미역의 급여 수준이 타고난 면역반응이 활성화한 육계병아리의 혈액 항산화 균형에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Brown Seaweed Levels on the Antioxidant System in Broiler Chicks Activated Innate Immune Response)

  • Effect of dietary brown seaweed(Undaria pinnatifida) levels on the anti-oxidant enzyme system was evaluated in blood of broiler chicks activated innate immune response. Day-old broiler chicks were fed diets containing 0.0(basal), 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 % of brown seaweed for 4 weeks. The innate immune response was activated by injecting Salmonella typhymurium lipopolysaccharide(LPS) i.p. at 8, 10 and 12 day of age. The activation of innate immune response enhanced(p< 0.01) and the brown seaweed 1.0 and 2.0 % diets reduced(P< 0.05) the superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity in erythrocyte cytosol significantly. The activation of innate immune response elevated significantly the levels of peroxide and the activity of peroxidase in plasma, while the levels of dietary brown seaweed resulted in a significant linear increase in peroxidase activity in plasma of normal bird. Experience of the innate immune response in 4 week-old chicks reduced linearly the plasma level of peroxide with the level of brown seaweed and enhanced the plasma peroxidase activity. Also, the plasma of normal birds fed the brown seaweed showed higher level of peroxide and lower activity of peroxidase. The results indicated that dietary brown seaweed affected SOD and peroxidase activities in blood of broiler chicks during activation of innate immune response.

  • Effects of dietary brown seaweed product levels on performance and metabolism of protein and energy were investigated in broiler chicks that were activated the acute phase response. One day old chicks were fed diets containing either 0.0(basal), 1.0, 2.0 or 4.0 % brown seaweed products for 3 weeks. The acute phase response was activated by injecting i.p. the Salmonella typhimurium lipopolysacharide(LPS) at $2^{nd}$ week of age. The acute phase response lowered nitrogen balance(NB)/ $kg^{0.75}$ (metabolic body size) and highered dietary ME values in birds fed diets containing brown seaweed product. Increase in dietary brown seaweed products levels lowered daily gain, and NB, uric acid nitrogen(UAN) excretion and ME utilization per $kg^{0.75}$ in chicks with the acute phase response. But the dietary brown seaweed product level did not affect the performance of 3 Week old broiler chicks that experienced the acute phase response. And the brown seaweed products 1.0 and 2.0 % diets lessened the feed intake reduction caused by the acute phase response in broiler chicks. The brown seaweed 2.0% diet increased NB / g diet or $kg^{0.75}$ and decreased the excretion of UAN/g diet or $kg^{0.75}$. This result indicated that the brown seaweed was able to interact with the acute phase response and increased protein retention via decreased breakdown of protein in birds fed brown seaweed 2.0% diet.

  • 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 2.0 % 사료가 급성기 반응중인 육계병아리의 생산성과 영양소 이용성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 2.0 % 사료는 급성기 반응시 감소된 사료섭취를 증가시키고, 급성기 반응시 뇨산태 질소의 배설량을 감소시켜 질소밸런스를 증가시켰다. 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 2.0 % 사료는 4주령 체중을 높였다. 본 성적은 단백질 축적량의 증가는 단백질 분해량의 감소에 기인한다는 것을 나타낸다. 그리고 사료 중 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품이 육계병아리의 단백질 축적량을 증가시켜 생산성을 증가시키며, 급성기 반응시 사료섭취 증가와 영양소 이용성을 증가시킨다는 것을 나타낸다.

