A Study on Converting the Theological Thesaurus to the Ontology by Using SKOS (SKOS를 이용한 신학 시소러스의 온톨로지로의 변환에 관한 연구)

  • In order to convert a thesaurus described by a person to ontology, the first step is to translate the thesaurus to the ontology by using SKOS, which is suitable for conversion to ontology and was chose an international standard by W3C. SKOS is suitable for converting thesaurus or subject headings or classification system to ontology, but we need a web language to describe an ontology as RDF/XML. RDF/XML is so difficult to read and write that we can need RDFa embedded in HTML document or Turtle, which is more easily describable and readable. Along with description using SKOS, this research has experimentally constructed the ontology by using ontology construction program $Prot{\acute{e}}g{\acute{e}}$ 4.2. In addition to basic concept relationships of thesaurus like equivalent relationship, hierarchical relationships, association relationships transitive hierarchical relationships are included suggested by SKOS in this research.

Construction of a Knowledge Schema for Food Additive Information Using Ontology (온톨로지를 이용한 식품첨가물 정보 지식의 구축)

  • Studies for efficient information retrieval and reuse of information resources using the ontology techniques are being in progress in various fields. In this paper, we build an ontology to provide a food additive information for consumers given by the KFDA and food safety information portal. Food additives were represented in OWL based knowledge using $Prot{\acute{e}}g{\acute{e}}$. We defined Class, Property, Relationships for providing food additives names, origins, purposes and basic information. In order to retrieve the information of the food additive, we built 679 instances with an ontology, and confirmed the results through DL Query queries. We can expect that the food additives ontology shown in this paper will help the integration and improvement of the information retrieval systems of the related fields in future.

Development of Accident Classification Model and Ontology for Effective Industrial Accident Analysis based on Textmining (효과적인 산업재해 분석을 위한 텍스트마이닝 기반의 사고 분류 모형과 온톨로지 개발)

  • Accident analysis is an essential process to make basic data for accident prevention. Most researches depend on survey data and accident statistics to analyze accidents, but these kinds of data are not sufficient for systematic and detailed analysis. We, in this paper, propose an accident classification model that extracts task type, original cause materials, accident type, and the number of deaths from accident reports. The classification model is a support vector machine (SVM) with word occurrence features, and these features are selected based on mutual information. Experiment shows that the proposed model can extract task type, original cause materials, accident type, and the number of deaths with almost 100% accuracy. We also develop an accident ontology to express the information extracted by the classification model. Finally, we illustrate how the proposed classification model and ontology effectively works for the accident analysis. The classification model and ontology are expected to effectively analyze various accidents.

  • In the architectural space, the user's behavior is the most important factor in evaluating the quality of architecture. Normally, the evaluation of user behavioral performance was carried out after a building was completed. Recently, interest in and efforts at pre-simulation based on information technology are accelerating. However, since existing user simulation technology is concerned mainly with simply escaping from a large space, it is impossible to simulate the behavior of multiple users in an architectural space. The present study strives to develop a human-figured intelligent agent for advanced user simulation based on ontology. The main purpose of the study is to employ the intelligent behaviors of a NPC(Non-player Character) to infer the ontology of both spatial and user information. In this paper, we intend to integrate ontology inference technology into the virtual space. And also, this study suggest the ontology visualization technology which illustrate the ontology-based information and their change in the spatial information.

  • This paper introduces techniques to recommend standardized tags using tag ontology. Tag recommendation consists of TWCIDF and TWCITC; the former technique automatically tags a large quantity of already existing document groups, and the latter recommends tagging for new documents. Tag groups are created through several processes, including preprocessing, standardization using tag ontology, automatic tagging and defining ranks for recommendation. In the preprocessing process, in order to search semantic compound nouns, words are combined to establish basic word groups. In the standardization process, typographical errors and similar words are processed. As a result of experiments conducted on the basis of techniques presented in this paper, it is proved that real-time automatic tagging and tag recommendation is possible while guaranteeing the accuracy of tag recommendation.

