Comparison of accuracy between digital and conventional implant impressions: two and three dimensional evaluations

  • PURPOSE. The present study compared the accuracy between digital and conventional implant impressions. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The experimental models were divided into six groups depending on the implant location and the scanning span. Digital impressions were captured using the intraoral optical scanner TRIOS (3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark). Conventional impressions were taken with the monophase impression material based on addition-cured silicones, Honigum-Mono (DMG, Hamburg, Germany). A high-precision laboratory scanner D900 (3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark) was used to obtain digital data of resin models and stone casts. Surface tessellation language (STL) datasets from scanner were imported into the analysis software Geomagic Qualify 14 (3D Systems, Rock Hill, SC, USA), and scan body deviations were determined through two-dimensional and three-dimensional analyses. Each scan body was measured five times. The Sidak t test was used to analyze the experimental data. RESULTS. Implant position and scanning distance affected the impression accuracy. For a unilateral arch implant and the mandible models with two implants, no significant difference was observed in the accuracy between the digital and conventional implant impressions on scan bodies; however, the corresponding differences for trans-arch implants and mandible with six implants were extremely significant (P<.001). CONCLUSION. For short-span scanning, the accuracy of digital and conventional implant impressions did not differ significantly. For long-span scanning, the precision of digital impressions was significantly inferior to that of the traditional impressions.

Effects of Aspergillus oryzae Inclusion on Corn Silage Fermentation

  • This study is aimed at evaluating the effect of Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract (AFE) on corn silage fermentation characteristics. Trial included two groups of treatments, with or without AFE inclusion in corn ensilage. Sixty corn silage containers, including two treatments with thirty replicates each, were processed in a laboratory scale mini-silo of 21 cm radius by 45 cm height. Three replicate containers were opened and sampled for analysis at 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 18 and 34 days after being ensiled. One silage container from each treatment was installed with a remote controlled electronic thermometer to record the temperature changes. Analysis included silage temperature, pH, fermentation acids, the water-soluble carbohydrates and chemical compositions and the silage protein fractions. Results showed that on the first day, the temperature of the ensiled corn was slightly higher than room temperature, but returned to room temperature on the second day. The pH and concentrations of WSC, ADF, lignin and acetic acid in the AFE treated silage were significantly lower than the control groups (p<0.05). The lactic acid and crude protein on the other hand were significantly higher in the AFE treated silage as compared to the control (p<0.05) at the end of the ensilage period. The DM content was significantly higher (p<0.05) whereas the butyric acid content of the AFE treated silage was significantly lower (p<0.05) than the control at the end of the 34 day ensilage period. Titratable acid and buffering capacity in the corn silage were not significantly different between treatment groups (p>0.05). Ammonia N concentration in the AFE treated silage showed a trend of decrease (p>0.05). NPN and the protein fraction A in both groups increased during the conservation period, but fraction A in the AFE treated corn silage was significantly higher than the control silage (p<0.05). During the conservation period, the AFE treated corn silage showed a trend toward a decrease in fractions $B_1$, $B_3$ and C (p<0.05). The protein fraction B2 showed a trend toward increase in the control group and an inconsistent trend in the AFE treated silage during the ensiling period. The AFE treated silage showed a better Flieg score over the control silage (97 vs. 75) as calculated from the concentrations of lactic acid, acetic acid and butyric acid.

협동학습에 기반한 NFTM-TRIZ교수·학습모형 적용이 창의성과 수업만족도에 미치는 효과 (Effect of NFTM-TRIZ Model Based on Cooperative Learning on Creativity and Class Satisfaction)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 협동학습에 기반하여 NFTM-TRIZ모형을 활용한 수업이 특성화고 학생의 창의성, 수업만족도에 미치는 효과를 구명하여 특성화고의 교수·학습 방법의 개선 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째, NFTM-TRIZ모형을 적용했을 때 적용 효과와 실험, 비교집단 간 차이를 분석하였고, 둘째, 협동학습의 집단크기별로 창의성, 수업만족도의 유의미한 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, NFTM-TRIZ모형을 적용한 실험집단과 비교집단에 대한 사전/사후검사를 비교분석한 결과 실험집단에서 창의성의 자발성, 독자성, 집착성, 호기심 및 수업만족도에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 비교집단에서는 창의성 하위영역 모두에서 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, NFTM-TRIZ모형을 적용한 실험집단의 2인 집단보다 4인과 6인 집단에서 수업만족도가 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 따라서 협동학습에 기반한 NFTM-TRIZ모형은 특성화고 학생들의 창의성과 수업만족도를 증진시키는 교수·학습방법으로 효과가 있었다고 할 수 있다.

