We, in this paper, study the commutativity of skew polynomials at zero as a generalization of an ${\alpha}-rigid$ ring, introducing the concept of strongly skew reversibility. A ring R is be said to be strongly ${\alpha}-skew$ reversible if the skew polynomial ring $R[x;{\alpha}]$ is reversible. We examine some characterizations and extensions of strongly ${\alpha}-skew$ reversible rings in relation with several ring theoretic properties which have roles in ring theory.

The aim in this note is to describe some classes of rings in relation to factorization by prime radical, upper nilradical, and Jacobson radical. We introduce the concepts of tpr ring, tunr ring, and tjr ring in the process, respectively. Their ring theoretical structures are investigated in relation to various sorts of factor rings and extensions. We also study the structure of noncommutative tpr (tunr, tjr) rings of minimal order, which can be a base of constructing examples of various ring structures. Various sorts of structures of known examples are studied in relation with the topics of this note.

현존하는 국내외 인터넷 경매시스템은 경매하고자하는 상품을 게시하고 그 상품에 대해 경매 입찰자들이 입찰(bid)을 제시함으로 해서 최종적으로 경매 시간 내에 가장 높은 입찰가를 제시하는 경매 입찰자에게 거래가 낙찰되는 형식이 사용되고 있다. 하지만 인터페이스 부분에 있어서 사용자의 편의성을 고려하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 경매 참여자에게 지속적인 입찰제시와 확인 등의 여러 가지의 사용자 행위를 요구하므로 전자상거래의 고객 편의를 위한 One-step processing을 만족시키지 못하고 있으며 사용자의 행위를 대신하여주는 에이전트를 이용한 자동 처리 부분은 거의 고려하지 않은 시스템이므로 사용자의 편의성 면에서 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 자동적으로 사용자를 위해 입찰 행위를 대신하여 주는 사용자 입찰 가격 전략 알고리즘을 제안하여 기존에 사용되었던 일반적인 경매 시스템의 단점을 보완하여 효율적인 입찰 가격 정책을 이용하며 또한, 모든 일련의 경매에 대한 사용자 행위를 MIME(Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) 프로토콜을 이용한 메일 양식에 응답만으로 모든 경매 서비스를 받을 수 있는 인터넷 경매 시\ulcorner템을 설계 및 구현하고자 한다.

This paper describes some properties of a discrete algebraic Riccati equation and its application to $H^{\infty}$ control design. The conditions, under which an input weighting matrix can be found for a negative output weighting matrix in order that a solution P for a discrete algebraic equation may exist, are suggested in case of a stable A. This result is applied to a $H^{\infty}$ controller design for the special case of nonsingular B. It is based on a state feedback control law whose objective is to reduce the effect of input disterbances below a prespecified level. This law requires the solution of a modified algebraic Riccati equation, which provides an method for the $H^{\infty}$ optimization control problem approximately.ly.

The repeated loading responses of four shear-critical reinforced concrete beams, with two different shear span-to-depth ratios, were studied. One series of beams was reinforced using pairs of bundled stirrups with $90^{\circ}C$ standard hooks, having free end extensions of $6d_b$. The companion beams contained shear reinforcement made with larger diameter headed bars anchored with 50mm diameter circular heads. A single headed bar had the same area as a pair of bundled stirrups and hence the two series were comparable. The test results indicate that beams containing headed bar stirrups have a superior performance to companion beams containing bundled standard stirrups, with improved ductility, larger energy adsorption and enhanced post-peak load carrying capability. Due to splitting of the concrete cover and local crushing, the hooks of the standard stirrups opened, resulting in loss of anchorage. In contrast, the headed bar stirrups did not lose their anchorage and hence were able to develop strain hardening and also served to delay buckling of the flexural compression steel. Excellent load-deflection predictions were obtained by reducing the tension stiffening to account for repeated load effects.

Motzkin and Straus established a close connection between the maximum clique problem and a solution (namely graph-Lagrangian) to the maximum value of a class of homogeneous quadratic multilinear functions over the standard simplex of the Euclidean space in 1965. This connection and its extensions were successfully employed in optimization to provide heuristics for the maximum clique problem in graphs. It is useful in practice if similar results hold for hypergraphs. In this paper, we develop a homogeneous multilinear function based on the structure of hypergraphs and their complement hypergraphs. Its maximum value generalizes the graph-Lagrangian. Specifically, we establish a connection between the clique number and the generalized graph-Lagrangian of 3-uniform graphs, which supports the conjecture posed in this paper.

Anatomical comparison of 3 North American species with commercial name of redcedar was executed to provide taxonomic information for prevention of confusion and establishment of sound business transaction in the wood market. Eastern redcedar (Juniperus virginiana) and southern redcedar (Juniperus silicicola) could not be separated on the basis of microstructure and ultrastructure of wood. Western redcedar (Thuja plicata), however, appeared to be obviously separated from eastern and southern redcedar in a number of microscopic and ultramicroscopic features. Useful features for separating these two groups were intercellular spaces in transverse surface, latewood width, radial intertracheid pitting, warty layer and pits with torus extensions in tracheids, ray composition, nodular end walls in ray parenchyma cells, and cross-field pitting.

In this paper, we initiate the study of some annihilator conditions on polynomials which were used by Kaplansky [Rings of operators. W. A. Benjamin, Inc., New York, 1968] to abstract the algebra of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert spaces with Baer condition. On the other hand, p.p.-rings were introduced by Hattori [A foundation of torsion theory for modules over general rings. Nagoya Math. J. 17 (1960) 147-158] to study the torsion theory. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the near-rings with Baer condition and near-rings with p.p. condition which are somewhat different from ring case, and to extend a results of Armendariz [A note on extensions of Baer and P.P.-rings. J. Austral. Math. Soc. 18 (1974), 470-473] and Jøndrup [p.p. rings and finitely generated flat ideals. Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 28 (1971) 431-435].

In this note, an alternative proof and extensions are provided for the following conclusions in [6, Theorem 1 and Theorem 3]: The functions $\frac1{x^2}-\frac{e^{-x}}{(1-e^{-x})^2}\;and\;\frac1{t}-\frac1{e^t-1}$ are decreasing in (0, ${\infty}$) and the function $\frac{t}{e^{at}-e^{(a-1)t}}$ for a $a{\in}\mathbb{R}\;and\;t\;{\in}\;(0,\;{\infty})$ is logarithmically concave.

A ring R is called IFP, due to Bell, if ab = 0 implies aRb = 0 for a, b $\in$ R. Huh et al. showed that the IFP condition is not preserved by polynomial ring extensions. In this note we concentrate on a generalized condition of the IFPness that can be lifted up to polynomial rings, introducing the concept of quasi-IFP rings. The structure of quasi-IFP rings will be studied, characterizing quasi-IFP rings via minimal strongly prime ideals. The connections between quasi-IFP rings and related concepts are also observed in various situations, constructing necessary examples in the process. The structure of minimal noncommutative (quasi-)IFP rings is also observed.