산란계 사료중 미역과 뱅코마이신이 산란계의 생산성에 미치는 영향

  • 미역사료는 산란계의 질소 균형을 뱅코마이신 사료보다 유의하게(p<0.01) 높였으나 뇨산태 질소 배설량은 두 사료사이에 유의차가 없었다. 체중당 또는 대사 체중($kg^{0.75}$)당 ME 이용성은 미역사료와 뱅코마이신 사료에서 기초사료보다 낮으나, 실험 사료간 유의한 차이는 없었다. 산란계는 미역사료를 가장 많이 섭취(p<0.05)하였고, 산란일량은 미역사료에서 높았으며, 계란 생산성은 실험기간의 경과에 따라 유의하게 감소하였고(p<0.0001), 실험사료 사이에 유의차(p<0.001)가 있었다. 난각 두께는 미역사료가 기초사료보다 높았다. 하우 유니트는 미역사료에서 기초사료보다 높았고, 뱅코마이신 함유사료 급여 시 가장 낮았다. 미역 사료를 급여한 닭은, 기초사료에 비해서, 난백 CuZnSOD 활성, 적혈구의 MnSOD 활성과 혈장 과산화물 분해효소의 활성을 높였으나 혈장 과산화물 농도는 감소시켰고 PHA-P 자극에 의한 PBMC 증식도를 증가시켰다. 본 성적은 미역 2.0%사료는 산란계체내 단백질 합성 증가와 계란 생산성과 품질을 높이며, 이것은 계란과 혈액내 항산화계 조절과 혈액내 면역 세포 활성의 조절과 관계가 있다는 것을 나타내었다.

  • 사료중 미역제품 수준이 타고난 면역반응을 활성화한 육계병아리의 생산성과 항산화계에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. LPS를 주입하여 타고난 면역반응을 활성화하였다. 미역제품 2.0 % 사료는 뇨산태 질소의 배설량을 감소시켜 질소밸런스와 사료효율을 유의하게 증가시켰다(P<0.05), 미역제품 1.0 % 사료는 타고난 면역 활성화시의 생산성 감소를 완화시켰다. 미역제품 2.0 % 사료는 혈장 SOD의 활성을 낮추었다. 그러나 타고난 면역의 활성화는 적혈구 세포액의 SOD 활성과 혈장 peroxide 수준을 유의하게 높였다. 미역제품 사료는 과산화물분해효소의 활성을 유의하게(P<0.05)높였다. 본 성적은 육계 병아리에서 미역제품 2.0 % 사료는 단백질 분해량을 감소시킴으로써 단백질 축적량을 높여서 육계병아리의 생산성을 증가시키는 것을 나타내었다. 그리고 미역제품 2.0 % 사료 급여시 급성기 반응 및 정상 병아리의 항산화계효소 활성 감소, 생산성의 증가는 혈액 항산화계의 변화와 연계된다는 것을 나타내었다.

  • The biosorption abilities of different parts of waste brown seaweeds and their derivatives to remove heavy metals (Cd, Zn, Pb, Cu, Fe, Ni, Mn) from waste were evaluated. The two parts of waste brown seaweeds (Undaria pinnatifida) were stems and sporophyls, and the brown seaweed derivatives were alginic fibers, active carbon added alginate(AC-alginate) and dealginate. The abilities of the sporophyls to adsorb the heavy metal ions were higher than those of stems, and those of alginates were slightly higher than those of dealginate in single ion solution. With decreasing the size of biosorbents, the velocity and the amount of adsorption increased. The abilities of alginate to remove the heavy metal ions increased in multi-ion solutions by adding active carbon to alginate. The selectivity of these biosorbents(alginate, AC-alginate) to lead ion was highest and to manganese ion was lowest.

타고난 면역이 활성화한 육계병아리의 혈액 항산화계 균형과 TNF-$\alpha$ 농도에 미치는 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 사료의 영향

  • 기초사료, 미역제품 사료와 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 사료를 육계병아리에 각각 급여하여 8. 10 및 12일령에 LPS를 주입하여 타고난 면역반응을 활성화하였다. 미역제품 사료와 타고난 면역반응 활성화는 적혈구 세포액의 MnSOD 활성을 낮추었다. CuZnSOD 활성은 타고난 면역에 의해 상승하였다. 타고난 면역이 활성화된 병아리에서 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 사료는 혈장 총 SOD 활성을 유의하게 낮추었다. 타고난 면역반응은 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 사료에서 과산화물 농도를 유의하게 높였고, 과산화물분해효소 활성은 콩 추출 함유 미역제품 사료를 급여한 육계병아리에서 유의하게 낮았다. 타고난 면역반응은 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 사료에서 TNF-a 농도를 유의하게 낮추고, 오보트랜스페린의 농도를 높였다. 이상과 같이 콩 추출물 함유 미역제품 사료는 혈액 항산화계와 급성기 반응시의 TNF-a 농도와 오보트랜스페린 농도를 동시에 변화시켰다.

