44% when riding a bicycle if LED light is used. The headlight of the bicycle makes exposure effect to the opposite side of bike rider while taillight makes exposure effect to the rear bike rider for improving safety. Bicycle safety device capable of displaying a change of direction by LED is implemented in this study in response to control button signal. This signal makes LED light which is installed in pedal and wheel of bicycle as a module type emitting or flickering during the fixed hour. Bicycle auxiliary device in pedal which is able to improve safety using LED when bikers are riding a bike at night is developed in this study. Bicycle safety device applying wireless communication technology will be expected alternative technology in the future to solve a social problem such as energy, environment, and safety.
In this paper, an USB-OTG (Uiversal Serial Bus On-the-go) interface module was designed with the iris information for personal identification. The image recognition algorithm which was searching face and iris areas, was proposed with pixel differences from eye blinking after several facial images were captured and then detected without any activities like as pressing the button of smart phone. The region of pupil and iris could be fast involved with the proper iris area segmentation from the pixel value calculation of frame difference among the images which were detected with two adjacent open-eye and close-eye pictures. This proposed iris recognition could be fast processed with the proper grid size of the eye region, and designed with the frame difference between the adjacent images from the USB-OTG interface with this camera module with the restrict of searching area in face and iris location. As a result, the detection time of iris location can be reduced, and this module can be expected with eliminating the standby time of eye-open.
This study is aimed to compare choices on interaction problems, and to consider the reason of the choices. It was expected that the interaction problems are influenced from national culture, age, gender and so on. The first interaction problem in this study is default answer button when user operates to delete all messages on SMS in-box. Second one is action when pop-p window warning dangerousness of install showed on web browsing. The third one is type(analog/digital) and information expression of control panel on soup maker. 639 Korean data and 784 data from China, Japan and the Netherlands are analyzed through cross-tabulation and chi-square test. In the results, many Japanese choose 'No' answer at SMS delete problem, while many Dutch choose 'Yes'. The result suggests that uncertainty avoidance effect on interaction problems. On warning pop-up, Younger generation and men choose actively 'install' than older one and women. On type of control panel, Dutch subjects preferred analog type than other countries' subjects. On expression of control panel, older generation and individualistic subjects relatively preferred text style than other style.

In addition, because it uses preheating to dissolve an alloy in general, it is hard to regulate the appropriate melting temperature of the alloy and brewing time and shows the defect of the supplementation thing due to the super-heating. Once the alloy is molten and then most of the casting by attaching a sight glass or non-contact temperature sensor is suitable casting temperature the operator pressing a button to generate a centrifugal force to inject the molten alloy into a crucible in the casting ring. These results, and most of the cast temperature is too high or too low to generate a lot of casting defects do not get into a uniform cast body. In this paper, we developed a dental casting machine for high frequency using a single temperature sensor which can measure the actual temperature of the alloy than the temperature of the external non-contact measurement using a temperature sensor.
This paper describes the design guideline, methodology and general specification of the developed 12 channel interpretive electrocardiograph. The developed 12 channel electrocardiograph consists of main module, patient module, DSP module, interface module, power/battery module, TFT color LCD and thermal recorder. The control panel of the system has full keyboard, rotate/push button, function key and unctional indicators. The graphic user interface program conveniently allows user to record, setup, store, manage ECGs. A variety of system configurations give it ability to make user favorable environment. This system also has a resting adult's ECG analysis program. The developed system and program will be continusely evolved using a database of clinically correlated ECGs.
