Reduced-bit transform based block matching algorithm via SAD (영상의 저 비트 변환을 이용한 SAD 블록 정합 알고리즘)

  • The reduced-bit transform based bit-plane matching algorithm (BPM) can obtain the block matching result through its simple calculation and hardware design compared to the conventional block matching algorithms (BMAs), but the block matching accuracy of BPMs is somewhat low. In this paper, reduced-bit transform based sum of the absolute difference (R-SAD) is proposed to improve the block matching accuracy in comparison with the conventional BPMs and it is shown that the matching process can be obtained using the logical operations. Firstly, this method transforms the current and the reference images into their respective 2-bit images and then a truth table is obtained from the relation between input and output 2-bit images. Next, a truth table is simplified by Karnaugh map and the absolute difference is calculated by using simple logical operations. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed R-SAD can obtain higher accuracy in block matching results compared to the conventional BPMs through the PSNR analysis in the motion compensation experiments.

  • 중간 노드들에서 통신 데이터를 불법으로 획득하는 스니핑에 대한 대안으로 암호화 통신에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 암호화 통신을 위해 블록 암호 알고리즘을 사용한 패킷 암/복호화 모듈을 제시하고, SEED 알고리즘을 이용하여 리눅스에 구현한 사례를 기술한다. 이 모듈은 기존의 네트워크와 응용 프로그램에 영향을 주지 않고 암호화 통신 기능을 제공하기 위해 IP 패킷의 헤더 정보를 변경하는 방법을 사용한다.

Improved Security Analysis of Reduced SMS4 Block Cipher (축소된 SMS4 블록 암호에 대한 향상된 안전성 분석)

  • In this paper, we introduce improved differential and linear attacks on the SMS4 block cipher which is used in the Chinese national standard WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure, WLAN - Wireless Local Area Network): First, we introduce how to extend previously known differential attacks on SMS4 from 20 or 21 to 22 out of the full 32 rounds. Second, we improve a previously known linear attack on 22-round reduced SMS4 from $2^{119}$ known plaintexts, $2^{109}$ memory bytes, $2^{117}$ encryptions to $2^{117}$ known plaintexts, $2^{l09}$ memory bytes, $2^{112.24}$ encryptions, by using a new linear approximation.

Design for Self-Repair Systm by Embeded Self-Detection Circuit (자가검출회로 내장의 자가치유시스템 설계)

  • This paper proposes an efficient structure which is able to perform self-detection and self-repair for faults in a digital system by imitating the structure of living beings. The self-repair system is composed of artificial cells, which have homogeneous structures in the two-dimension, and spare cells. An artificial cell is composed of a logic block based on multiplexers, and a genome block, which controls the logic block. The cell is designed using DCVSL (differential cascode voltage switch logic) structure to self-detect faults. If a fault occurs in an artificial cell, it is self-detected by the DCVSL. Then the artificial cells which belong to the column are disabled and reconfigured using both neighbour cells and spare cells to be repaired. A self-repairable 2-bit up/down counter has been fabricated using Hynix $0.35{\mu}m$ technology with $1.14{\times}0.99mm^2$ core area and verified through the circuit simulation and chip test.

Image Retrieval Using Spacial Color Correlation and Local Texture Characteristics (칼라의 공간적 상관관계 및 국부 질감 특성을 이용한 영상검색)

  • This paper presents a content-based image retrieval (CBIR) method using the combination of color and texture features. As a color feature, a color autocorrelogram is chosen which is extracted from the hue and saturation components of a color image. As a texture feature, BDIP(block difference of inverse probabilities) and BVLC(block variation of local correlation coefficients) are chosen which are extracted from the value component. When the features are extracted, the color autocorrelogram and the BVLC are simplified in consideration of their calculation complexity. After the feature extraction, vector components of these features are efficiently quantized in consideration of their storage space. Experiments for Corel and VisTex DBs show that the proposed retrieval method yields 9.5% maximum precision gain over the method using only the color autucorrelogram and 4.0% over the BDIP-BVLC. Also, the proposed method yields 12.6%, 14.6%, and 27.9% maximum precision gains over the methods using wavelet moments, CSD, and color histogram, respectively.