2,4-Dinitrochlorobenzene으로 유도된 아토피 피부염 동물모델에서 비파엽 및 삼백초 추출발효물의 항아토피 활성 (Anti-Allergic Activities of Fermented Eriobotrya japonica and Saurus chinensis Extracts in 2,4-Dinitrochlorobezene-Induced BALB/c Mice)

  • 본 연구는 in vitro 실험결과 아토피 피부염의 억제 효능이 기대되는 비파엽 추출물(BI군), 삼백초 추출물(SA군), 비파엽 추출물과 삼백초 추출 혼합물(FB군) 그리고 삼백초와 비파엽 추출 혼합 발효물(FA군)을 경구 투여하여 DNCB 처리한 아토피 실험동물을 대상으로 아토피 질환 개선에 대한 유효성을 평가하였다. 혈청 중의 IgE 수치를 측정한 결과, DNCB군에서 $227.21{\pm}60.04$ ng/mL를 나타내었으며, FA군에서는 $154.78{\pm}78.99$ ng/mL로 IgE 생성량이 감소되었다. 혈청내의 히스타민 농도는 DNCB군에서 $1.90{\pm}0.04$ ng/mL 였으며, FA, FB, BI, SA군에서 각각 $1.47{\pm}0.20$ ng/mL, $1.41{\pm}0.07$ ng/mL, $1.61{\pm}0.05$ ng/mL, $1.08{\pm}0.07$ ng/mL로 DNCB군과 비교 시 유의적인 감소를 나타내었다. 세라마이드 총 함량을 측정한 결과, FA군에서 $1,350{\pm}357\;{\mu}g/g$으로 DNCB와 비교 시 세라마이드 함량이 유의적으로 증가되었다. IFN-$\gamma$의 경우, DNCB군에서 $2.5{\pm}0.5$ ng/mL로 분석되 었으며, FA, FB, BI 및 SA군에서 각각 $7.1{\pm}1.3$ ng/mL, $7.7{\pm}0.2$ ng/mL, $11.5{\pm}0.6$ ng/mL 및 $6.9{\pm}0.2$ ng/mL로 DNCB 군과 비교 시 모두 유의적인 증가를 나타내었다. 특히 비파엽 및 삼백초 추출물 혼합 발효물은 등 부위 피부의 육안 증상을 관찰한 결과, 가피형성과 발적 감소가 가장 우수하여 아토피 피부염 질환 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

몽고말의 적혈구항원형 및 혈액단백질형 분석 (Analysis of Redcell and Blood Protein Typing in Mongolian Horse)

  • 제주말의 혈통보존을 위한 기초자료를 마련할 목적으로 국내에서 사육중인 몽고말 19두를 대상으로 적혈구항원형 및 혈액단백질형의 표현형 분포와 유전자 빈도를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 적혈구항원형의 표현형은 $A^af$(42.1%), $C^a$(89.5%), $K^-$((84.2%), $U^a$(63.2%), $P^a$(42.1%) $P^-$(42.1%), $Q^c$(31.6%), $Q^-$(31.6%)에서 높은 빈도를 나타냈으며 적혈구항원형 D 시스템의 유전자형은 $D^cgm/dghm$ (15.8%), $D^dghm/dghm$(15.8%), $D^ad/dghm$(10.5%), $D^ade/dghm$ (10.5%)가 높은 빈도 순으로 관찰되었다. 혈액단백질형 7개의 좌위에서는 $AL^{AB}$(52.6%), $AIB^K$( (89.5%), $ES^I$(63.2%), $GC^F$(78.9%), $HB^{BI}$(68.4%),$PGD^F$(84.2%), $TF^{F1R}I$(21.1%), $TF^{F2R}I$(21.1%)로 높은 빈도를 보였으며, $HB^{A2B2}I$(5.3%), $PGD^{DS}I$(5.3%)가 특이하게 관찰되었다. 적혈구항원형의 유전자 빈도를 조사한 결과 $A^a$(0.4211), $C^a$(0.8947), $K^-$(0.8421), $U^a$(0.6316), $P^a$ (0.4474), $Q^c$(0.4474), $D^{dghm}$(0.4211)로 가장 높은 빈도를 보였으며, 혈액단백질형 7개 좌위에 대해서 유전자 빈도를 조사한 결과 $AL^B$(0.6579), $AIB^K$(0.9211), $ES^I$(0.7895), $GC^F$(0.8947), $HB^BI$ (0.7895), $PGD^F$(0.8421), $TF^R$(0.3421)가 높은 빈도로 관찰되었다.

