  • This paper conducted a feasibility study by applying an Internet of Things and Artificial intelligence-based management system for the elderly living alone in an aging society. The number of single-person families over the age of 50 is expected to increase, and problems such as health, safety, and loneliness may occur due to aging. Therefore, by establishing an IoT-based care system for the elderly living alone, a stable service was developed through securing a rapid response system for the elderly living alone and automatically reporting 119. The participants of the demonstration test were subjects under the jurisdiction of the "Seongnam Senior Complex," and the data collection rate between the IoT sensor and the emergency safety gateway was high. During the demonstration period, as a result of evaluating the satisfaction of the IoT-based care system for the elderly living alone, 90 points were achieved. We are currently in the COVID-19 situation. Therefore, the number of elderly living alone is continuously increasing, and the number of people who cannot benefit from care services will continue to occur. Also, even if the COVID-19 situation is over, the epidemic will happen again. So the care system is essential. The elderly care system developed in this way will provide safety management services based on artificial intelligence-based activity pattern analysis, improving the quality of in-house safety services.

  • South Korea is at an important juncture in its history to decide whether to continue its investment to become a first-mover of artificial intelligence (A.I.) platform technology or stay as a fast follower. This paper compares South Korea's A.I. platform capacity to that of the United States, China and the European Union by reviewing publicly opened documents and reports on AI platform strategies and policies using the three elements of the national innovation capacity: common innovation infrastructure, cluster-specific conditions, and quality of linkages. This paper found three major areas the South Korean government can focus on in the A.I. platform industry. First, South Korea needs to increase its investment in the A.I. field and expand its public-private collaboration activities. Second, unlike the U.S. and the U.K., South Korea lacks data protection policies. Third, South Korea needs to build a high-performance system and environment to experiment with artificial intelligence technology and big data.

  • This paper was conducted to prevent and respond to crimes by predicting crimes based on artificial intelligence. While the quality of life is improving with the recent development of science and technology, various problems such as poverty, unemployment, and crime occur. Among them, in the case of crime problems, the importance of crime prediction increases as they become more intelligent, advanced, and diversified. For all crimes, it is more critical to predict and prevent crimes in advance than to deal with them well after they occur. Therefore, in this paper, we predicted crime types and crime tools using the Multiclass Logistic Regression algorithm and Multiclass Neural Network algorithm of machine learning. Multiclass Logistic Regression algorithm showed higher accuracy, precision, and recall for analysis and prediction than Multiclass Neural Network algorithm. Through these analysis results, it is expected to contribute to a more pleasant and safe life by implementing a crime prediction system that predicts and prevents various crimes. Through further research, this researcher plans to create a model that predicts the probability of a criminal committing a crime again according to the type of offense and deploy it to a web service.

  • Currently, artificial intelligence (AI) is being applied in the medical field to collect and analyze data such as personal genetic information, medical information, and lifestyle information. In particular, in the medical imaging field, AI is being applied to the medical imaging field to analyze patients' medical image data and diagnose diseases. Deep learning (DL) of deep neural networks such as CNN and GAN have been introduced to medical image analysis and medical data augmentation to facilitate lesion detection, quantification, and classification. In this paper, we examine AI used in the medical imaging field and review related medical image data acquisition devices, medical information systems for transmitting medical image data, problems with medical image data, and the current status of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) that has been actively applied recently. In the future, the continuous development of AI and information and communication technology (ICT) is expected to make it easier to analyze medical image data in the medical field, enabling disease diagnosis, prognosis prediction, and improvement of patients' quality of life. In the future, AI medicine is expected to evolve from the existing treatment-centered medical system to personalized healthcare through preemptive diagnosis and prevention.

  • The integration of artificial intelligence technology with medicine has rapidly evolved, with increasing demands for quality of life. However, falls remain a significant risk leading to severe injuries and fatalities, especially among the elderly. Therefore, the development and application of computer vision-based fall detection technologies have become increasingly important. In this paper, firstly, the keypoint detection algorithm ViTPose++ is used to obtain the coordinates of human body keypoints from the camera images. Human skeletal feature maps are generated from this keypoint coordinate information. Meanwhile, human dense feature maps are produced based on the DensePose algorithm. Then, these two types of feature maps are confused as dual-channel inputs for the model. The convolutional gated recurrent unit is introduced to extract the frame-to-frame relevance in the process of falling. To further integrate features across three dimensions (spatio-temporal-channel), a dual-channel fall detection algorithm based on video streams is proposed by combining the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) with the ConvGRU. Finally, experiments on the public UR Fall Detection Dataset demonstrate that the improved ConvGRU-CBAM achieves an F1 score of 92.86% and an AUC of 95.34%.

  • In this paper, we investigate automated data validation techniques for artificial intelligence training, and also disclose open-source frameworks, such as Google's TensorFlow Data Validation (TFDV), that support automated data validation in the AI model development process. We also introduce an experimental study using public data sets to demonstrate the effectiveness of the open-source data validation framework. In particular, we presents experimental results of the data validation functions for schema testing and discuss the limitations of the current open-source frameworks for semantic data. Last, we introduce the latest studies for the semantic data validation using machine learning techniques.

  • Recently, by applying the 4th industrial revolution technologies such as A.I., IoT, and big data to general residential infrastructure, various application services of residential-based are provided to residents through linkage and utilization between technologies. Accordingly, smart housing system is increasing as advanced living spaces that can improve the quality of life and convenience of residents. Such a smart housing is expected to be an item that can create new demands and markets in the construction industry since it provides a new paradigm that combines construction technology and IT by combining IT technology with existing construction industry. Based on this, it is expected that it will be possible to gradually develop large-scale markets such as smart buildings and smart cities. In this paper, therefore, we propose an artificial intelligence multiplex smart housing system as an intelligent platform that can autonomously manage and control the size of places and spaces, used for various purposes based on smart housing technology by using artificial intelligence systems.

  • We live in the age of artificial intelligence, and big data and artificial intelligence education are no longer just for majors, but are required to be able to handle non-majors as well. Software and artificial intelligence education for non-majors is not just a general education, it creates talents who can understand and utilize them, and the quality of education is increasingly important. Through such education, we can nurture creative talents who can create and use new values by fusion with various fields of computing technology. Since 2015, many universities have been implementing software-oriented colleges and AI-oriented colleges to foster software-oriented human resources. However, it is not easy to provide AI basic statistics education of big data analysis deception to non-majors. Therefore, we would like to present a big data education model for non-majors in big data analysis so that big data analysis can be directly applied.

  • The value of living a long and healthy life without suffering has increased owing to aging populations, transition to welfare societies, and global interest in health deriving from the novel coronavirus disease pandemic. New drug development has gained attention as both a tool to improve the quality of life and high-value market, with blockbuster drugs potentially generating over 10 billion dollars in annual revenue. However, for newly discovered substances to be used as drugs, various properties must be verified over a long period in a time-consuming and costly process. Recently, the development of artificial intelligence technologies, such as deep and reinforcement learning, has led to significant changes in drug development by enabling the effective identification of drug candidates that satisfy desired properties. We explore and discuss trends in artificial intelligence for de novo drug design.
