부품 및 벤치 실험을 통한 폴리우레탄 유압 왕복 실의 가속 실험 (Component and Bench Tests of Polyurethane Hydraulic Reciprocating Seal for Accelerated Life Testing)

  • Hydraulic reciprocating seals have been widely used to prevent fluid leakage and to provide lubricant film on counter surface in various hydraulic system. The degradation of the seal may cause the catastrophic failure of the hydraulic system. To assess the durability of the seals and the compatibility with counter surface, accelerated life testing (ALT) has been typically employed from industry. However, ALT often takes up to a few months to cause a failure of the seals, and therefore, there is a need to develop more efficient ALT methods. In this work, the degradation characteristics of polyurethane (PU) seals from field test are investigated and they are compared to those from the component and bench tests, with an aim to contribute to the development of ALT method. From the comparison of the cross-sectional profiles of the sealing surface of the PU specimens before and after the tests, both wear and compression set are found to be responsible for degradation of the PU seals. It is also shown that the major wear mechanisms of the PU seals from the field is abrasive wear and formation of pits. The component and bench tests performed in this work are shown to reproduce such wear mechanisms, and therefore, those test methods can be used as an ALT method for PU seals. In particular, the bench test proposed in this work may be effectively utilized to assess the durability and the compatibility of the seals with the counter surface. The results of this work are expected to aid in the design of ALT for PU seal.

차량 NVH개선 설계를 위한 샤시 구동계의 Driveline Test Bench 구성 및 CAE 해석 (Modeling and CAE Simulation of Chassis Driveline Test Bench for Vehicle NVH Improvement)

  • The authors have investigated the NVH problems of drive system in full vehicle test. However it is difficult to define the NVH problems of driveline system. Since it is hard to measure the rotating part and it is vague that only the drive system induces the NVH problem. Vibration in a driveline is presented in this paper. In the experiment, the rear sub-frame and propeller shafts and axle were composed and mounted with rubber each other. For applying the vibration input instead of the torsional vibration effect of an engine, the shaker was taken. In particular, torsional vibration due to fluctuating forced vibration excitation across the joint between driveline and rear sub-frame was carefully examined. Accordingly, the joint response was checked from experiments and the FE-simulation using FRF (frequency response function) analysis was performed. All test results were signal processed and validated against numerical simulations. In present study, the new test bench for measuring the vibration signal and simulating the vehicle chassis system was proposed. The modal value and the mode shape of components were analyzed using the CAE model to identify the important components affecting driveline noise and vibration. It could be reached that the simplified test bench could be well established and be used for design guide and development of the vehicle chassis components.

크리징 모형을 이용한 서해 설계 기준 조위면의 추정에 관한 연구 (The Estimation of Design Tide Level over the West Coast of Korea Based on the Kriging Model)

  • 4개 주요 검조소의 기본수준점표 설정연혁을 개괄하였다. 이 검조소의 검조의 영점표고, 기본수준고, 그리고 주위기준점(Tidal Bench M막)의 자료를 수집검토하였다. 농어촌진흥공사, 수로국, 항만국 등이 조사한 지역평균 해면고(Local Mean Sea Level)를 비교하여 이들 4개 검조소지점(인천, 군산내.외항, 목포)의 평균해면고로 정의하였다. 기본수준면(DL), 평균해면(MSL), 대조평균만조면(HWOST) 등의 설계조위면을 추정하기 위하여 크리징모형을 소개하였다. 추정한 설계조위면이 표본값을 잘 표현하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이 과정에서 설계조위면의 공간경향이 평가되었으며 설계조위의 획률구조를 대표하는 반-자기분산식 ${\gamma}$(h) 이 얻어졌다. 이 결과에서 설계조위들이 자기상사 특성을 보였다. 즉, 기본수준면과 대조평균만조위의 반-자기분산값은 평균해면의 반-자기분산값의 0.005배였다.

  • The optical bench was designed using composite material, M40J/Cyanate Ester. Mechanical tests, thermal tests were carried out for M40J and structural vibration FEM analysis was performed. From the experimental results, the material properties of M40J/Cyanate Ester were obtained in longitudinal and transverse directions. By applying the properties into FEM vibration analysis, a proper stacking sequence was proposed for the laminated facesheets, so that natural frequency of the platform structure satisfy the design specification.

  • Wind turbine gearbox is a complex mechanical system that includes gear trains, shafts, bearings, and gearbox housings. All these components are interacting with each other therefore it is important to assess the whole performance by considering the individual component design. In this paper, the performance assessment of 2MW wind turbine gearbox was conducted under various operating conditions at test bench and test result was compared with the design calculation.

