Development of a System for Selecting High-Quality Mold Manufacturing NC Data Using Evaluating the NC Data (NC 데이터 정량화를 통한 고품질 사출금형 NC 가공데이터 선정 방안)

  • Since mold industries are regarded as belonging to three types of bad business, capable young people are reluctant to work in this field. The industries are hard to employ skilled workers who have much experience and knowledge On the mold manufacturing. Thus, effective CAM systems are required for unskilled workers to create process plans and NC data for the manufacturing, and process plans play important roles in the downstream manufacturing processes, such as NC machining, polishing, and final assembly. This study proposes a decision support system that facilitates unskilled workers to easily select high quality NC-data, as well as to increase productivity. The proposed system is assumed to follow a CAM operation scenario that consists of next three steps: 1) identifying several process plans and enumerating feasible unit machining operations (UMOs) from material and part surface information, 2) creating all feasible NC-data based on UMOs using a commercial CAM system, 3) selecting the best NC data among the feasible NC data using four screening criteria, such as machining accuracy, machining allowance, cutting load, and processing time. A case study on the machining of a camera core mold is provided to demonstrate the proposed system.

Evolutional Process of Economic Integration In The U. S. Broiler Industry (미국브로일러산업의 경제통합전개과정)

  • The purpose of the study is to review the evolutional process of the U.S. broiler industry into the integrated production and marketing systems and to examine the factors influenced such a structural change over the Past half a century. The study is also carried out under the consideration that the experience gained by the integrated U.S. broiler industry could be utilized in applying the system to any non-integrated broiler industries like one in Korea. The U.S. broiler industry has been prevailed in the typical independent operation of all stages, from factor supply through growing to dressing and marketing until such time as growers began to suffer from financial difficulties right after the end of the World Wat II due mainly to lowered price of broilers stemmed from whopping decrease of the demand, which eventually reflected to the allied agribusiness sectors. The feed business field was the first reactor to this situation so that a kind of measures was taken to cope with the problems faced in such a way to provide extended credit on feeds first and help obtain chicks or sell broilers later. This trend has been practiced for broiler related agribusiness through late 1940's to work together with growers by coordinating its function between two or more stages involved in broiler production and marketing process as a means of spreading risk and sharing profit between stages Participated. The integrated system and contract farming thus became Popular across the country through mid 1950's.

A Study on the System of Dual Purpose Officer and Education Curriculums in Korea (우리나라 운항사 제도 및 교육과정의 비교연구)

  • As the trend of ship's automation has spreaded over from 1950's , it caused shipping industries to develop new concept of ship's officer to operate new type of ships with high technologies. As a result, French started the education of Dual Purpose Officer (DPO) from 1967 for mariners who has skills and knowledge in navigation and engineering area. these experiments were concerned mainly with an improved carrier structure for officers, efficiency in ship's operation and subsequent cost saving, and in these years, many advanced countries in shipping business have been interested in the DPO system and adopted it especially in the Northern Europe and Japan. In Jorea there were researches for DPO based on experience of those in foreign countries in the middle of 1980's and established it with revision of relevant domestic regulation in 1990. Korean shipping industry will meet first graduates from DPO program in the near future but it seems that there were not sufficient studies to prepare actual practice. In the paper it was tried to analyze korean DPO system in the structure of education and certification by comparing them with foreign one and found that curriculums of the two maritime universites in Korea are quite suitable under circumstances of domestic shiping industry but some amendments are needed in relevant regulations.

  • The objective of the present paper is to analyze the problems found in the operation of startup companies and to seek after their solutions. It is thus aimed at offering reasonable grounds for the government to work out long- and short-term strategies in an attempt to help and vitalize startup companies. In this context, following analysis was conducted to meet the objective of this study: First, it was analyzed here to determine if there was any difference in the application of management characters that were deemed to be important factors exercising drastic influence on competitiveness of startup companies directly as well as indirectly; and Second, it was empirically proved how management characters of startup companies affected their competitiveness. From the analysis, it was discovered as follows: First, characters of founders such as age, education and experience in management were found to differ depending on the extent that factors of managerial characters in startup companies were practically applied; and Second, the four factors of managerial characters that were classified by factor analysis turned out to have influence on variables of financial and non-financial competitiveness that were connected with competitiveness of a company.

Profile of Korean Restaurant Patrons in New-york City (뉴욕 소재 한국레스토랑 고객특성 분석)

  • Coupled with the international expansion of Korean culture in recent years, a number of restaurants from Korea have been trying to tap into the global market place. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of non-Korean patrons in Korean Restaurants in New-york city. The survey was conducted at six popular Korean restaurants, all of which had been recognized in the Zagat Survey in recent years, located in prime business districts in Manhattan. The data collected from the six local Korean restaurants that participated in this study were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. After employing individual in-depth interviews with restaurant operators, a qualitative analysis identified demographic characteristics, Socioeconomic characteristics and segmentation of restaurant operation. Self-administrated survey questionnaires were used to acquire quantitative data. Primary data were collected from non-Korean patrons at the six participating Korean restaurants in New York City in 2008 (N=245). The patrons who answered the survey indicated that they were highly satisfied with the 'Food'; however, they were not satisfied with the 'Beverage' and 'Value'. In addition, older patrons (55<) were not as content with the 'Food' as the younger patrons. The most influential satisfaction variable that affected a patron's intention to revisit the Korean restaurant was 'Food' and 'Overall experience'. This study findings will help Korean restaurant operators and marketers better understand their patrons and formulate strategies to cater and target segments more effectively.

