The aim of this study was to conduct basic research on the development of a dual-clutch transmission(DCT) and automatic transmission for agricultural tractors. The DCT layout and the DCT simulation model were developed using commercial software. Power transmission efficiency of the DCT and component power loss were analyzed to verify the developed simulation model. Power loss analysis of the components was conducted according to previous studies and ISO(International Organization for Standardization) standards. The power transmission efficiency of the DCT simulation model was 68.4-91.5% according to the gear range. The power loss in the gear, bearing, and clutch DCT system components was 0.75-1.49 kW, 0.77-2.99 kW, and 5.24-10.52 kW, respectively. The developed simulation model not include the rear axle, differential gear, final reduction gear. Therefore actual power transmission efficiency of DCT will be decreased. In a future study, an actual DCT can be developed through the simulation model in this study, and optimization design of DCT can be possible by comparing simulation results and actual vehicle test.

Avionics Full-DupleX Ethernet (AFDX) is a next-generation avionics network interface technology that is widely applied in the latest aircraft to replace ARINC429 and MIL-STD-1553B. However, the criteria for authenticating an avionics network consisting of AFDX are very scarce. Using AFDX Protocol Analyzer developed by the Korea Electronics Technology Research Institute and AFDX Tap developed by the Korea Aerospace University, we proposed a technology of certification practicality that can verify the normal functioning of avionics equipment with AFDX network interface. Our proposed technology provided the ability to collect precision packets, to verify AFDX specification compliance, and perform automatic tests to reduce the time and cost of authentication of AFDX avionics devices.

In this study, a compact hydrogen liquefaction system was constructed with the aim of creating a data storage and monitoring program for liquid hydrogen production. This program was designed to receive and record signals from diverse control equipment through the LabVIEW software. A range of measurement instruments were devised to collect data, encompassing variables such as flow rate, pressure, temperature, and liquid level. As a result, it was possible to directly check the production of liquid hydrogen by obtaining various data of condensed liquid hydrogen. In addition, it was confirmed that long-term storage of liquid hydrogen is possible by developing automatic ON/OFF through the LabVIEW program.
In recent years, the automatic remote control controller of the gamma ray irradiator malfunctions, and radiation workers are continuously exposed to radiation exposure accidents. In the non-destructive testing field, much time and resources are invested in establishing a radioactive source monitoring system in order to prevent potential incidents of radiation. In this study, the gamma-ray response properties of the lead monoxide-based radiation detector were estimated through monte carlo simulation as a previous study for the development of a radioactive source location monitoring system that can be applied universally to various non-destructive testing equipment. As a result of the study, the optimized thickness of the radiation detector varies according to the gamma-ray energy emitted from the radioactive source, and the optimized thickness gradually increases with increasing energy. In conclusion, the optimized thickness of the lead monoxide-based radiation detector was $200{\mu}m$ for the Ir-192, $150{\mu}m$ for the Se-75 and $300{\mu}m$ for the Co-60. Based on these results, the appropriate thickness of lead monoxide-based radiation detector considering secondary-electron equilibrium was evaluated to be $300{\mu}m$ for general application. These results can be used as a basic data for determining the appropriate thickness required in the radiation detector when developing a radiation source location monitoring system for universal application to various non-destructive testing equipment in the future.

