  • Recently, deep learning networks with high performance for object recognition are emerging. In the case of object recognition using deep learning, it is important to build a training data set to improve performance. To build a data set, we need to collect and label the images. This process requires a lot of time and manpower. For this reason, open data sets are used. However, there are objects that do not have large open data sets. One of them is data required for license plate detection and recognition. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an artificial license plate generator system that can create large data sets by minimizing images. In addition, the detection rate according to the artificial license plate arrangement structure was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the best layout structure was FVC_III and B, and the most suitable network was D2Det. Although the artificial data set performance was 2-3% lower than that of the actual data set, the time to build the artificial data was about 11 times faster than the time to build the actual data set, proving that it is a time-efficient data set building system.

  • In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a multimedia information system integrating hypermdia, information retrieval, and DBMS technologies. We browse the information space through hypermedia link navigation and also use ad hoc queries for direct retrieval of information from the database. Both the hypermedia and the information retrieval systems are integrated into a database management system (DMBS) so that concurrent edition, update, and retrieval of documents can have the ACID properties of atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability. We will first explain the architecture of the system and then, describe how the hypermedia system is integrated with information retrieval capability, and finally integrated with DBMS capabilities.

  • Recent paradigm in technology shifts from object-based technology to environment-based technology. Issue here is interaction among humans and the world around humans. The world we consider includes natural and artificial "space." Interactive technology, which explore holistic interactions based on "Mom (embodiment)," suggests a good starting point for exploring this issue. Soft engineering, "Mom," holistic interactions, tangible space, ubiquitous computing, science of emotion, and interactive media are key concepts in interactive technology. Interactive tangible media "iT_Media" is proposed to explore and synthesize these ideas. Interactive technology initiative (ITI) is an interdisciplinary research group to search for the proper technology and the proper way of implementing technology: "interactive technology" or "soft engineering." Some experimental activities conducted by ITI are presented in this paper.tal activities conducted by ITI are presented in this paper.

  • To produce fruiting bodies of Oudemansiella mucida, porcelain fungus, on the oak sawdust medium, additives suitable for the mycelial growth and fruiting body formation were screened. In general, the mycelial growth of the three strains of O. mucida used in this study have been good on oak sawdust mixed rice bran of $20{\sim}30%$. The mycelia incubated in potato dextrose broth for 7 days were inoculated on oak sawdust medium supplemented with various ratios of rice bran and incubated for 30 days at $25^{\circ}C$ in the dark condition until the mycelia of O. mucida fully colonized the media from top to bottom. Then, top surface of the media in the bottles were horizontally scratched with a spatula and filled with tap water for 3 hours. To induce the primordial formation of O. mucida, the bottles were transferred to the mushroom cultivating room under 12 hrs of light (350 lux) and dark condition with relative humidity of 95% at $17^{\circ}C$. The primordia of O. mucida were formed on the surface of oak sawdust media after 7 days of incubation. The mature fruiting bodies were observed 5 days after primordial formation. The fruiting bodies O. mucida were formed on oak sawdust medium mixed with 5 to 30% rice bran. However, abundant fruiting-bodies of O. mucida were produced in oak sawdust medium supplemented with 20% rice bran. This is the first report associated with an artificial fruiting body production of O. mucida in Korea.

  • In order to develop effective acclimatization methods for Aralia elata plantlets regenerated from somatic embryos, various acclimatizing conditions were compared regarding both survival rate and growth of the plantlets. The plantlets were transplanted into plastic boxes containing artificial soil in the presence of either several levels of MS liquid media, distilled water, 2% sucrose or 0.1% hyponex solution. They were then cultured by spraying of distilled water twice a week and maintained in the normal tissue culture room. Perlite was proved to be better than vermiculite on survival rate and growth of the plantlets. As the size of perlite (larger than 0.2 cm in diameter) increased, both the survival rate and growth of the plantlets improved. Among the various MS liquid media and different aqueous solutions tested, distilled water appeared to result in the best survival rate and growth. MS media were also effective in increasing survival rate and supporting growth when diluted to 1/4 and/or 1/8. The acclimatized plantlets could be transplanted directly onto the nursery bed and grown normally. The above results suggest that plantlets regenerated from somatic embryos of Aralia elata be effectively acclimatized using a plastic box containing perlite with distilled water treatment.

