In this study, the force tracking performance of the single-rod and double-rod type EHAs (Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators) was compared by computer simulation and experiments. The force-controlled EHAs exhibit non-linear behavior that are significantly dependent on operation conditions. The investigation focused on localizing the parameters that provide significant rise to the non-linearity. For this, the single-rod and double-rod type EHAs were mathematically expressed to derive their linear models. In parallel, they were modeled by a commercial simulation program including non-linear properties based on experimental results. It was shown that the dependency of the bulk modulus of oil with entrapped air on working pressure dominated the non-linearity in force control performance in case of the double-rod type EHA. The force control of the single-rod type EHA was influenced by much more elements. Besides the asymmetrical piston geometry and the non-linear bulk modulus of oil, its pilot-operated check valves made it dependent not only on the magnitude of reference input but also on its direction.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of dentin roughening and the type of composite resin used (either bulk-fill flowable or nanohybrid) on the restoration of non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) with an 18-month follow-up period. Materials and Methods: This prospective split-mouth study included 36 patients, each with a minimum of 4 NCCLs. For each patient, 4 types of restorations were performed: unroughened dentin with nanohybrid composite, unroughened dentin with bulk-fill flowable composite, roughened dentin with nanohybrid composite, and roughened dentin with bulk-fill flowable composite. A universal bonding agent (Tetric N Bond Universal) was applied in self-etch mode for all groups. The restorations were subsequently evaluated at 6, 12, and 18 months in accordance with the criteria set by the FDI World Dental Federation. Inferential statistics were computed using the Friedman test, with the level of statistical significance established at 0.05. Results: The 4 groups exhibited no significant differences in relation to fracture and retention, marginal staining, marginal adaptation, postoperative hypersensitivity, or the recurrence of caries at any follow-up point. Conclusions: Within the limitations of the present study, over an 18-month follow-up period, no significant difference was present in the clinical performance of bulk-fill flowable and nanohybrid composite restorations of non-carious cervical lesions. This held true regardless of whether dentin roughening was performed.
This study was conducted to investigate the physical properties of wood chip for fuel processing with woody biomass. Seven species are selected and processed for testing physical properties by 3-type wood chippers which are commonly used in Korea. Wood chips produced by self-propelled drum chipper and fixed type wood chipper equipped with separator were uniform in size and shape. It was shown that the bulk density of produced wood chips was decreased with increasing the wood chip layer thickness, and oak chips prepared by self-propelled drum chipper and fixed type wood chipper showed the highest bulk density.
The films were deposited at evaporator system and were annealed at heat treatment. The films had a dense microstructure with fine grains. The electrical properties of the films were dramatically controlled with annealing. Samples Preparation were analyzed in term of positive temperature coefficient of Resistivity Samples were made in the substrate tempera-true of $400^{\circ}C$ deposition time of 10 hours, and forward power of 210watt. R-T(resistivity-temperature) Characteristics of the samples were investigated as a function of the substrate type and the ambient temperature. The resistivity of the thin film specimens was compared with that of the bulk type specimens. By using RF/DC magnetron sputtering system, we obtained lower resistivity in the thermistor with thin $BaTiO_3$ film than that in the bulk type thermistor.
Labyrinth seals are commonly used in various kinds of turbomachinery to reduce leakage flow. In the present 3D CFD analysis of see-through-type labyrinth air seal, the methodology of determining leakage and rotordynamic coefficients is suggested with the relative coordinate system for steady-state simulation. The leakage flow and rotordynamic forces predicted by using different solvers and turbulent models of FLUENT are compared with the results of the existing bulk-flow analysis code LABYSEAL.FOR and experiment. The present CFD result of direct stiffness(K) shows only improvement in prediction. The results of leakage and rotordynamic coefficients as well as computing time are sensitive against the used solver and turbulent model.