  • Action learning takes advantage of innovative management tool but not more to small business than five employees. It is difficult to utilize to them. As a case to solve this problem, this study investigates GNTECH(Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology)'entrepreneurship training and consulting convergence program. This program is applied to the development and operation of the start-up entrepreneur. Project participants are three groups those are graduate students, undergraduate students and professor. Professor has a role as facilitater. This case has the following meanings. First, by participating in entrepreneurship courses, undergraduate students experience entrepreneurship and mindset can be expected. Second, the start-up entrepreneur has the opportunity to directly verify the item. The consumer's perspective is the use of collective intelligence through team activities carried out in the process. Third, students of graduate and undergraduate has a chance learning facilitator function from professor. The results of this study provide conjunction between university educational programs based on entrepreneurship.

  • This study examines the information exploration characteristic and relative importance evaluation of island tourism web site. The survey items are developed based on the related studies and also implemented particular way so-called 'semi-online' that including both web based material and offline tutorial. The first objective of this study is verifying the characteristics of information exploration on island tourism of university students. The second is examining the peculiar properties of tourism information that exposed one's individual importance evaluation. The result of this study shows that most of the students have no difficulty in using the internet and exploring the island tourism information. And there is no significant difference in using and exploring the internet between male and female students. Based on the result of this study, most popular type of island tourism information is picture type. Personal blog or user created contents(UCC) that containing the other's experience of island tourism is mostly wanted contents. But there is a significant difference in importance of contents within the students. The community based information which including UCC, blog, and other community user's posting is evaluated the most important information for relatively less experienced students. On the other hand more experienced students have a preference on expertise information which created by tourism experts. The difference within the determinant factors that affecting island tourism also significant. With analysis of variance(ANOVA) on determinant factors, the tourism activity and social/culture resource are less important than others(eg. natural environment, accommodation and so on). The result of this study would be practically used for implementing the local government's effective tourism web site and enhancing the current island tourism operation. And also it gives a advantage to facilitate the island tourism for young generations.

  • This study is to investigate the influence of start-up factors and self-efficacy on the economic performances of the microenterprise. While the existing studies focused on start-up factors, this study has the meaning that it includes self-efficacy, the psychosocial factors, divides the economic performances by the profit and the number of employees. For this study, 322 copies of answered questionnaires were taken as the data to analyze. As the results of analysis business type, experience of start-up, period of operation, start-up fund and self-efficacy had the significant meaning out of the profit and it was checked out that business type, fund and self-efficacy influenced on the employees. This study discussed the policy and practical suggestion to raise the performances of microcredit based on these results.

  • The growth of Korea's construction industry is on the decrease, and it has caused the market of remodeling to be boosted up. But it's not that long people to get interested in the business of remodeling. So, the understanding and recognition in each remodeling process are not systematically formed yet and of which study and experience are insufficient as well, which may produce lots of problem after finishing these businesses. For resolving these problems, the make-up of remodeling process in the plan of operation will help us to reasonably and efficiently construct the basis of the business of remodeling which can be a way for efficient management and corresponded to national construction surroundings. Actual Production Conditions of Fermented Soybean Products on the Level of Farmhouses (장류가공사업 농가의 장류 생산실태에 관한 연구)

  • To assess the actual status of businesses selling fermented soybean products, this study surveyed 130 Farmhouse style small size soybean sauce processing sites supported by the Rural Development Administration nationwide. The sex composition of the businesses representatives of 2% male and 98% female showed that a farmhouse soybean processing business is generally operated by rural women as a non-filming business. The percentage of co-worked sites was 71.2 and that of sites with permits was 39.2. The main products were meju, doenjang, and kanjang. Total production volume was found to be 523 tons, 256 tons, and 135 k$\ell$s, respectively. The number of years of experience of the manufacturers of the kanjang and doenjang was found to be 25.7 on average which shows that long-experienced, skilled manufacturers are participating in this project. The traditional measuring unit differed greatly depending on the region. This difference in the measuring unit of soybeans resulted in a large difference in the volume of doenjang and kanjang produced Per Province. For one kg of raw soybeans, the weight of Doenjang produced also varied from 2.14 kg in the Gyeongbuk area to 1.62 kg in Jeju. In the aspect of salt use, 1.75 $\ell$ (translated by volumetric unit 0.704 due) of salt pet kg of meju, in Jeju, was the highest in Korea. Government supervision would be beneficial in the areas of raw material products, standardization of measuring units and production methods, organization and operation of a conference for the different groups of producers, and in construction of a nationwide database.