  • FormFactors is one of the most critical design factors in early development of mobile phone, and proper selection of FormFactors is necessary for smoothness of product development and customer satisfaction. Especially, emergence of mobile convergence added so various functions besides its original call function that importance of selecting FormFactors has increased because multiform FormFactors are needed. However there is problem such as frequent change of decision making in existing process because established process picks out FormFactors sensibly and arbitrarily through idea pull and so forth. We proposed FormFactors selection process by Axiomatic Design, set approach method and block approach method for reasonable and systematical FormFactors selection. First of all, we set the purpose of mobile phone development, and it is examined by Axiomatic Design. FormFactors design matrix is deduced through this process, the numbers of axes and rails are proposed using set approach method, and then patterns of FormFactors are embodied by block approach method. Particularly process application was tried through case study of mobile phone development, and we ensured that new FormFactors can be presented to a designer by systematical verification if change of customer requirements occurs through our process.

Effect of Welding Condition and Roller on Weldability of Al Coated Steel Sheet using Plasma Arc Welding (박판 알루미늄 도금강판의 플라즈마 용접성에 미치는 용접조건 및 롤러의 영향)

  • Al-coated steel sheets with excellent heat and corrosion resistance are widely used in various applications. In welding of thin plate, some defects such as unmelted zone and metal-through occur easily in the beginning and ending of welding line. In the study, the welding defects in Al-coated steel sheets were investigated with respect to plasma arc current, height between Cu block and base metals, and using a roller to align the height of the base metal. Full penetration and voids free welds were obtained with a plasma arc current 52A and weld speed 2.3m/min. An unmelted zone increased and Ericshen rate decreased as the height between Cu block and base metal increased from 0 to 0.6mm. Using a roller moving ahead of the plasma arc, the length of unmelted zone decreased from 1.7mm to 0.5mm.

  • The effects of the transreactions on the rheological properties have been found in the poly(ethylene 2, 6-naphthalate) (PEN) and poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) blends. The rheological properties were very much dependent on the blend compositions, which, in turn, were related to extent of the reactions. In particular, a blend with 50/50 wt% composition exhibits an unusual and remarkable decrease in complex viscosity and it may be related to the randomness of the copolymer structure through transreactions. It has been identified by investigating the extent of transreactions and block length of the copolymer from the (ethylene 2, 6-naphthalate) (EN) and (ethylene terephthalate) (ET) units from $^1{H}$ n.m.r. spectra.

  • Recently, studies on the fourth industrial revolution have been actively conducted in the areas of government, business, and academia. Corporate business models that utilize the major agendas of the fourth industrial revolution such as robots, artificial intelligence, Internet of things (IoT), and block chains have been created, and various changes have occurred in not only business, education, and living environments but also in international relations. In this study, we looked at changes in social contribution activities from the perspective of a company facing impacts of the fourth industrial revolution. This study examines the definition and activities of corporate social contribution and how we can contribute to society through corporate activities. 'AT Educom', LG Uplus 'Social Contribution through IoT', KT's anti-infectious disease prevention platform and cases of Intel using IoT. In addition, we have presented what we need to do in the future to promote corporate social contribution activities that will make more meaningful impacts on how corporate social contribution activities will change according to technology development. The first, measuring the performance of corporate social contribution activities needs a standardized methodology and social contribution activities through platform business and ICT should be actively pursued. Lastly, social contribution activities between companies and sectors will increase.

Hydrolytic Stability of Sulfonic Acid-Containing Polyimides for Fuel Cell Membranes

  • The long-term stability of sulfonic acid-containing polyimides has been investigated. The hydrolytic degradation of homopolyimide and the block copolyimide comprising $27\;mol\%$ of 2,2'-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzidine and $9\;mol\%$ of m-phenylenediamine (BTFMB27mPl0[7/(3+1)]), was quantified through viscosity measurements and FT-IR spectroscopic analyses. The viscosity decrease with respect to time and the degradation rate were similar. The degrees of degradation with respect to time under ambient conditions and at elevated temperature in water were monitored by FT-IR spectroscopy. A new absorption peak was observed at $1786\;cm^{-1},$ which we corresponds to the presence of anhydride end groups formed by hydrolytic scission of the imide rings.
