The breakwater of surface-piercing type has been developed mainly for application within bays or estuaries that are semi-protected from the direct impact of targe waves. Most of bays have soft foundation which is too weak to bear the weight of gravity type breakwater. (omitted)

We study chromospheric oscillations including umbral flashes and running penumbral waves in a sunspot using scanning spectroscopy in H-alpha and Ca II 8542A, with the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) at the 1.6 meter New Solar Telescope at Big Bear Solar Observatory. A bisector method is applied to spectral observations to construct chromospheric Doppler velocity maps. Temporal sequence analysis of these shows enhanced high-frequency oscillations inside the sunspot umbra in both lines. Their peak frequency gradually decreases outward from the umbra. The oscillation power is found to be associated with magnetic-field strength and inclination, with different relationships in different frequency bands.

Actinorhizal plants being capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen in symbiotic association with Frankia were surveyed for their root nodules, and the root nodules were collected for further studies. Three species of Alnus and Elaeagnus (A. hirsuta, a. firma, A. japonica; E. glabra, e. umbellata, E. macrophylla) and one species of Myrica (M. rubura) were confirmed to bear the root nodules of typical external shape. Morphological studies using light microscope and scanning electron microscope revealed the presence of vesicle clusters in the cortex region of the root. Two tentative endophyte colonies were isolated from the root nodule of A. hirsuta.

We proposed a method for increasing visibility of dehazed images by enhancing luminance component of dehazed image. For this purpose, we analyze shape of luminance histogram in multi bunches and observe that increasing visibility those bunches does not bear over contrast enhancement. From the analysis and observation, histogram equalization intends to increase visibility of each bunch with less computation.

Ground in must choose enough sectional area of conductor endurably in maximum fault current, fault duration time, maximum allowable temperature and have strong durability and life-time can bear enough from spontaneous corrosion or electrolytic corrosion and must choose material that problem does not exist electrically and mechanically when connection or junction. In this paper, modeled new ground wire size numerical formula, and examine and compare of modeled numerical formula and abroad regulation, and proved and analyzed validity of the new ground wire size computation method because do simulation to computer program.

Reproductive and life history patterns of marine amphipods are influenced by a variety of biotic and abiotic factors. Those factors may vary on local scales or along geographic patterns and result local or geographic variations in reproduction and life history. Although many studies in life history of amphipods were carried out at various habitats, limited information on the life history and reproduction at a shallow sandy shore 〈 1 m depth is available (Bear and Moore, 1996). The ultimate capacities of a rubber bearing are defined by compressive stress, shear strain, and stabilized roster ing force. The experiments were conducted with parameters of shesr elasticity(G) and first shape factor(S1), second shape factor(S2) for rubber bearing. Considering with test results, the ultimate capacities were verified, and furthermore the influence of those parameters were clarified. Using test results stable deformation of rubber bearings for designing was proposed.

A new species of Baetidae (Ephemeroptera), Procloeon spinosum Nguyen and Bae, is described from Vietnam. The larva of P. spinosum can be distinguished from that of its congeners by the combination of the characters of the 7th gills, which bear spines on the posterobasal margin, and the terminal segment of maxillary palp, which is approximately 1/3 times length of the 2nd segment. The larvae inhabit pools or slow current margins of mountain streams in Northern Vietnam.

질병의 발생과 치료 과정에서 통증의 정도를 수치나 구두, 행동 등으로 통증 등급 척도를 나타내게 되는데 예를 들면 불쾌감 척도에서는 통증으로 인해 "귀찮다", "불쾌하다", "짜증스럽다", "괴롭다", "고통스럽다", "견디기 어렵다", "매우 견디기 어렵다"의 등의 순서로 통증척도를 나타낸다. 우울증은 스스로가 인지하기 어렵기 때문에 상황인식 기반을 전제로 하여 본 논문에서는 우울증을 유발할 수 있는 생활 습관이나 생체 신호를 통해 알 수 있는 우울증의 구성요소를 정의하고 우울증의 상태를 이해할 수 있도록 온톨로지 모델링을 통해 우울 지수를 도출하였다. 우울증 구성요소와 우울 지수의 도출은 우울증에 대한 상황 인식 기반의 정보 서비스를 가능할 것이며, 상황인식 기반 디바이스와 결합하고 동기화하여 우울지수의 결과를 확인할 수 있도록 하고자 하며 우울증의 요인이 되는 생활습관을 개선하는데 적용할 수 있을 것이다.
