A loosely coupled message broker system is a popular method for integrating distributed software components. Especially, a distributed broker structure with multiple brokers with active-standby or active-active message replicas are used to enhance availability as well as message processing performance. However, there are problems in both active-standby and active-active replica structure. The active-standby has relatively low processing performance and The active-active structure requires a high synchronization overhead. In this paper, we propose an active-active structure of replicas to increase the availability of the brokers without compromising its high fault-tolerancy. In the proposed structure, standby replicas process the requests of the active replicas so that load balancing is achieved without additional brokers, while the distributed coordinators are used for the synchronization process to decrease the overhead. We formulated the overhead incurred when synchronizing messages among replicas, and the formulation was used to support the experiment results. From the experiment, we observed that replicas of the active-active structure show better performance than the active stand-by structure with increasing number of users.

This study is a study on the requirements, resources, and role of policy broker in the policy process. Particular attention was paid to two requirements of legitimacy (official authority, political support) and professionalism (information and expertise, skilled leadership) as the requirements of policy broker. This study analyzed the process of transforming the actor conflicts surrounding the media rep legislative process into a cooperative relationship by being mediated by a strong influential policy broker. Policy brokers can mediate opinions among participating actors and play a role in coordinating conflicting interests. In the mediarep policy process, the policy brokers were unable to resolve conflicts due to lack of legitimacy and expertise in the first phase (legislative grace period) and the second phase (legislative loophole). However, the legitimacy of the six subcommittees of the National Assembly (the legislative period) and the expertise of the Korea Communications Commission were able to succeed in policy-making by acting as a successful policy brokers through complementary activities.

This study analyzed the stock brokers to find how they use the automatic stock trading through internet based on a comparison of U.S.A and Korea. And we reviewed the changing appearance of internet stock trading with one year time lag. The internet stock trading in Korea had been started in 1998 but it was a common trading just after one year.

Indisputably school is the main institution that socialises migrant children into the culture of their new country. Through school they learn the new language and customs, which will enable them to become cultural brokers between the new cultural world and their families. During this process migrant children often transit a liminal terrain where their roles and identity become at the same time diverse and ambivalent. Despite the challenges involved these children often become experts in juggling different cultures, environments and expectations. This study explores the experiences of Latin American children and their families as they start primary school in Australia.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the way of effective management of real estate brokerage business by establishing the Job Model in real estate brokerage business in Korea. The AHP method, designed for professionals in a field, is used to establish the Job Model. The main result and implication of the study are as follows. The study found that real estate brokers recognize the importance of getting knowledge and information about the patterns and changes of the real estate market and economy, for the effective management of real estate brokerage business. The study therefore suggest that it is necessary to provide the brokers with education chance for the knowledge about the real estate market and economy.

As quick and secure mobility service is becoming a critical issue in the ubiquitous environment. Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has done a lot of meaningful work in order to cope with the critical issues, which is a key technology of guaranteeing the legally and safely using of network resources, they has proposed Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) to complement for such problems as handover latency and signaling overhead in existing MIPv6. Most of the current research about HMIPv6 focuses on how to optimize the interactive processes between the HMIPv6 and AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) protocol. This paper describes a cost-effective hierarchical authentication scheme, which makes its focus on minimizing the authentication latency in AAA processing. In this scheme, a hierarchical AAA architecture is proposed, in which the AAA servers are deployed on the Mobility Anchor Point (MAP), the Root AAA server manages several Leaf AAA servers and the Brokers on behalf of the AAA server in home domain. The simulation results shows that the proposed scheme reduces the handoff and authentication latency evidently compared to the previous traditional authentication combination modeling.

Off-line ship chartering is done nearly through(by) the brokers. Because of the international scale of chartering marker, brokers spend too much times and costs on searching the most appropriate product which the consumers want. In this research, we propose the on-line Charter Product Categorization Model to search the products efficiently in the Cyber Chartering System. This Model will make concerned parties of the ship chartering to get efficient and unific product information. and to select the most appropriate product. In this research, we classified the ship chartering products into categories of cargo, ship type, and sea routes, and formed the definition of mutual relation of each products. Moreover we verified that this classification is necessary to search the products by the product searching experiment.

SMEs are being forced to continuously innovate their technologies for survival due to changes in the external industrial environment. In order to innovate technology or discover technology cooperation partners of SMEs, it is necessary to actively introduce open innovation, centering on industry-academia-research. However, SMEs need to use open innovation brokers due to their lack of access to external resources and difficulty in independent promotion, and accordingly, the role of open innovation brokers is important. Until now, performance factors and influencing factors have been studied mainly by technology providers in the field of technology transfer, and research on mediators is very insufficient. This study analyzes the role and function of technology transfer intermediaries to explore the role of open innovation intermediaries and how they differ from existing technology transfer intermediaries. This role of open innovation intermediaries is of practical significance in that it deals with the role of intermediaries based on the results of government support projects, and it is of academic significance to serve as the basis for future research on open innovation intermediaries.

Financial planning in the United States has evolved since 1980 from a field comprised of specialists, such as insurance agents, bankers, accountants, and stock brokers, offering particular services to clients, to the situation today, where most professionals offering financial services to households market themselves as comprehensive financial planners. The breadth of knowledge required for financial planning can be seen in the 106 topics covered by the Certified Financial Planner(CFP) Exam. This study reviews the actual conditions of financial planning in the U.S. including suppliers of financial services to household, the philosophy of financial planning, and the financial planning process as described by the CFP Board. Also, this study discusses related research about problems and challenges faced by households in financial planning in the U.S.

The current size, characteristics. and channels of distribution of the offshore export (non North American) market for ginseng products are described. The apparent size of the worlds export market for ginseng products in 1987 is 3,363 tonnes. The major export markets for ginseng are Hong Kong (1,972.4 tonnes) and Japan (540.9 tonnes). The volume of ginseng imported into Hong Kong has doubled over the past five years from 976.3 tonnes in 1983 to 1,972.4 tonnes in 1987. This increase is reflective of an expanding Chinese market. In terms of products forms, the toast majority of ginseng imported into China is in root form, while Japan imports both red and white ginseng as well as ginseng beverages and medical products. Hong Kong is the destination of over 86f; of the volume of North American ginseng exported between 1983 and 1987. North American ginseng products are distributed by ginseng brokers or importers/exporters.