As the demand of nuclear power plant equipment is continuously growing worldwide, the importance of handling nuclear strategic materials is also increasing. While the number of cases submitted for the exports of nuclear-power commodity and technology is dramatically increasing, preadjudication (or prescreening to be simple) of strategic materials has been done so far by experts of a long-time experience and extensive field knowledge. However, there is severe shortage of experts in this domain, not to mention that it takes a long time to develop an expert. Because human experts must manually evaluate all the documents submitted for export permission, the current practice of nuclear material export is neither time-efficient nor cost-effective. Toward alleviating the problem of relying on costly human experts only, our research proposes a new system designed to help field experts make their decisions more effectively and efficiently. The proposed system is built upon case-based reasoning, which in essence extracts key features from the existing cases, compares the features with the features of a new case, and derives a solution for the new case by referencing similar cases and their solutions. Our research proposes a framework of case-based reasoning system, designs a case-based reasoning system for the control of nuclear material exports, and evaluates the performance of alternative keyword extraction methods (full automatic, full manual, and semi-automatic). A keyword extraction method is an essential component of the case-based reasoning system as it is used to extract key features of the cases. The full automatic method was conducted using TF-IDF, which is a widely used de facto standard method for representative keyword extraction in text mining. TF (Term Frequency) is based on the frequency count of the term within a document, showing how important the term is within a document while IDF (Inverted Document Frequency) is based on the infrequency of the term within a document set, showing how uniquely the term represents the document. The results show that the semi-automatic approach, which is based on the collaboration of machine and human, is the most effective solution regardless of whether the human is a field expert or a student who majors in nuclear engineering. Moreover, we propose a new approach of computing nuclear document similarity along with a new framework of document analysis. The proposed algorithm of nuclear document similarity considers both document-to-document similarity (${\alpha}$) and document-to-nuclear system similarity (${\beta}$), in order to derive the final score (${\gamma}$) for the decision of whether the presented case is of strategic material or not. The final score (${\gamma}$) represents a document similarity between the past cases and the new case. The score is induced by not only exploiting conventional TF-IDF, but utilizing a nuclear system similarity score, which takes the context of nuclear system domain into account. Finally, the system retrieves top-3 documents stored in the case base that are considered as the most similar cases with regard to the new case, and provides them with the degree of credibility. With this final score and the credibility score, it becomes easier for a user to see which documents in the case base are more worthy of looking up so that the user can make a proper decision with relatively lower cost. The evaluation of the system has been conducted by developing a prototype and testing with field data. The system workflows and outcomes have been verified by the field experts. This research is expected to contribute the growth of knowledge service industry by proposing a new system that can effectively reduce the burden of relying on costly human experts for the export control of nuclear materials and that can be considered as a meaningful example of knowledge service application.

To safeguard the accommodation spaces on cargo ships from fire, structural fire protection provisions introduced by SOLAS and these measures retard the propagation of flames and smoke. SOLAS also specifies provisions for fire fighting drills. These provisions are a combination of regulations regarding structure and equipment and those dealing with the human element for the fire protection and effective responses in the event of fire. Requirements related to the human element play a supporting role to the requirements for structure and equipment because the present accommodation structure and equipment are insufficient for extinguishing a fire, therefore, fire-extinguishing activity performed by crew members is essential. To reduce human error and ensure effective fire fighting, it is necessary to install a fire-fighting system and improve the fire fighting process. The fundamental concept of fire fighting exercises is to commence fire fighting before the fire grows too big to extinguish. It is essential to relocate the storage place of fire fighting equipment to expedite the fire-fighting exercise. This study was carried out to reduce human risk for this purpose, the fire control station was relocated to a site that could be accessed from the open deck. Further, two sets of a fire fighter's outfit were stored at the same site. This relocation eliminated the risk of the crew reentering to operate the fire fighting system in the fire control station and allowed the crew to pick up the fire fighters' outfits quickly in the event of a fire. In addition, it was proposed that the IIC method be made mandatory. This method is combination of automatic fire detection system and sprinkler system which can reduce the risk of the fire fighting exercises for the crew and to suppress fire in the initial stage. This study was carried out to provide a foundation to the possible amendment of the relevant SOLAS regulations and national legislation.

