  • The fluctuation integrals which give useful information in the structure of solution are associated with the mixed direct correlation integral ($C_{12}$) known. Using its weighted arithmetic mean of $C_{11}$ and $C_{22}$ and the activity coefficient model, the fluctuation integrals on solute-solute, solvent-solute, and solvent-solvent can be calculated in the function of mole fraction. In this work, several binary mixtures containing c-hexane were tested and the results on the fluctuation integrals were rather good.

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate the atomizing characteristics of a two phase spray by using a liquid column type coaxial nozzle. The experiments have been carried out to analyze the atomization behavior, the droplet size distributions, and the statistical properties of droplet size distributions. Immersion sampling method and the image processing technique were adapted for the measurements of particles, and the distributions of the droplet sizes were statistically analyzed. In the experiments, the mass ratio defined as Mr= $M_{\sigma}$/ $M_{1}$ has been changed from 1.0 to 3.4 and the measurements have been performed along the axis of the spray. As a result of this experimental study, the distributions of droplet size were satisfied with the Log-Normal distributions and arithmetic mean diameter and deviation of mass ratio. Droplet volume-surface mean diameter was denoted by a exponential function of mass-ratio and the exponent was denoted by linear relation according to the central axis from the nozzle. Dispersions, skewness factors and flatness factors had comparatively constant values regardless of mass ratio and location.

  • Using the computer simulation method, we invest19ate the probability distribution of maximum eigenvalue of pair-wise comparison matrix, which has been used as a parameter for measuring the consistency of responses in analytic hierarchy process (AHP). We show that the shape of the distribution of the maximum eigenvalue is different according to the dimension of the matrix. In addition, we cannot find any evidence that the distribution of the Consistency Index is a Normal distribution, which has been claimed in the Previous literature. Accordingly, we suggest using so called K-index calcu1ated based on the concept of cumulative distribution function lather than based on that of arithmetic mean because the probabilistic distribution cannot be assumed to be a Normal distribution. We interpret the simulation results by comparing them with the suggestion of Saaty[11]. Our results show that using Saaty's value could be too generous when the dimension of the matrix is 3 and strict over 4. Finally, we propose new criteria for measuring the response consistency in AHP.

  • Let (${\Omega}$, $\mathcal{S}$, ${\mu}$) be a probabilistic measure space, ${\varepsilon}{\in}\mathbb{R}$, ${\delta}{\geq}0$, p > 0 be given numbers and let $P{\subset}\mathbb{R}$ be an open interval. We consider a class of functions $f:P{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}$, satisfying the inequality $$f(EX){\leq}E(f{\circ}X)+{\varepsilon}E({\mid}X-EX{\mid}^p)+{\delta}$$ for each $\mathcal{S}$-measurable simple function $X:{\Omega}{\rightarrow}P$. We show that if additionally the set of values of ${\mu}$ is equal to [0, 1] then $f:P{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}$ satisfies the above condition if and only if $$f(tx+(1-t)y){\leq}tf(x)+(1-t)f(y)+{\varepsilon}[(1-t)^pt+t^p(1-t)]{\mid}x-y{\mid}^p+{\delta}$$ for $x,y{\in}P$, $t{\in}[0,1]$. We also prove some basic properties of such functions, e.g. the existence of subdifferentials, Hermite-Hadamard inequality.

  • A maze-escaping method with cooperating work of robots alongside one another will be proposed in this paper. Educational robots can communicate each other using Zigbee; however, they can't solve problems together due to their lack of arithmetic function. The robots walk upright controlled by a motion program; furthermore, they recognize an intersection or a dead-end in the use of distant sensors with sending data and receiving commands from the central control system. The maze-search algorithms were modified so that all robots can effectively navigate the maze.

  • This paper investigated policies that drive the sustainable management of Ivorian forest which disappear at an annual rate of 250000 hectares. Based on an inter-temporal model for optimum allocation of forest land to three competing uses, the article found that sustainability depends on the incentive structure, of which forest taxes and fees are a key, though obviously not the sole, component. The study proposed to increase the area fee level by accounting for environmental externalities generated by forest harvesters and farmers. The paper showed that the area fee is a decreasing function of the forest natural rate of regeneration and the reconversion rate of agricultural surfaces. Finally, at the given forest natural rate of regeneration and the reconversion rate of agricultural surfaces, the model argued that the area fee need to be progressive (arithmetic progression) in the context of ecological equilibrium break while it should remain constant in normal situation.

  • Using the theory of combinatoric convolution sums, we establish some arithmetic identities involving Liouville functions and restricted divisor functions. We also prove some relations involving restricted divisor functions and Stirling numbers of the first kind for divisor functions.

  • Many image hiding schemes based on least significant bit (LSB) transformation have been proposed. One of the LSB-based image hiding schemes that employs diamond encoding was proposed in 2008. In this scheme, the binary secret data is converted into base n representation, and the converted secret data is concealed in the cover image. Here, we show that this scheme has two vulnerabilities: noticeable spots in the stego-image, i.e., a non-smooth embedding result, and inefficiency caused by rough re-adjustment of falling-off-boundary value and impractical base translation. Moreover, we propose a new scheme that is efficient and produces a smooth and high quality embedding result by restricting n to power of 2 and using a sophisticated re-adjustment procedure. Our experimental results show that our scheme yields high quality stego-images and is secure against RS detection attack.

  • Since the modular curve $X(4)=\Gamma(4)/{\mathfrak{}}^*$ has genus 0, we have a field isomorphism K(X(4)){\approx}\mathcal{C}(j_{4})$ where $j_{4}(z)={\theta}_{3}(\frac{z}{2})/{\theta}_{4}(\frac{z}{2})$ is a quotient of Jacobi theta series ([9]). We derive recursion formulas for the Fourier coefficients of $j_4$ and $N(j_{4})$ (=the normalized generator), respectively. And we apply these modular functions to Thompson series and the construction of class fields.

  • Decision making is a function of many variables, but among these, human burden (soft-ware) and machine burden (hard-ware) are critical. Decision Maker is rather concerned with the soft-ware and just wants to have machine calculate the quantitative arithmetic involved in the decision-making study, because he is responsible for that decision whether or not he knows details about the techniques used by his staffs. From the point of these considerations, computer-assisted war game model has its significance in military decision making. The major outcome of this model is time-phased FEBA movement. FEBA is moved mainly by the ratio of the Index of Combat Effectiveness (ICE). To calculate ICE, Ground Forces are concerning the Index of Firepower (IFP) of individual weapons and in the case of Air Force, sorties are allocated into each sector, and added to the Ground Force IFP. With the ratio of total ICE, FEBA is moved according to the War Game Tables and process is repeated after consideration of casualties. This model is used by IBM-370/135 in MND computer room and also tested by IBM-3741/3717 established at ROKA HQ.
