Pyromellitic dianhydride as a cathode interfacial layer in the organic light emitting diodes: thickness optimization and its electroluminescent characteristics

  • In this work, pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) was used as a cathode interfacial layer in the organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and its thickness was optimized. Various electrical and optical characterizations of the OLEDs having various thicknesses of the PMDA cathode interfacial layer revealed that the best OLED performance could be achieved by using 0.5 nm-thick PMDA layer compared to the control device without any interfacial layer.

  • 고준위폐기물 기준처분시스템의 건전성과 처분안전성의 실험적 검증에 필수적인 지하처분연구시설의 기본설계 도출을 위한 연구가 수행되었다. 먼저 지하처분연구시설의 부지에 대해 간단히 기술하고, 이 부지에 건설될 지하처분연구시설의 기본개념을 제시하고자 하였다. 제시된 기본개념을 충족시키기 위한 지하처분연구시설의 설계 요구사항을 설정하고, 이러한 기본개념과 설계요구사항을 바탕으로 지하처분연구시설의 기본설계를 수행하였다. 또 향후 지하처분연구시설에서 수행될 연구항목을 도출하였다.

기초연구지원사업의 재정소요 전망 도출을 위한 시계열 모형 수립 연구 (A Study on Establishment of Time Series Model for Deriving Financial Outlook of Basic Research Support Programs)

  • 기초연구 분야는 정부의 적극적인 지원으로 양적 확대가 큰 폭으로 이루어지는 반면, 체계적인 투자계획이나 데이터에 기반한 재정소요를 제시하는 연구 및 정책자료가 전무하여 관련 연구가 요구되는 시점이다. 이에 본 연구는 시계열 예측모형을 활용하여 기초연구지원사업의 향후 재정소요를 전망하였다. 기초연구분야의 특성을 포함한 다양한 요인들을 종합적으로 고려하기 위하여 시간에 따른 단일 종속변수의 값을 예측하는 ARIMA 모형이 아닌, 다변수의 영향을 반영할 수 있는 ARIMAX 모형을 선택하였다. 모형 적합성 판단을 위해 ARIMAX 모형과 ARIMA 모형의 예측값을 비교한 결과 ARIMAX 모형에서 예측오차율이 개선됨을 확인하였다. ARIMAX 모형에 기반하여 2017년에서 2021년까지 5년 간의 기초연구지원사업 재정소요를 전망하였다. 본 연구는 기초연구지원사업의 재정소요를 통계적 접근방법인 시계열모형을 적용해 전망한 시범적 연구를 수행하였다는 점과, 단변량이 아닌 다변량을 고려하여 예측력을 개선했다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다. 또한 현 정부 국정과제인 '기초연구 예산 2배 확대' 등 기초연구 투자의 중요성이 꾸준히 강조되는 정책기조를 고려할 때 향후 기초연구 투자전략 수립 시 참고자료로 활용 될 수 있다.

40-㎓-band Low Noise Amplifier MMIC with Ultra Low Gain Flatness

  • This paper introduces the design and implementation of 40-㎓-band low noise amplifier (LNA) with ultra low gain flatness for wide-band wireless multimedia and satellite communication systems. The 40-㎓-band 4-stage LNA MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) demonstrates a small signal gain of more than 20 ㏈, an input return loss of 10.3 ㏈, and an output return loss of 16.3 ㏈ for 37$\square$42 ㎓. The gain flatness of the 40-㎓-band 4-stage LNA MMIC was 0.1 ㏈ for 37$\square$42 ㎓. The noise figure of the 40 ㎓-band LNA was simulated to be less than 2.7 dB for 37~42 ㎓. The chip size of the 4-stage LNA MMIC was 3.7${\times}$1.7 $\textrm{mm}^2$.

  • We fabricated ramp-edge Josephson junctions with barriers formed by interface treatments instead of epitaxially grown barrier layers. Low-dielectric Sr$_2AITaO_6$(SAT) layer was used as an ion-milling mask as well as an insulating layer for the ramp-edge junctions. An ion-milled YBa$_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ (YBCO)-edge surface was not exposed to solvent through all fabrication procedures. The barriers were produced by structural modification at the bottom YBCO edge using plasma treatment prior to deposition of the top YBCO electrode. We investigated the effects of pre-annealing and post-annealing on the characteristics of the interface-treated Josephson junctions. The junction parameters were improved by using in-situ RF plasma cleaning treatment.

AFLP 분석을 통한 포공영 기원식물 민들레의 유전 다양성 분석 (Genetic Diversity of the Original Plant for Taraxaci Herba, Taraxacum spp. by the Analysis of AFLP)

  • Collected germplasms of five representative dandelion species (Taraxacum ohwianum, T. platycarpum, T. platypecidum, T. officinale, and T. coreanum) were 104 lines from different habitates in Korea and China. Their genetic diversity was analyzed by genomic fingerprinting method using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). AFLP results of 6 primer combinations were revealed 1,176 total DNA fragments and 523 polymorphic bands with a 44.4% ratio of polymorphism. On the basis of similarity coefficient analysis by unweight pair group method with arithmetic averages (UPGMA), 104 dandelion germplasm lines were ranged from 0.64 to 0.99 and clustered distinct five group depending on the species. Furthermore, a principal coordinate analysis (PCA) by the application of multi-variate analysis indicated significantly greater differences among species than geographical origins.

  • Ionic liquids (ILs) have been extensively investigated as promising alternatives to conventional organic solvents such as sulfolane and N,N-dimethylformamide for the selective extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons from the $C_6-C_{10}$ hydrocarbon mixtures produced from the cracking processes of naphtha and light oils. The most important advantage of ILs over conventional organic solvents is that they are immiscible with aliphatic hydrocarbons, and thus the back extraction of ILs from the raffinate phases and top hydrocarbon-rich layers is not necessary. In this paper, a brief review on the state of the art in the utilization of ILs for aromatics separation is presented.

A Multidimensional System for Phosphopeptide Analysis Using TiO2 Enrichment and Ion-exchange Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry

  • Although offline enrichment of phosphorylated peptides is widely used, enrichment for phosphopeptides using $TiO_2$ is often performed manually, which is labor-intensive and can lead to irreproducible results. To address the problems associated with offline enrichment and to improve the effectiveness of phosphopeptide detection, we developed an automated online enrichment system for phosphopeptide analysis. A standard protein mixture comprising BSA, fetuin, crystalline, ${\alpha}$-casein and ${\beta}$-casein, and ovalbumin was assessed using our new system. Our multidimensional system has four main parts: a sample pump, a 20-mm $TiO_2$-based column, a weak anion-exchange, and a strong cation-exchange (2:1 WAX:SCX) separation column with LC/MS. Phosphorylated peptides were successfully detected using the $TiO_2$-based online system with little interference from nonphosphorylated peptides. Our results confirmed that our online enrichment system is a simple and efficient method for detecting phosphorylated peptides.