In XXI century it is necessary to expect the recommencement and development of activities on mastering the Moon. In the long term it is construction of manned lunar bases with industrial, astrophysical, procuring, repair equipment and services. Interplanetary flights from the Moon demand smaller power expenditures, than from the Earth, therefore it is favourable to use its surface for the construction of space-vehicle launching sites. Flights of devices in libration points in the system 'Earth - Moon' are considered. Experience of engineering system creation for the Moon displays the great complexity in provision of serviceability and reliability of friction units. Open friction units should operate under following conditions on the Moon: pressure of environment (vacuum) $p\;>10\;^{-10}$ Pa; wide range of temperature change $+150^{\circ}C\;...170^{\circ}C$; high evaporability of lubricants; influence of temperature gradients and warping of constructions; sublimation of elements of constructional materials; irradiation of different physical nature; effect of micrometeorites; reduced gravitation; influence of abrasive particles of lunar ground; requirements on minimization of size and weight characteristics of a construction (high tension); undesirability (impossibility) of application of liquid and plastic lubricants; vibration, shock, acoustic loadings during start and landings to the Earth; difficulties in repair-regenerative operations in conditions of the Moon etc. Adhesive interaction of conjugated surfaces is the principal reason of possible failures of rubbed units on the Moon. In the research of the Moon automatic interplanetary stations of 'Luna' (USSR), 'Surveyer', 'Apollo' (USA) series were used. Stations executed functions of flying, landing, artificial satellites of the Moon, moon-rovers and manned spacecrafts such as 'Apollo'. The experimental- theoretical researches carried out in the sixtieth years on tribology for conditions of the Moon appeared to be rather useful to engineering of an outer space exploration and the decision of complex problems for the friction units operating in extreme conditions on the Earth. For the creation of highly loaded friction units for the long service life on the Moon it is required not only to use accumulated experience and designed technologies, but also to carry out wide scientific research.
The development project of Korean High Speed Train (KHST) was started in 1996. As a national research project, the KHST project aims for a development of the next generation prototype train that has a maximum speed of 350 km/h. The development process of prototype KHST including 7 vehicles was completed last year and currently the prototype train is on its way of test running over the test track with gradually increased speed. The prototype KHST uses the real time network called TCN (Train Communication Network) for exchanging information between various onboard control equipments. After 10 years of development and modification period, TCN was confirmed as international standard (IEC61375-1) for the electrical railway equipment train bus. In the prototype KHST, all major control devices are connected by TCN and exchange their information. Such devices include SCU (Supervisory Control Unit), ATC (Automatic Train Control), TCU (Traction Control Unit), and so forth. For each device that sends and receives data using TCN, a device has to find out whether TCN is in normal or failure state before its data exchange. And also a device must have a proper method of data validation that was received in a normal TCN state. This is a one of the major important factors for devices using network. Some misleading information can lead the entire system to a catastrophic condition. This paper briefly explains how TCN was implemented in the prototype KHST train, and also shows what kind of the fault diagnosis method was adopted for a fail safe operation of TCN system
Modern vehicles are evolving from manual to automatic driving. As the ratio of electrical equipment and software increases inside the vehicle, vehicles that support autonomous driving are becoming another open computer system that can communicate with the outside. The safety of the vehicle means the safety of both the passenger and the non-passenger. It is not clear whether the safety problem of ultimate autonomous vehicles can be solved by the current solution of computer systems related to fault tolerance and security. Autonomous vehicles should not be dangerous to people after they are released to the market, so it is necessary to proactively diagnose all the risks that can be predicted with current technology. This paper examines the current developments of autonomous vehicles and analyzes their dangers that threaten driving safety, as well as their countermeasures.
ICAO has recommended the introduction of New CNS/ATM based on GNSS technologies and Data link communication to purpose increasing air traffic demand. The CNS/ATM is composed of communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management. Cockpit Display Traffic Information(CDTI) that is equipment to share air traffic information to Pilot, Traffic Controller and ground vehicles has been built based on Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast(ADS-B) information in Surveillance field. This paper is research that what is the effect between pilot and controller through CDTI. Based on ATC communication between Pilot and Controller, We construct simulation environment and did a comparative analysis of it. according to result, We can verify that CDTI makes aircraft Call sign, Position, Altitude information read rate, and notice of air traffic information between Pilot and Controller more improve than ATC environment and Existing Radar System.
