  • This paper describes the development of automatic shape design program for spur gear. It produces automatically third-dimensional surface and solid model used in CAD/CAM system with inputting simple measurements. This program can maximize user's convenience and get surface and solid model quickly as accepting GUI(graphic user interface). Automatic shape design program for spur gear was developed by Visual LISP, a developer program. Besides, a geometrical method and a mathematical algerian are used in this program. Use frequency of a fine spur gear is on the increase recently and manufacture process of this gear is heat treatment after press processing with molding. In this press processing, the upper punch portion of a fine spur gear shape is drafted by CAM. Therefore, estimated that surface and solid model of spur gear used to CAM are needed in this research. In this research, after 2 ㎜ gear was modeled by auto shape design program, the upper punch portion of a fine spur gear was manufactured as giving third-dimensional model to CAM software and then, displayed the result as applying to press process.

  • An application-oriented approach to automatic pass schedule design in shape rolling was presented in this paper. The design approach and its related program are composed of several modules for input data, graphic display, data processing, calculation of design information, drawing of detailed pass shapes, database management and finite element analysis for design verification. The developed program was applied to automatic pass schedule design for a square-to-round bar shape rolling.

  • In this study, we develop automatic design program, which create 3D model of spur gear and helical gear used VisuaILISP and create helical gear in the CATIA using 2D profile of gear. This model become the standard model, which give not only in itself mold information but also computer processed product with measuring date. Spur gear require mathematical examination of involute curve and trocoidal fillet curve. Automatic design program, which have a mathematical development create the profile of spur gear.

  • This study developed Gear Automatic Design Program that users with the basic knowledge about mechanical engineering can easily model spur gears and helical gears. The Gear Automatic Design Program used Visual LISP which is an user program based on Auto CAD and made it model the gears with involute tooth by the exact mathematic definition. Also, to verify these, the reliability was secured by comparing it with a gear generated in commercial software. And we will develop nitrocarburising process and solve problems which had been caused of SCM440's dimensional changing.

  • An aspheric lens is one of a key point optical element in the optical industry. The feature of an aspheric lens is not to have the spherical aberration. An aspheric lens is also essential element for high-precision and light-weight in the optical machine. Generally it have been used in a tailor progression an aspheric lens modelling much. In this study we applied a lay back-tracer using a index of refraction to draw a creative aspheric lens. Also we developed the automatic design program for aspheric lens. We manufactured the aspheric lens and executed a comparison experiment for refraction situation of shape and straightness experiment to inspect the drawn aspheric lens in this study.

  • Recently industry has moved towards automated operations with the goal of achieving better product quality greater productivity and reliability The pump design in characterized by extensive utilization of the related database which contains performance data. The inputs to the system are through interactive dialogue sessions and the basic input consist of flow rate, head, of fluid efficiency and the customer special requirements. These basic inputs along with the numerous rules in the knowledge bases and the mathematical modeling enable the effective design of the pump industry This paper represents the development of an automatic pump design system that was composed of a main program the data input module the drawing module the drawing edit module and was programed by the AutoLISP language under the Auto CAD program The developed system ultimately generates the design for a pump through the AutoCAD language.

  • In this study the dynamic characteristics of automatic transmission system due to the change of the planetary gear ratio is studied. To study the power flow and shift quality for power transmission the simulation program is developed using the modeling and analysis technique. The results from this study will be used in designing the basic structure of automatic transmission using planetary gear system.

  • This study is the selection of optimum forming condition for RP system using ADS. Program using ADS reduces the required time for feedback between design and manufacturing of workpiece. When we produce rapid prototype using RP system, we investigate the relationship between Facetres in system variable number of AutoCAD and circularity of rapid prototype, and we will find optimum forming condition in RP system.

  • Recently, design automation of installation drawings and design elements has been required in the elevator industry. This is recognized as an important role in securing adaptability on site, reducing design errors, and enhancing export competitiveness. However, in case of a small company doesn't have enough resources to develop the program, and it is difficult to develop a design automation program. Therefore, it is necessary to have an automatic drawing generation program that enables small companies to easily invest and use, while allowing users to concentrate on productive tasks. In this paper, we propose an automatic drawing generation program using parametric coding technique. This program is linked with the web service and automatically creates the drawing when the user enters the site information on the web. This is useful for elevator installation and maintenance due to reduced drawing time for elevator drawings.

  • Due to the complicated character of the hemming process for automobile panels, it is very difficult to setup a consistent and reliable die design guide rule that require subtle decision of experienced experts and multiple trials during hemming die design and making. In this paper an automatic die design system of hemming units is pursued by presenting some algorithms, in which geometric data and constraints of the hemming units were converted to formula. The geometries and kinematics of all part for two kinds of hemming units, 2-link type and 4-link type were analysed kinematically to build the design algorithm. The algorithms were verified by automatic drawing used AutoCAD VBA program in example for the hemming unit design of a bonnet.