  • The railway signaling system consists of micro-computerized vital devices on board and ground, which are connected to one another by track circuits, and interlocking equipment for route control. Therefore it is important to validate the required functions of developed system and interface between developed signaling systems. To verify the conditions and functions of signaling functions, the laboratory prototype test bench, which consists of personal computers LAN, will be developed. In this paper design of signaling system test-bench for high-speed signaling is described and developed software module are presented.

Design Study for Pulsed Proton Beam Generation

  • Fast neutrons with a broad energy spectrum, with which it is possible to evaluate nuclear data for various research fields such as medical applications and the development of fusion reactors, can be generated by irradiating proton beams on target materials such as beryllium. To generate short-pulse proton beam, we adopted a deflector and slit system. In a simple deflector with slit system, most of the proton beam is blocked by the slit, especially when the beam pulse width is short. Therefore, the available beam current is very low, which results in low neutron flux. In this study, we proposed beam modulation using a buncher cavity to increase the available beam current. The ideal field pattern for the buncher cavity is sawtooth. To make the field pattern similar to a sawtooth waveform, a multiharmonic buncher was adopted. The design process for the multiharmonic buncher includes a beam dynamics calculation and three-dimensional electromagnetic simulation. In addition to the system design for pulsed proton generation, a test bench with a microwave ion source is under preparation to test the performance of the system. The design study results concerning the pulsed proton beam generation and the test bench preparation with some preliminary test results are presented in this paper.

VHDL을 이용한 SIC의 기술과 시뮬레이션 (A study on the Description and Simulation of a SIC using a VHDL)

  • 본 연구에서는 메사츄세츄공과대학 마이크로전자 연구소에서 개발된 프로세서 PARWAN(PAR-1)으로 불리우는 줄여진 프로세서(a reduced processor)를 VHDL을 이용하여 Behavioral Leve에서 기술하고 Dataflow Level에서 상호 연결하여 기술하였고, VHDL로 설계된 CPU의 동작을 확인하고 시뮬레이션하기 위하여 Test-bench 방식을 이용하였다. <중략> 제시된 방식은 설계의 정보교환이 용이하고 동작의 표현이 정확하고 간결하였으며, 설계의 문서화가 용이하며, 구성된 프로세서의 동작을 확인하기가 용이하였다. VHDL의 Behavioral 기술은 설계자에게 설계된 시스템을 확인할 때 많은 도움을 주었으며 Dataflow 기술은 설계의 버스연결과 레지스터 구조를 확인할 때 유용하게 사용할 수 있었다.

공공성 구현을 위한 인터랙션을 활용한 융복합 공공디자인 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Public Interaction Design Convergence)

  • 공공 디자인에서 공공성의 실현 여부를 판단하는 데는 해당 디자인의 수행 과정과 방향성 등 다양한 측면이 고려 돼야한다. 공공 디자인이란 공공성을 갖춘 디자인이다. 그럼에도 무엇보다도 사용자에게 미적관심을 유발시키는 것이 우선이다. 한편, 디자인의 편의성은 심미성을 높이는데 기여하기도 한다. 연구자가 시도한 융복합적인 인터랙션을 적용한 공공디자인은 공공장소에서 사적 영역의 보호와 같은 공공성을 체험토록 기획하였다. 꽃술을 모티브로 하여 심미성에 바탕을 두면서 기능적으로는 뉴미디어의 인터랙션을 활용한 이 공용 벤치 디자인 제안은 사용자의 미적 반응에서 시작하여 편의성과 쾌적함 나아가 사용자가 체험하는 공공성의 경험이 공공 디자인의 의미와 가치판단을 가능하게 하는 요소임을 제시한다.

항공전자 시스템 통합시험장비 개발 (Development of Avionics Hot Bench for Avionics System Integration Test)

  • 본 논문에서는 비행운용프로그램 검증 및 항공전자 장비 고장탐구에 사용되는 항공전자시스템 통합시험장비(Avionics Hot Bench) 개발에 대한 내용을 기술하였다. 산업분야에서 전통적 AHB는 자사 보유 소프트웨어 및 신뢰성 있는 하드웨어를 오랜 기간 통합하여 개발되며 기술이전에는 일반적으로 큰 비용이 요구된다. 개발 기간과 비용을 절감하기위해 다수의 기성개발품을 활용하였으며, 개방형 시스템 구조를 적용하여 실제 항공전자 시스템 개발에 사용될 수 있는 AHB를 개발하였다. 검증절차서에 입각하여 T-50 항공전자 시스템 개발에 사용된 기 입증된 AHB의 테스트 결과와 개발된 AHB의 테스트 결과를 엄밀히 비교하였으며 만족스러운 비교 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