  • Environmental pollution caused by various heavy metals is a serious global problem. To solve this problem, microbial bioremediation of contaminated metals has developed rapidly as an effective strategy when physical and chemical techniques are not suitable. In this study, cadmium (Cd)-tolerant soil bacteria were isolated via artificial induction in laboratory conditions instead of screening bacteria naturally adapted to metal-contaminated soils. Wild-type (WT) bacteria grown in uncontaminated soils were artificially and sequentially adapted to gradually increasing Cd concentrations of up to 15 mM. The resultant cells, named Soil-CdR15, survived at a Cd concentration of 10 mM, whereas WT cells failed to survive with 4 mM Cd on solid media for 2 d. In liquid media containing Cd, the SoilCdR15 cells grew with 15 mM Cd for 7 d, whereas the WT cells could not grow with 5 mM Cd. Both Soil-CdR15 and WT cells removed approximately 35% of Cd at the same capacity from liquid media containing either 0.5 or 1.0 mM Cd over 2 d. In addition to Cd, the Soil-CdR15 cells showed increased resistance to nickel, zinc, and arsenic compared to WT cells. The Soil-CdR cells were identified as Burkholderia sp. by partial sequencing of 16S rRNA. The data presented in this study demonstrate that isolation of heavy metal-tolerant microorganisms via artificial induction in laboratory conditions is possible and may be useful for the application of the microorganisms for the bioremediation of heavy metals.

  • We are facing an era of automation where artificial intelligence works and an era of super-aging, where birth is rapidly declining. In this paper, we intend to perform the creation of an autobiography in conjunction with the generation integrated narrative storytelling, thereby exploring the potential for visual storytelling that can be extended to a variety of media format. The visual autobiography production program confirmed through an interview with the production participants that grandparents, grandchildren and granddaughter together became the main characters in the documentary, a valuable opportunity to reflect on their past memories and lives and recognize their meaning of life. The visual storytelling education program model and media life service presented in this paper will be shared by the youth and the elderly generation together and contribute to the 'sympathetic culture' as a social integration program.

  • This study was aimed to develope appropriate soil media for the growth of Rhododendron hybrid $J_{ASANHONG}$ on the artificial ground five types of soil media was tested such as "sandy loam-general soil (T1)", "vermiculite-artificial soil (T5)", "sandy loam 50% + vermiculite 30% + sand 20% (improved of soil 2-T2)", "sandy loam 50% + carbonized rice hust 30% + sand 20% (improved of soil 3-T3)", "sandy loam 50% + humus sawdust 30% + sand 20% (improved of soil 4-T4)". The result of the research are as follows. 1. Among the type of soil media, the sandy loam(T1) soil type gave the worst effects on growth of above ground parts(height, No. of leaf, width of leaf, No. of flowering, dry weight of upper parts) and under ground parts(dry weight of roots). 2. Vermiculite(T5) showed the highest root growth(dry weight of roots). it seemed to be caused high saturated hydraulic conductivity and porosity. As a result, there is much available space for enabling the root spreads. 3. "sandy loam 50% + vermiculite 30% + sand 20%(improved of soil 2-T2)", "sandy loam 50% + carbonized rice hust 30% + sand 20%(improved of soil 3-T3)" showed good effects on growth of above ground parts and under ground parts compared with sandy 10am(T1) 4. "sandy loam 50% + humus sawdust 30% + sand 20% + (improved of soil 4-T4)" showed the highest effects on growth of above ground parts.