미생물을 이용한 미역폐기물의 저장 및 알긴산염 저분자화 (Storage of Waste-Brown Seaweed and Degradation of Alginate Using Microorganism)

  • We studied a storage of waste-brown seaweed at room temperature and degradation of alginate in seaweed by microorganism DS-02. The seaweeds, mixed with 5.0 wt% DS-02 and sealed in vinyl package without any other treatment, could be stored longer than 1 year without spoilage at room temperature. During the storage process, the alginate of seaweed was decomposed by enzyme of DS-02 and the molecular weight of alginate decreased to about 1/10 of initial quantity. DS-02 growed as fast as it had maximum weight after 24 hour culture and it's enzyme had a maximum activity of alginate degradation at $40^{\circ}C.$ The seaweed sample became particles in DS-02 culture solution and the M. W of alginate decreased to about 1/10 of initial value after 24 hour decomposition. The effect of alginate degradation with DS-02 was similar to that of degradation with 3.0 M HCI solution for 24 hour.

Effects of dietary supplementation with fermented and non-fermented brown algae by-products on laying performance, egg quality, and blood profile in laying hens

  • Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with fermented and non-fermented brown algae by-products on the laying performance, egg quality, relative organ weight, and blood profile of laying hens. Methods: Hy-Line Brown chickens (n = 180; 70-week-old) were randomly divided into 5 groups with 4 replicates per group (3 hens per cage, 4 cages per replicate), and fed with 5 experimental diets, namely the basal control diet (CON) or the control diet supplemented with 0.5% brown seaweed (BS), 0.5% seaweed fusiforme (SF), 0.5% fermented brown seaweed (FBS), or 0.5% fermented seaweed fusiforme (FSF), for 4 weeks. Results: Egg production rate and egg mass were greater in the BS group than in the other groups (p<0.05), and the SF and FSF groups had greater egg production than the control group (p<0.05). Egg weight was higher in the BS group than in the other groups (p<0.05). There were no differences in eggshell color, egg yolk color, eggshell strength, or eggshell thickness among the groups. There was no difference in Haugh units among the treatment groups, except for the FSF group, which had a significantly lower value (p<0.05). The non-fermented groups had greater relative organ weights, particularly the liver and cecum, than the other groups (p<0.05). Regarding blood profile, the supplemented-diet groups had higher albumin levels than the control group (p<0.05). The FBS group had higher total cholesterol and triglyceride levels than the other groups (p<0.05). The BS and FBS groups had higher glutamic pyruvic transaminase levels than the other groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study demonstrated that dietary brown algae supplementation can improve egg-laying performance; however, supplementation with fermented seaweeds had no positive effect on the egg-laying performance of hens.

미역폐기물로부터 알기네이트의 추출 및 디알기네이트의 이용 (Extraction of Alginate from Waste-Brown Seaweed and Use of Dealginate)

  • Effective alginate extraction from waste-brown seaweeds was studied. The waste-brown seaweeds almost consist of stems of seaweeds. Alginate could be obtained from the stems as well as leaves of seaweed. Ultrasonic vibration(47kHz) facilitated filtering step in the alginate extraction process. Among various alkalies for alginate extraction, $NaHCO_3$ was most appropriate concerning use of dealginates. The yield of alginate extraction using $NaHCO_3$ 2wt% solution was 19.3% at $60^{\circ}C$. The dealginates from $NaHCO_3$-extraction process have been found most suitable food for red-worms.
