The concept of variable is a big idea to develop algebraic thinking. Variable has multiple meanings such as the unknown, a tool for generalization, and the relationship between varying quantities. In this study we analyzed in what ways the meanings of variable were presented in the current elementary mathematics textbooks and workbooks. The results showed that the most frequent meaning of variable was 'the unknown', 'a tool for generalization', and 'the relationship between varying quantities' in order. A close look at the results revealed that the same symbol was often used in representing different values of variable as the unknown. In taking variable as a tool for generalization, questions to provoke generalization were sometimes included not in the textbooks but in the teachers' manuals. The main focus in dealing with variable as the relationship between varying quantities was on finding out the dependent values compared to the independent ones. Building on these results, this study is expected to suggest implications for how to deal with variable concept in elementary mathematics instructional materials.

A big difference is seen in the perception of self-responsibility concerning safety, as a result of my survey on the safety measures taken in the pipeline construction at workers level between Japan and Indonesia. Specifically, when an accident occurs, a worker in Indonesia will think that the responsibility depends on the person who causes it. However a worker in Japan will think that safety is can only be protected by law and regulations. There is also another difference in the understanding of construction period. It is alright in Indonesia to take 5 times longer period than it takes in Japan if the cost is less. The idea of punctual delivery is very strong in Japan. Through this survey, points which construction industry in Japan could learn from Indonesia came to surface. In addition, over the recent years, several nasty accidents at Japanese sites were caused due to human error to disregard the law. Japanese should arouse the awareness of self-responsibility in this regard. Risk management should be upon self-recognition of each individual worker in both countries. What is important is the "work attitude education", "to grow sense of self-responsibility by thinking on one's own for one's self" in the education curriculum of man to man learning as in technical educational program.

Purpose: This article aims to explore the new town development paradigm against infectious diseases. The distribution of COVID-19 constricts economic activity. The high frequency of outbreaks of COVID-19 nationwide is due to neither malnutrition nor unhygienic environment. Research design, data and methodology: The research question starts with the idea that understanding the features of the outbreak of pandemic diseases could help public health authorities to better cope with upcoming risks in the future. We have employed a big data-based methodology to explore the outbreak of pandemic diseases. Also, an idiographic approach is used to describe the distribution of new towns against COVID-19. Results: The results demonstrate that the rapid spread of COVID-19 has had a strong impact on regional economies and urban development. It was found that there is a close relationship between infectious diseases outbreaks and new town development. Conclusions: The findings could be used to deal with new town development against infectious diseases better in other cities or countries as well. The distribution of COVID-19 may become an unexpected opportunity for a paradigm shift in the distribution of new town development to prevent not only an excessive concentration in Seoul, but also an imbalance between national and local development.

With the decoding of human genome in 2004 and the recent development in nutritional science there has been an integration of molecular biology and nutrition. As a consequenc a now word ' molecular nutrition ' has been formed and recently the word 'nutrigenomics' is coined and widely being used. The field of science that showed the most positive result from grafting the science of nutrition and nutrigenomics is obesity. In 1994, Jeffrey Friedman from Rockeffeler University announced that ob gene and obesity has a close relationship and since then there's been a huge research done on genes related to obesity from the molecular nutrition's Point of view. Even now there are many genes presented which are supposed to be related to obesity and big efforts are put into finding what exactly those genes do. Moreover studying only in the context of genes was not enough so functional genomics, which is the study of the functions of cells and the functions and effects between genes and Protein Products, is being studied. This review article discusses the relationship between nutrition and genes and the general idea of nutrigenomics. The article also discusses about the current research status on these subjects.

In this paper, we propose an efficient document layout analysis algorithm that includes table detection. Typical methods of document layout analysis use the height and gap between words or columns. To correspond to the various styles and sizes of documents, we propose an algorithm that uses the mean value of the distance transform representing thickness and compare with components in the local area. With this algorithm, we combine a table detection algorithm using the same feature as that of the text classifier. Table candidates, separators, and big components are isolated from the image using Connected Component Analysis (CCA) and distance transform. The key idea of text classification is that the characteristics of the text parallel components that have a similar thickness and height. In order to estimate local similarity, we detect a text region using an adaptive searching window size. An improved adaptive run-length smoothing algorithm (ARLSA) was proposed to create the proper boundary of a text zone and non-text zone. Results from experiments on the ICDAR2009 page segmentation competition test set and our dataset demonstrate the superiority of our dataset through f-measure comparison with other algorithms.