This study represents the recent laboratory results from cathodic protection (CP) system with the use of sacrificial anodes at different environmental conditions (temperature of $10^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$). Specimens were slab type with a dimension of $500mm{\times}50mm{\times}100mm$, and concrete cover thickness were 25mm. Zinc mesh and/or bulk type anodes were installed at the center of specimen to confirm the distance that CP system has influences on the specimen to distribute uniform CP current to rebar. Two different kinds of temperature condition were applied to verify the effect of temperature. Experiments were conducted for 60 days, and the distribution of potential and current that supplied from anode to rebar was measured. From the results, CP potential was varied with time, and temperature played an important role in CP potential variations. Current was also changed with time, and current distribution could be improved by installing additional bulk type anode.
A numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the effect of height position of Rushton type Impeller in the fermentation. The computational method was based on the CFX code. The simulation was performed for 3 height differences(25, 30, 35mm) between Rushton type impeller and bottom of fermentation. The instantaneous flow fields showed that the bulk flow consisted of large scale vortices. However the main flow results showed that the formation of ring vortices above and below the impeller depended on the height of the impeller.
The 181,000 DWT Bulk Carrier has a different deck house type, which is not typical for previous bulk carriers, to meet the new international rules for bulk carriers. This new deck house has much smaller transverse breadth than the hull's transverse breath, resulting in large levels of the transverse response of the deck house. In addition, the longitudinal response of the funnel showed rather a large magnitude of vibration, which are excited by the ship's main excitations such as the main engine H-moment and the propeller surface forte when the ship operates at the NCR and the MCR speeds In the ballast condition. To solve these issues, the global forced vibration analysis has been performed for the ship and the ship structure has been modified to reduce the vibration level by increasing the girder depth and adjusting the engine room tank arrangement.
Statement of problem: Damping of the peak force transmitted to implants has been reported by in vitro studies using impact forces on resin-veneered superstructures. Theoretical assumptions suggest that use of acrylic resin for the occlusal surfaces of a prosthesis would protect the connection between implant and bone. Therefore, the relationship between prosthesis materials and the force transmitted through the implant system also needs to be investigated under conditions that resemble the intraoral mechanical environment. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the fracture strength and modes of temporary prosthesis when a flange or occlusally extended structure were connected on the top of the abutment. Material and method: Modified abutments of winged and bulk design were made by casting the desired wax pattern which is made on the UCLA type plastic cylinder. Temporary crowns were made using templates on the modified abutments, and its fracture toughness and strain were compared to the traditional temporary prosthesis. To evaluate the effect of aging, 5.000 times of thermocycling were performed, and their result was compared to the 24hours specimen result. Results: The following conclusions were drawn from this study: 1. In the fracture toughness test, temporary crown's fracture line located next to the screw hole while modified designs with metal support showed fracture line on the metal and its propagation along the metal-resin interface. 2. Wing and bulk structure didn't show significant difference in the fracture toughness (p>0.05), but wing structure showed stress concentration on the screw hole area compared to bulk structure which showed even stress distribution. 3. In the fracture toughness test after thermocycling, wing and bulk structure showed increased or similar results in metal supported area while off-metal area and temporary crown showed decreased results. 4. In the strain measurement after thermocycling, its value increased in the temporary and bulk structure. However, wing structure showed decreased value in the loading point while increased value in the screw hole area. Conclusion: Wing type design showed compatible result to the bulk type that its application with composite resin prosthesis to the implant dentistry is considered promising.
In this paper, the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method for lead battery of the solar cell generator equipment is proposed. And we propose the control circuit and design method of insulated switching mode convert type pulse charger by fly-back convert method in the lead battery. The proposed system can minimize the current consumption by digital pulse. Also the proposed system can generate the constant 10[KHz] frequency, transmit the signal with main control system in the power control system. And it supervises the state of lead battery using one chip micro processor. The proposed the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by the fly-back converter method can charge fast and stabilize lead battery with nominal value 12[V], 20[AH]. Also we propose the design procedure of the power control circuit for turn ratio of fly-back inductor and determining method of values such as the charging current, bulk current, partial current, over current value and fixed charging voltage. The experiment results for the voltage and current wave for partial, bulk, over and fixed charging period show the good charging effect and performance. And the PCB and internal coupling diagram of the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method is presented.
