Output only system identification using complex wavelet modified second order blind identification method - A time-frequency domain approach

  • This paper reviewed a few output-only system identification algorithms and identified the shortcomings of those popular blind source separation methods. To address the issues such as less sensors than the targeted modal modes (under-determinate problem), repeated natural frequencies as well as systems with complex mode shapes, this paper proposed a complex wavelet modified second order blind identification method (CWMSOBI) by transforming the time domain problem into time-frequency domain. The wavelet coefficients with different dominant frequencies can be used to address the under-determinate problem, while complex mode shapes are addressed by introducing the complex wavelet transformation. Numerical simulations with both high and low signal-to-noise ratios validate that CWMSOBI can overcome the above-mentioned issues while obtaining more accurate identified results than other blind identification methods.

  • Blind channel identification and equalization attempt to identify the communication channel and to remove the inter-symbol interference caused by a communication channel without using any known trainning sequences. In this paper, we propose a blind adaptive channel identification and equalization algorithm with phase offset compensation for single-input multiple-output (SIMO) channel. It is based on the one-step forward multichannel linear prediction error method and can be implemented by an RLS algorithm. Phase offset problem, we use a blind adaptive algorithm called the constant modulus derotator (CMD) algorithm based on condtant modulus algorithm (CMA). Moreover, unlike many known subspace (SS) methods or cross relation (CR) methods, our proposed algorithms do not require channel order estimation. Therefore, our algorithms are robust to channel order mismatch.

  • 수중음향통신 관점에서 바다와 같은 수중채널은 수십심벌에 이르는 다중경로와 빠르게 변화하는 도플러 효과가 존재한다. 따라서 신뢰성 있는 수중음향통신을 위해서는 채널 등화가 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이차 통계량 기반의 Blind Identification 알고리듬을 이용한 수중음향 채널추정 기법을 이용하여 무향수조의 채널응답을 분석하였다. 실험을 통하여 알고리듬의 추정 정확도 및 트랜스듀서 특성을 포함한 무향수조의 채널 응답 특성에 대하여 논한다.

  • Due to the complexity of underwater acoustic channel, signal estimation in underwater acoustic communication field is considerably affected from time-varying multipath fading channels. On this reason, the original signals should have many long training signals to estimate the channel and the purposed signals, and the bit rate of signals having information may have small rate. In order to avoid this loss of efficiency in underwater communication, this paper employed a blind channel identification method which don't use training signals. Simulations have predicted performance of the employed method in multipath environment and an aquatic plant experiment has verified the simulation results.

  • In this study, the algorithm for detection of evoked potentials is proposed. The observed evoked potentials are first preprocessed by blind identification so as to eliminate the ongoing EEG Bile noise. Then, statistic characteristics of the peak components i.e latency and amplitude are detected from prefiltered responses by latency-corrected averaging method. The performance of blind identification is compared with those of adaptive fillers as to deterministic and stochastic EPs, is assessed in terms of NMSE, distortion index, correlation coefficient with original EPs. The estimated deterministic and stochastic EPs restored with peak components are compared and assessed. The results show the superiority of this proposed algorithm using blind identification in detecting deterministic and stochastic EPs.

  • 본 논문에서는 전자화폐 시스템의 인출 프로토콜의 안전성에 관해서 고찰한다. 익명성을 제공하는 인출 프로토콜에서는 사용자 인증과 더불어 은닉 서명을 동시에 사용한다. 먼저 은닉 서명을 분류하고, 이들 은닉서명 프로토콜과 사용자 인증 프로토콜의 결합 방식 중에서 인증후 은닉서명 방식(Identification-then-Blind Signature)에 대한 공격을 설명한다. 그리고 인증과 은닉서명을 동시에 하는 방식(Identification-and-Blind Signature)을 이용해서 명시적 수신자 은닉 서명(Blind Signature Scheme with Explicit Identified Receiver)을 제안하며, 그것들의 안전성에 대해서 분석한다.

  • A. Saxena et al. first proposed a two-flow blind identification protocol in 2005. But it has a weakness of the active-intruder attack and uses the pairing operation that causes slow implementation in smart cards. In this paper, we give a method of the active-intruder attack on their identification scheme and propose a new zero- knowledge blind identification protocol for Smart cards. Our protocol consists of only two message flows and does not rely on any underlying signature or encryption scheme. The prover using computationally limited devices such as smart cards has no need of computing the bilinear pairings. It needs only for the verifier. Our protocol is secure assuming the hardness of the Discrete-Logarithm Problem in bilinear groups.

  • Blind adaptive channel identification of communication channels is a problem of important current theoretical and practical concerns. Recently proposed solutions for this problem exploit the diversity induced by antenna array or time oversampling leading to the so-called, second order statistics techniques. And adaptive blind channel identification techniques based on a off-line least-squares approach have been proposed. In this paper, a new approach is proposed that is based on eigenvalue decomposition. And the eigenvector corresponding to the minimum eigenvalue of the covariance matrix of the received signals contains the channel impulse response. And we present a adaptive algorithm to solve this problem. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated over real measured channel and is compared to existing algorithms.

  • 이 논문에서는 고차통계값을 쓰지 않고 비최소 위상 FIR 시스템을 미상 식별(blind identification)할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 2차 백색 신호의 절대평균으로 그 신호의 고차 백색성 여부를 판단할 수 있다는 관찰에서 얻어진다. 제안한 방법은 고차통계값을 쓰는 방법의 새로운 대안이 될 수 있다. 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해서, 절대평균이 정확히 추정됨을 알 수 있었고 제안한 방법이 고차통계값을 쓰는 방법의 여러 단점을 해결할 수 있음을 보였다.

Experimental study on bridge structural health monitoring using blind source separation method: arch bridge

  • A new output only modal analysis method is developed in this paper. This method uses continuous wavelet transform to modify a popular blind source separation algorithm, second order blind identification (SOBI). The wavelet modified SOBI (WMSOBI) method replaces original time domain signal with selected time-frequency domain wavelet coefficients, which overcomes the shortcomings of SOBI. Both numerical and experimental studies on bridge models are carried out when there are limited number of sensors. Identified modal properties from WMSOBI are analyzed and compared with fast Fourier transform (FFT), SOBI and eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA). The comparison shows WMSOBI can identify as many results as FFT and ERA. Further case study of structural health monitoring (SHM) on an arch bridge verifies the capability to detect damages by combining WMSOBI with incomplete flexibility difference method.