유방암 환자에서 시행한 유방 자기공명영상에서 배경 실질 조영 증강이 조직검사율과 악성률에 미치는 영향 (Background Parenchymal Enhancement on Breast MRI in Breast Cancer Patients : Impact on Biopsy Rate and Cancer Yield)

  • 목적 : 유방암이 진단된 환자에서 시행한 자기공명영상에서 배경 실질 조영 정도에 따른 추가적인 조직 검사율 및 악성률의 차이를 알아 보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 유방암을 진단받고 유방 자기공명영상을 촬영한 322명의 환자를 대상으로, 2명의 영상의학과 의사가 이들의 유방 자기공명영상을 분석하여 배경 실질 조영 증강 정도를 평가하였으며, 판독지를 통해 추가적인 BI-RADS 범주 4 이상의 병변 유무를 확인하였다. 추가적인 BI-RADS 범주 4 이상의 병변에 대해서는 조직검사를 시행하였고, 악성률을 구하기 위해 조직검사 결과를 확인하였다. 결과 : 총 322명의 유방암 환자의 배경 실질 조영 증강 단계별 환자수는 최소 조영 증강 47.5%, 경한 조영 증강 28.9%, 중간 조영 증강 12.4% 그리고 현저한 조영 증강 11.2%였다. 이 중 70예에서 추가적으로 악성이 의심되는 조영 증강 병변이 발견되었고, 4예를 제외한 66예에서 조직 검사가 시행되었다. 배경 실질 조영 증강이 적은 경우 (최소/경한 조영 증강)와 많은 경우 (중간/현저한 조영 증강) 에 따른 조직 검사율은 각각 19.9%, 22.3%이었고, 악성률은 각각 6.5%, 5.2%이었으나, p-value가 각각 0.77, 0.88로 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 결론 : 유방암이 진단된 환자에서 시행한 자기공명영상에서 배경 실질 조영 정도와 조직 검사율 및 악성률 사이에는 차이가 없었다.

수평 프리즘렌즈와 구면렌즈 착용 후 렌즈적응에 의한 사위도의 변화 (Phoria Changes Caused by Lens Adaptation after Wearing of Horizontal Prism Lens and Spherical Lens)

  • 목적: 수평 프리즘렌즈 및 구면렌즈를 착용한 후 렌즈적응검사를 통해 개인별 근거리 사위감소량을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 평균연령 $22.43{\pm}2.07$세의 103명(남자 63명, 여자 40명)을 대상으로 하였다. 대상자들의 굴절이상을 완전교정을 하고, 내사위군, 정위군, 외사위군으로 분류하였다. 프리즘 및 구면렌즈의 적응검사는 내사위군에서 $OU\;2\;{\Delta}\;BO$과 S+1.00 D를, 정위군과 외사위군에는 $OU\;2\;{\Delta}\;BI$과 S-1.00 D를 각각 사용하여, 렌즈 착용 직후, 15분 후, 그리고 30분 후에 실시하였다. 각각 측정된 사위도를 완전교정상태에서 측정된 사위도와 비교하여 두 렌즈에 대한 사위변화효과를 분석하였다. 결과: 프리즘렌즈에 의한 평균사위도는 모든 군에서 유의하게 감소하였다. 구면렌즈에 의한 평균사위도는 정위군과 외사위군에서 외사위가 유의하게 감소하였으며, 내사위 군에서는 사위가 감소하는 경향을 보였으나 유의성은 없었다. 프리즘렌즈 착용에 의한 사위감소량을 90~100%, 0~10%, 그리고 50% 이상인 경우로 분류하여 개인별 분포로 분석한 결과, 렌즈 가입 30분 후에서 각각 5명, 64명, 24명으로 나타났다. 구면렌즈 착용에 의한 사위감소량을 90~100%, 0~10%, 그리고 50% 이상인 경우로 분류하여 개인별 분포로 분석한 결과, 렌즈 가입 30분 후에서 각각 37명, 53명, 41명으로 나타났다. 프리즘렌즈와 구면렌즈 모두에서 사위도의 변화가 없는 대상자는 37.9%로 나타났다. 결론: 근거리 수평사위를 교정할 목적으로 프리즘렌즈와 구면렌즈를 처방하고자 할 때 반드시 착용 후 발생할 수 있는 렌즈적응에 대한 사전검사를 실시하여야 한다.