The purpose of this study is to study the Central Asian costumes($1{\sim}7C$) and develop new design items and suggest new brand launching. Korean apparel industry has been suffering from imbalance of supply and demand caused by the sagging economy and too many apparel companies. Due to the several years of recession, clothing consumption decreased and foreign brand's market share got bigger. As a result, managing a company became difficult and it is time for Korean apparel industry to enter the global market. We need a brand with new image and design that has big potential of purchasing power not only in Korea but also in China, and furthermore in global market. But even nearby Chinese market already became very competitive. One way of approaching Chinese fashion market is to find something special, for example, their historical background. Central Asian culture and costumes, a part of China, has both Eastern and Western culture. No other apparel industry had interest in the Central Asian costumes yet. Therefore, through their costume, a fresh design idea can be suggested.

As foundation wear, underwear is the starting point where a woman shapes her figure and constructs a female identity. In the late twentieth century, the use of underwear as outerwear was extensively adapted, so underwear as outerwear is the latest thing today. Based on literature review, this study aimed to examine how underwear was adopted for use as outerwear extensively in the late twentieth century. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, originally there was no border between underwear and outerwear at the start. With the change of female social and political status, the function of underwear and its design has been changed diversely. Also, its revealing and decoration has been linked with female sexual attraction. Second, by some precursor fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier, underwear was redefined as outerwear with erotic but powerful meaning in the Twentieth century. Their idea had an enormous influence on contemporary fashion culture, and consequently has become popularized like lingerie look today. Third, the change of female social status led a big change in view on the female sexuality and the ideas of femininity in fashion culture in the Twentieth century. Dressed by Gaultier, Madonna's performance wearing corset costume played a role in redefining contemporary femininity in relation to sexuality and power, even though it is still under the controversy.

Inflammation is an immune response of the human body but excessive inflammation is taken as a major factor in the development of many diseases including autoimmune disorders, cancer and nerve disorders etc. In this regards the need is to suppress the inflammatory response. Suppression of extra or imperfect inflammatory response is not a big deal provided there is an exact knowledge of particular target in the body. Recent advancements in Pharmacological aspect made the therapy with improved outcomes in number of patients. Anticytokine therapy might be one of the important and novel approaches for inflammation and Arthritis. This can be achieved only when we go through the pathophysiology of expression and identification of mediators. Let's take an example of cytokine like interleukins (IL), chemokines, interferons (INF), tumor necrosis factors (TNF-α), growth factors, and colony stimulating factors) release pathway which is a major signalling protein in inflammatory response. In the present study we have reviewed the recent pharmacological therapeutic advancement, inflammatory mediators, receptors, and major signalling pathways. Such information will not only provide the idea about the mechanism of action of Pharmaceuticals and molecular targets but also it provides a new aspect for drug designing and new corrective approaches in existing clinical medicines. This study will be a source of good information for the researchers working in the area of drug designing and molecular Pharmacology especially in anti-inflammatory and anti arthritic medicines for target based therapy.

The purpose of this study is to research the meaning of core ideas and to compare the core ideas in mathematics curriculum of each country. I derived that the core ideas were approached and presented in curriculums of South Korea, The United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore as several perspectives; the main domains of mathematics contents which should be taught; the basis of the core principles between of mathematical contents; the focuses for teaching and learning in school mathematics. Finally, I discussed the further research direction on the contents of core ideas and the methods of presenting it to teach meaningfully the core mathematical contents to students who will live in the future.

Home automation technology combines various devices in home organically with each other to ensure the convenience and improved safety of the home life refers to a technique for improving the human living. Because of the technology needed to make this house before you can act as awareness of your thoughts. In this paper, we implement the system model, such as data collection using a sensor network, and take advantage of the idea that the data itself to the home, and an introduction to the method.