This study is considered about the fabrics of the tomb of King Muryeong at the Baekje(百濟) Period. First, there were silk fabrics such as compound woven silk(錦), twill damask(綾), complex gause(羅) and plain weaved silk(平絹). All of compound woven silk(錦) are the warp-faced compound tabby(經錦) of plain weave and the density is various from high to low one. The twill damask(綾) was a variation of twill damask weaved with a six strand warp thread. The complex gause(羅) made patterns as a set of 2 strand, 4 strand, 6 strand and 8 strand warp threads are weaved alternately with the weft. There were three kinds of plain weaved silk(平絹). The first was weaved densely without space between strands. The second was weaved with a small space between strands. And the third was weaved with a two strand warp thread, having a space between the threads. On the other hand, several pieces of well preserved ramie cloth were excavated. Of the, the densest one has the density of 125 strand/inch for the warp and the weft. In addition, strings made of flax thread were found. This suggests that flax fabrics may be found additionally if the hardened lumps of fabrics are resolved and analyzed. Other materials discovered include knits, knotted strings, embroideries, threads and floss. Pieces considered knits and knotted strings occupy a large part of fabrics excavated from King Muryeong's Tomb, and in particular knotted strings show various knotting methods. In addition, embroideries such as chain stitch and button hole stitch are clearly observed. What is more, there are silk threads and hemp threads, which are presumed to have been used for dangling ornaments such as Yeongrak(瓔珞) and beads or for sewing. Besides, floss was found between fabrics.
A purpose of this study is to do fundamental research of construction of coat patterns in the Daehan Empire in order to make replicas of the costumes. This study is composed of literature research, investigation of artifacts, and experiment of pattern making. The results of this study are as follows. First, even if the 15th Court Dress Rules regulated color, fabric, number of flower, width of braid, and size of button, there was no regulation regarding the shape of the coat. The analysis of the photos in those periods shows that the style of the tailcoat was different from that of today in the length of the front, the shape of breast and collar. Second, six artifacts in the collection showed that the shoulder line and the sideline were located on the further rear side than the current tailcoat. This can be confirmed in the western and Japanese pattern book, and especially the pattern drafting method in the books published in Japan in 1900s is different from current one in setting base lines of front bodice and back bodice. As a result, based on several experiments, this study proposes how to make coat patterns. The shoulder line, the sideline, and the princess line should be located in the back of the dress similar to the shape of swallowtail coats of 1900s. The front bodice should be constructed without the composition line in order to add embroidery on it. The collar, which shape looks like long half moon, should form V-shape neckline in the front breast when adjusting dress. The sleeves should be constructed top and down, and it should curve more than the modern design.
Objective: We developed a Motor-Assisted Rowing Machine (MARM) for Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), by modification of the Concept II rowing machine, so that the seats could be operated automatically in a backward and forward direction by a motor. Design: Case report. Methods: Motor rowing consisted of a chair with inclination control, a motor system, control button, monitor, program, leg supporter, safety belt, and seat. The patients were 2 men rowing athletes with SCI, classified as American Spinal Injury Association class B, participated in the study. Level of thoracic injury ranged from T8 to T10. The subjects rowed at a self-selected stroke rate with 50 watts. Two different rowing methods (static rowing without movement of the seat, dynamic rowing using MARM) were assigned to each participant during 10 minutes; 34 reflective markers were attached to their full bodies. Kinematic data were collected using the Vicon motion analysis system. Based on the full body model provided as a default by the equipment. In the rowing exercise, the rowing motions were divided into Drive Phase and Recovery Phase. Results: The two rowing methods differ in handle range, seat range, handle and seat ratio, handle velocity, and seat velocity during static and dynamic rowing. The rowing exercise using a rowing machine developed MARM increased tendency to the range of motion in the dynamic method compared to the static method. Conclusions: The newly developed MARM could be a useful whole body exercise for people with SCI.
The augmented reality (AR) has recently became an attractive technology in construction industry, which can play a critical role in realizing smart construction concepts. The AR has a great potential to help construction workers access digitalized information about design and construction more flexibly and efficiently. Though several AR applications have been introduced for on-site made to enhance on-site and off-site tasks, few are utilized in actual construction fields. This paper proposes a new AR framework that provides on-site managers with an opportunity to easily access the information about construction resources such as workers and equipment. The framework records videos with the camera installed on a wearable AR device and streams the video in a server equipped with high-performance processors, which runs an object detection algorithm on the streamed video in real time. The detection results are sent back to the AR device so that menu buttons are visualized on the detected objects in the user's view. A user is allowed to access the information about a worker or equipment appeared in one's view, by touching the menu button visualized on the resource. This paper details implementing parts of the framework, which requires the data transmission between the AR device and the server. It also discusses thoroughly about accompanied issues and the feasibility of the proposed framework.