THEORETICAL STUDY ON OBSERVED COLOR-MAGNITUDE DIAGRAMS

  • From $B\ddot{o}hm$-Vitense's atmospheric model calculations, the relations, [$T_e$, (B-V)] and [B.C, (B-V)] with respect to heavy element abundance were obtained. Using these relations and evolutionary model calculations of Rood, and Sweigart and Gross, analytic expressions for some physical parameters relating to the C-M diagrams of globular clusters were derived, and they were applied to 21 globular clusters with observed transition periods of RR Lyrae variables. More than 20 different parameters were examined for each globular cluster. The derived ranges of some basic parameters are as follows; $Y=0.21{\sim}0.33,\;Z=1.5{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}4.5{\times}10^{-3},\;age,\;t=9.5{\sim}19{\times}10^9$ years, mass for red giants, $m_{RG}=0.74m_{\odot}{\sim}0.91m_{\odot}$, mass for RR Lyrae stars, $m_{RR}=0.59m_{\odot}{\sim}0.75m_{\odot}$, the visual magnitude difference between the turnoff point and the horizontal branch (HB), ${\Delta}V_{to}=3.1{\sim}3.4(<{\Delta}V_{to}>=3.32)$, the color of the blue edge of RR Lyrae gap, $(B-V)_{BE}=0.17{\sim}0.21=(<(B-V)_{BE}>=0.18),\;[\frac{m}{L}]_{RR}=-1.7{\sim}-1.9$, mass difference of $m_{RR}$ relative to $m_{RG},(m_{RG}-m_{RR})/m_{RG}=0.0{\sim}0.39$. It was found that the ranges of derived parameters agree reasonably well with the observed ones and those estimated by others. Some important results obtained herein can be summarized as follows; (i) There are considerable variations in the initial helium abundance and in age of globular clusters. (ii) The radial gradient of heavy element abundance does exist for globular clusters as shown by Janes for field stars and open clusters. (iii) The helium abundance seems to have been increased with age by massive star evolution after a considerable amount (Y>0.2) of helium had been attained by the Big-Bang nucleosynthesis, but there is not seen a radial gradient of helium abundance. (iv) A considerable amount of heavy elements ($Z{\sim}10{-3}$) might have been formed in the inner halo ($r_{GC}$<10 kpc) from the earliest galactic co1lapse, and then the heavy element abundance has been slowly enriched towards the galactic center and disk, establishing the radial gradient of heavy element abundance. (v) The final galactic disk formation might have taken much longer by about a half of the galactic age than the halo formation, supporting a slow, inhomogeneous co1lapse model of Larson. (vi) Of the three principal parameters controlling the morphology of C-M diagrams, it was found that the first parameter is heavy clement abundance, the second age and the third helium abundance. (vii) The globular clusters can be divided into three different groups, AI, BI and CII according to Z, Y an d age as well as Dickens' HB types. BI group clusters of HB types 4 and 5 like M 3 and NGC 7006 are the oldest and have the lowest helium abundance of the three groups. And also they appear in the inner halo. On the other hand, the youngest AI clusters have the highest Z and Y, and appear in the innermost halo region and in the disk. (viii) From the result of the clean separations of the clusters into three groups, a three dimensional classification with three parameters, Z, Y and age is prsented. (ix) The anomalous C-M diagrams can be expalined in terms of the three principal parameters. That is, the anomaly of NGC 362 and NGC 7006 is accounted for by the smaller age of the order of $1{\sim}2{\times}10^9$ years rather than by the helium abundance difference, compared with M 3. (x) The difference in two Oosterhoff types I and II can be explained in terms of the mean mass difference of RR Lyrae variables rather than in terms of the helium abundance difference as suggested by Stobie. The mean mass of the variables in Oosterhoff type I clusters is smaller by $0.074m_{\odot}$ which is exactly consistent with Rood's estimate. Since it was found that the mean mass of RR Lyrae stars increases with decreasing Z, the two Oosterhoff types can be explained substantially by the metal abundance difference; the type II has Z<$3.4{\times}10^{-4}$, and the type I has higher Z than the type II.

Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Main Group 15 Organometallics R3M and R(Ph)2P(=N-Ar)(M = P, Sb, Bi; R = phenanthrenyl; Ar = 2,6-iPr2-C6H3)

  • New group 15 organometallic compounds, M$(phenanthrenyl)_3$ (M = P (1), Sb (2), Bi (3)) have been prepared from the reactions of 9-phenanthrenyllithium with $MCl_3$. A reaction of 9-(diphenylphosphino)phenanthrene with 2,6-diisopropylphenyl azide led to the formation of (phenanthrenyl)${(Ph)}_2P$=N-(2,6-$^iPr_2C_6H_3$) (4). The crystal structures of 2 and 4 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffractions, both of which crystallize with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Compound 2 shows a trigonal pyramidal geometry around the Sb atom with three phenanthrenyl groups being located in a screw-like fashion with an approximately $C_3$ symmetry. A significant amount of CH- -$\pi$ interaction exists between two independent molecules of 4. The phosphorus center possesses a distorted tetrahedral environment with P-N bond lengths of 1.557(3)$\AA$ (P(1) N) and 1.532(3)$\AA$ (P(2)-N), respectively, which are short enough to support a double bond character. One of the most intriguing structural features of 4 is an unusually diminished bond angle of C-N-P, attributable to the hydrogen bonding of N(1)-H(5A) [ca. 2.49$\AA$ between two adjacent molecules in crystal packing. The compounds 1-3 show purple emission both in solution and as films at room temperature with emission maxima ($\lambda_{max}$) at 349, 366, and 386 nm, respectively, attributable to the ligand centered $\pi$ $\rightarrow$ $\pi^\ast$ transition in phenanthrene contributed by the lone pair electrons of the Gp 15 elements. Yet the nature of luminescence observed with 4 differs in that it originates from $\pi$ (diisopropylbenzene)-$\pi^\ast$ (phenanthrene) transitions with the $\rho\pi$contribution from the nitrogen atom. The emission maximum of 4 is red-shifted ranging 350-450 nm due to the internal charge transfer from the phenanthrenyl ring to the N-arylamine group as deduced from the ab initio calculations.

Baxter $Infusor^{(R)}$를 이용한 경막외 진통제 지속 주입 (Clinical Experience of Continuous Epidural Analgesia Using Baxter $Infusor^{(R)}$)

  • Recently a non-electronic, disposable and portable infusor(Baxter infusor with patient control module, Baxter health care Co., Deerfield IL 60015 USA: BI $\bar{c}$ PCM) has been developed that will deliver both a continuous drug infusion as well as allow the patient to deliver extra doses of medication on a demand basis under predetermined limitation of analgesics. Patients may also not require as high analgesic dose rate to control pain when the acceptable and tolerable level of pain relief can be maintained by this device. From April l99l, we have used a total l93 units of BI $\bar{c}$ PCM. These units consisting of two components which one made by a balloon reservoir(capacity 65 ml, flow rate 0.5 ml/hr) to store medication and to regulate the pump power(490 torr), and another two PCMs to regulate additional analgesic administration by patients demand at intervals of 1S minutes and 60 minutes. The dose administered to the patient can be varied by changing the concentration of the infusate within the balloon reservoir. These devices were utilized for the pain control of 44 patients. These patients were divided into two groups. Twenty seven cases had cancer pain and 17 cases had non-cancer pain. The Touhy needle(No. l8 G.) tip was inserted into the epidural space and was used to guide the catheter to the spinal nerve level corresponding to the most painful area. The device was connected to the opposite site of the catheter tip and was filled with 60 ml of mixture solution such as 0.5% bupivacaine 15 ml, morphine HCl 10 mg, trazodone 10 ml, Tridol 3 ml and normal saline 31 ml were administed as the initial dose. When the initial dose was less effective, the next dose could be varied by increasing the concentration of bupivacaine, by adding more morphine (5~10 mg), and by reducing the volume of normal saline. Using these modules of drug self administration, we experienced the following: 1) Improvement of patient's self titration of analgesic requirement was provided. 2) The patients anxiety with pain recurrence resulting from delays in administering pain control medication was decreased significantly. 3) The working load accompanying with the single bolus injection as the usual method was reduced remarkably. 4) There was urinary retention in 5 cases and pruritus in 4 eases which developed as side effects but respiratory depression and vomiting was not encountered in a single case.
