  • Coordination of multiple UAVs is an essential technology for various applications in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. In general, it includes 1) waypoints assignment and 2) trajectory generation. In this paper, we propose a new method for this problem. First, we modify the concept of the standard visibility graph to greatly improve the optimality of the generated trajectories and reduce the computational complexity. Second, we propose an efficient stochastic approach using simulated annealing that assigns waypoints to each UAV from the constructed visibility graph. Third, we describe a method to detect collision between two UAVs. FinallY, we suggest an efficient method of controlling the velocity of UAVs using A* algorithm in order to avoid inter-UAV collision. We present simulation results from various environments that verify the effectiveness of our approach.

  • In this paper, building energy analysis and energy cost of power stand up and demand control over the power proposed to reduce power demand. Through analysis of the load power demand special day were able to apply the pattern. In addition, the existing rate of change of load forecasting to reduce the large errors were not previously available data. And daily schedules and special day for considering the exponential smoothing methods were used. Previous year's special day and the previous day due to the uncertainty of the load and the model components were considered. The maximum demand power control simulation using the fuzzy control of power does not exceed the contract. Through simulation, the benefits of the proposed energy-saving techniques were demonstrated.

  • Robots are widely used in various automation processes in industrial applications. Traditionally, it operated under fixed condition by teaching operating positions. Recently, diverse 2D/3D sensors are used together with robot to give more flexibility in operation. In this paper, we deal with automatic manipulation of tie rod in automotive production line. Sensor system consisted of a camera and slit laser is used for the acquisition of 3D information and it is used attached on the robot. Nut runner is used for the manipulation of stop nut and adjust bolt on the tie rod. Detailed procedures for the automatic manipulation of tie rod are presented. In the presented approach, we effectively use 3D information in whole procedure such as computing distance to the tie rod, rotation angle of bolt and nut. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

  • Viscous flow around a front end cooling fan of the car is numerically investigated. The Navier-Stokes equations and the continuity equation are solved in the flow domain. The Reynolds stresses are modelled using the $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. The governing equations are discretized with the Finite Volume Method. The pressure and the velocity are linked with the SIMPLE algorithm. Flow and pressure characteristics around the fan are investigated. The pressure sharply increases through the fan blade. Pressure variations on the pressure and suction sides of the fan are well represened in the calculations. The flow streamlines in the blade passage are nearly parallel to the blade, but the slope of streamlines increases near the tip.

  • The contribution of this paper is to provide the methods for the production automation of potato microtuber using the vision process in growth monitoring. The first method deals with computation for the growth density in the primary growth process. The second method addresses cognition process to identify the number and the volume of potato microtuber in secondary growth process. The third is to decide whether potato microtubers are infected by a virus or bacteria in growth process. The computation for the growth density in the primary growth process uses the method of Labeling. The second and third methods use template matching based on color patterns. With the developed method using vision process, this experiment is capable of discriminating weekly growth-rate in primary growth process, 85% cognition rate in secondary process and identifying whether there are infections. Therefore, we conclude that our experimental results are capable of growth monitoring for mass production of potato microtubers.

  • This study is concerned on the automation for cell diagnosis which has better objectivity and speed of test than human beings. Diagnosis is on the basis of shape change of abnormal Cells. Used parameters are nucleus area, nucleus perimeter, nucleus shape, cytoplasm area, nucleus/cytoplsm ratio, which was obtained using image processing technics. A new mode method is proposed on the automatic threshold selection for superior process time compared with Otsu's. Contour of the cytoplasm of abnormal cell is obtained using me- dian filter and sorel operator. The mask to get only original shape of abnormal cells is formed uslng the contour filling algorithm. In the result the normal cells are separated from the abnormal cells and the abnormal cells can be distinguished through screwing of abnormal cell's image with reference data to judge abnormal cells. Owing to this study the number of inspections which the pathologists should examine will be decreased and the time for inspection will be shortened.

  • This work presents an IR-based system for parking assistance and obstacle detection in the automotive field that employs the Microsoft Kinect camera for fast 3D point cloud reconstruction. In contrast to previous research that attempts to explicitly identify obstacles, the proposed system aims to detect "reachable regions" of the environment, i.e., those regions where the vehicle can drive to from its current position. A user-friendly 2D traversability grid of cells is generated and used as a visual aid for parking assistance. Given a raw 3D point cloud, first each point is mapped into individual cells, then, the elevation information is used within a graph-based algorithm to label a given cell as traversable or non-traversable. Following this rationale, positive and negative obstacles, as well as unknown regions can be implicitly detected. Additionally, no flat-world assumption is required. Experimental results, obtained from the system in typical parking scenarios, are presented showing its effectiveness for scene interpretation and detection of several types of obstacle.

  • This paper presents a bin picking method using a slit beam laser in which a robot recognizes all of the unoccluded objects from the top of jumbled objects, and picks them up one by one. Once those unoccluded objects are removed, newly developed unoccluded objects underneath are recognized and the same process is continued until the bin gets empty. To recognize unoccluded objects, a new algorithm to link edges on slices which are generated by the orthogonally mounted laser on the xy table is proposed. The edges on slices are partitioned and classified using convex and concave function with a distance parameter. The edge types on the neighborhood slices are compared, then the hamming distances among identical kinds of edges are extracted as the features of fuzzy membership function. The sugeno fuzzy integration about features is used to determine linked edges. Finally, the pick-up sequence based on MaxMin theory is determined to cause minimal disturbance to the pile. This proposed method may provide a solution to the automation of part handling in manufacturing environments such as in punch press operation or part assembly.

  • The subject of this work is the complex discrete systems simulation special features with the aid of dynamic graph models. The proposed simulation technique allows to determine the ways for tasks solutions in terms of discrete systems analysis and synthesis of various complication: one-dimensional and multidimensional, steady and unstable, with the pulse elements abnormal operating mode and others. Often complex control systems analysis and synthesis task solutions, via classical approach comes out to be insolvent, because of the computational problems. The application of graph models allows to perform clear and strict characterization and computer procedures automation. The optimal controls synthesis algorithm presented in this paper, transferring the discrete system from target initial state to target final state within the minimum time, allows to consider the zero initial conditions systems, with the initial potential energy, with the control actions limitations and complex pulse elements operating mode.

  • The present voltage-reactive power control aims at an overall coordination of reactive power sources and voltage regulation devices to keep the bus voltages within their allowable bounds on one hand and to reduce the transmission losses on the other. This paper presents an efficient computer control scheme for the real-time control of system voltage and reactive power on the basis of a simplified linear equation by using the system characteristic constant. Computational algorithm is used for the minimization of bus voltage deviation in the first phase of optimization and for the reduction of transmission losses under the constraint of vlotage settling condition in the second phase. The numerical example for sample practical system is also given. The present study on the computer control scheme will contribute to the automation of power system operation in the near future.