Differential Expression of Gene Profiles in MRGX-treated Lung Cancer

  • Objectives: Modified regular ginseng extract (MRGX) has stronger anti-cancer activity-possessing gensenoside profiles. Methods: To investigate changes in gene expression in the MRGX-treated lung cancer cells (A549), we examined genomic data with cDNA microarray results. After completing the gene-ontology-based analysis, we grouped the genes into up-and down-regulated profiles and into ontology-related regulated genes and proteins through their interaction network. Results: One hundred nine proteins that were up- and down-regulated by MRGX were queried by using IPA. IL8, MMP7 and PLAUR and were found to play a major role in the anti-cancer activity in MRGX-treated lung cancer cells. These results were validated using a Western blot analysis and a semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis. Conclusions: Most MRGX-responsive genes are up-regulated transiently in A549 cells, but down-regulated in a sustained manner in lung cancer cells.

  • The document transformation system is more widely used in order to transform business documents efficiently in diverse organization. In established researches on document transformation systems have been carried mainly focused on XML however, it is not only transformed XML form but also EDI or local form in realistic import and export process. Particularly, in the most completed research relate on document transformation, they used ontology to get rid of non-efficiency in the connection of XML schema by manual. Hence, those researches are lack of features, which are construct and modify the domain ontology automatically and the size wasn't enough to realize itself. In this paper we study development of ontology and basic system, which is critical in intelligent document conversion system. And we develop an ontology with editor can be modified and complemented by users, as well as we make it used in real import and export business process.

The Basic Concepts Classification as a Bottom-Up Strategy for the Semantic Web

  • The paper proposes that the Basic Concepts Classification (BCC) could serve as the controlled vocabulary for the Semantic Web. The BCC uses a synthetic approach among classes of things, relators, and properties. These are precisely the sort of concepts required by RDF triples. The BCC also addresses some of the syntactic needs of the Semantic Web. Others could be added to the BCC in a bottom-up process that carefully evaluates the costs, benefits, and best format for each rule considered.

  • This paper proposes a ontology of tree structure approach for adaptive object recognition in a situation-variant environment. In this paper, we introduce a new concept, ontology of tree structure ontology, for context sensitivity, as we found that many developed systems work in a context-invariant environment. Due to the effects of illumination on a supreme obstinate designing context-sensitive recognition system, we have focused on designing such a context-variant system using ontology of tree structure. Ontology can be defined as an explicit specification of conceptualization of a domain typically captured in an abstract model of how people think about things in the domain. People produce ontologies to understand and explain underlying principles and environmental factors. In this research, we have proposed context ontology, context modeling, context adaptation, and context categorization to design ontology of tree structure based on illumination criteria. After selecting the proper light-ontology domain, we benefit from selecting a set of actions that produces better performance on that domain. We have carried out extensive experiments on these concepts in the area of object recognition in a dynamic changing environment, and we have achieved enormous success, which will enable us to proceed on our basic concepts.

Measuring the Confidence of Human Disaster Risk Case based on Text Mining (텍스트마이닝 기반의 인적재난사고사례 신뢰도 측정연구)

  • Deducting the risk level of infrastructure and buildings based on past human disaster risk cases and implementing prevention measures are important activities for disaster prevention. The object of this study is to measure the confidence to proceed quantitative analysis of various disaster risk cases through text mining methodology. Indeed, by examining confidence calculation process and method, this study suggests also a basic quantitative framework. The framework to measure the confidence is composed into four stages. First step describes correlation by categorizing basic elements based on human disaster ontology. Secondly, terms and cases of Term-Document Matrix will be created and the frequency of certain cases and terms will be quantified, the correlation value will be added to the missing values. In the third stage, association rules will be created according to the basic elements of human disaster risk cases. Lastly, the confidence value of disaster risk cases will be measured through association rules. This kind of confidence value will become a key element when deciding a risk level of a new disaster risk, followed up by preventive measures. Through collection of human disaster risk cases related to road infrastructure, this study will demonstrate a case where the four steps of the quantitative framework and process had been actually used for verification.
