The Characteristics of Combustion and Exhaust Emission according to Operating Condition and Fuel Composition in a Direct Injection Type HCCI Diesel Engine (직분식 예혼합 압축착화 디젤엔진의 운전조건과 연료조성에 따른 연소 및 배기 특성)

  • The Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine has advantage for reducing the NOx and P.M. simultaneously. Therefore, HCCI engine is receiving attention as a low emission diesel engine concept. This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of combustion and exhaust emission for operating conditions in a direct injection type of HCCI engines such as supercharged and naturally aspirated using diesel fuel and additive. From the experimental result, we found that cool flame was always appeared and also it was difficult to control combustion characteristics by changing the injection timing in HCCI. In addition, at the lean air-fuel ratio and high speed range, it was observed that charging air pressure, additive or increasing intake air temperature is effective to increase combustion performance and reduce exhaust emission. We concluded that chemical reaction by the increasing intake air temperature or additive without physical improvement has limitation for reduction of exhaust emission.

  • Common rail injection system is flexible in injection timing, injection duration and pressure in engine. Many researches have reported on the merits in the application of common rail systems. This research investigated on characteristics and performance for single cylinder diesel engine with a common .ail injection system by varying major parameters such as injection timing, injection duration and common rail pressure. The injection timing and injection duration were controlled by electronic pulse generated. and common rail pressure were controlled by PCV driver. The 498cc single cylinder diesel engine was used in this experiment. All data for combustion pressure, injection timing and injection duration were recorded by Labview. Furthermore, this test was focused on how to optimize injection conditions.

  • ITR(Inne. Tie Rod) is one of the core parts in an automobile steering system. The front wheels are connected to the steering system, which are controlled by steering wheel through the ITR. Improvement of assembling ITR is needed f3r drivers' satisfaction. Therefore, the parameters influencing the rotational torque were studied and analyzed. The useful results can be obtained, and could be applied to manufacture ITR. Through these manufacturing technologies, high quality ITR have been manufactured with high productivity.

  • It is well known that the amount of hot-dip Zn coated sheet steels used for automotive is rapidly increasing. As hot-dip steel sheets show good corrosion resistance and excellent formability, the demand for outer panel of automotive has been increased in order to satisfy with the requirement of high surface qualify. There are many kinds of factors influencing on the surface quality and the dross control in the galvanising bath is regarded as one of the most important thing. In this study the characteristic and growing behavior of dross in the galvanizing bath were investigated and the effect of dross on the surface defect of GA was surveyed. The dross defects on the GA sheet steels result from bottom dross whose diameter are larger 50$\mu\textrm{m}$ in the Zn pot. Dross-free state exist for about 30 hours from starting time of GA production.

  • 비대칭 배리어 방법으로 설계된 견인용 매입형 영구자석동기전동기(IPMSM)에 대한 최대토크 제어기법을 Simplorer기반 시뮬레이션해석에 의해 고찰한다. 그리고 레졸버와 R/D 컨버터를 이용하여 회전자의 절대위치를 검출하고, 이를 위한 절대 위치 검출회로 및 제어보드를 제작하여 이에 대한 유효성을 실험을 통해 성능을 확인한다.

  • In this study, structural and fatigue analyses of the motor gears that control the height of car seat were carried out at angles of $10^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, and $30^{\circ}$. The study aims at examining which angle of the gear is superior in terms of effect on strength. In the structural and fatigue analyses, the force of 3136 N was applied to the gears, and the stress and deformation were obtained. As the analysis results, model B ($30^{\circ}$) is suggested to have the best strength and fatigue durability among the three models.

  • Photocurable hydrogels are widely used as 3D printing materials in tissue engineering (e.g., scaffold fabrication) as well as optical fibers (or optical sensors) materials. Photocurable hydrogels can control optical and mechanical properties such as chemical or fabrication conditions. In previous research, we introduced a new 3D printing method to fabricate a freestanding overhanging hydrogel structure without supporting structure. This study was measured and analyzed the difference of the mechanical properties of the photocurable hydrogel according to the light intensity using a micro tensile tester. In practically, it was difficult to perform a direct tensile test on a micro (less than 1 mm) size fiber. In this study, the tensile test of the hydrogel fibers could be measured simply and repeatedly using a paper carrier.

  • Peeling and dimensional deformation that occur during a manufacturing process are accompanied by an increase in the manufacturing cost and production time caused by manufacturing defects. In order to solve this problem, it is essential to predict risk factors at the design stage through computational analysis of the additive manufacturing process and to control shape distortion due to residual stress. In this study, the dimensional characteristics were improved by applying the distortion compensation design through computational analysis to minimize the distortion occurring in the DMLS(Direct Metal Laser Sintering) method of the metal additive manufacturing process.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) research is recently actively underway. Especially, fuel cell battery hybrid systems are widely used to overcome the limitations of continuous operation. However, fuel cell systems must be operated in combination with a battery due to their low specific output characteristics. Therefore, a hybrid power system model for UAVs is developed. The rule-based strategy is applied to the model to properly distribute power to batteries and fuel cells. As a result, the designed rule-based power distribution control operates UAVs while maintaining battery state of charge(SOC) at an appropriate level.

  • The purpose of this paper analyzes and studies to improve the failure cases on the computer that one of electronic control elements for engine in liquified petroleum gas vehicle. The first case, it certified the non-starting phenomenon of engine that it's electronic control unit didn't control the fuel for idle speed actuator because of no given action signal in slow-cut solenoid valve. The second case, it knew the bad condition phenomenon of engine and back-fire by the wire melting of ignition coil and firing of transistor being inside ECU. The third case, it certified the action stoping phenomenon of engine and malfunctioning signal for engine ECU because of leakage of current and an excess current by moisture inflowing inside ECU curcuit plate. Therefore, it is thought that will elevate the durability and reliability of engine computer throughout procure of quality.
