Relay-assisted wireless communication systems have been studied widely to cope with shadow areas and extend the cell coverage. This paper proposes a space-frequency (SF) block coded single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) transmission system in a relaying multi-path shadow area and present the performance comparison of SC-FDMA systems based on the signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) between a relay and a destination station. The performance of relaying SC-FDMA systems can be improved by applying SF block code to the recovered signals of relays before re-transmitting them. The simulation result showed that the SNR performance of the proposed SF block coded relaying SC-FDMA system was approximately 5 dB better than the SNR performance of the single-path relaying SC-FDMA system at a symbol error rate (SER) of $10^{-2}$.
This study is to estimate the circuity factors which can be used to assess for public facilities accessibility and analyze traffic in the area. We set the range of the administrative districts by Si Gun Gu unit and Eup Myeon Dong unit (more subdivided unit than Si Gun Gu unit). The average circuity factor in Si Gun Gu unit is 1.364 (maximum 2.953 and minimum 1.711). The region indicated the highest value of circuity factor is wando-gun in jeollanam-do, which area consists of 4 island and is connected to the bridges. Having to use the bridges for using public facilities hinders its accessibility. In the case of Eup Myeon Dong unit, the average circuity factor is 1.353 (maximum 2.950 and minimum 1.154). The region indicated the highest value of circuity factor is buksan-myeon in chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do. This region also has to use bridges for using public facilities because there is the largest lake, called Soyangho. This circuity factor is used to analyze the location of public facilities and assess vulnerability of accessibility. And also the factor can be applied to some policies, such as rural public service planning based on spatial big data.

This study aims to develop a method to analyze droughts in Nakdong river area. Satellite imagery can be applied to droughts monitoring because it can afford periodic data for large area for long time. In this study, supposing that evapotranspiration and NDVI are closely related to each other, we presented a method to estimate evapotranspiration in large area with NDVI from MODIS data and temperature. For the final analysis of droughts, water deficit is calculated by climatological water balance using the distribution of evapotranspiration and precipitation. As the results of this study, we improved the usability of satellite imagery, especially in drought analysis.
This study was to observe the occurrence of heterotrophic bacteria in terms of free chlorine residuals in two different water distribution systems belong to both K and Y water treatment plant. The data analyzed in this study showed that in distribution systems(DS), the free chlorine residuals were decreased from 0.10 to 0.56 ㎎/1 for K, and 0.51 and 0.78 ㎎/l for Y The decay of free chlorine were clearly higher in both March and August than those in January. The HPC in DS were ranged from 0 to 40 CFU/ml for K,0 to 270 CFU/ml for Y, on R2A medium. In particular, Its level was relatively high at consumers' ground storage tanks, taps and point-of-end area of Y, The predominant genera found in the distribution systems were Acinetobacter, Sphingomonas (branch of Pseudomonas), Microroccus, Bacillus, Staphylococcus. The diversity of heterotrophic bacteria was increased in the end-point area. Most of them were either encapsulated cells or cocci of gram-positve. In conclusion, the point-of-end area in distribution systems showed that the longer flow distance from WTP the greater diversity and higher level of heterotrophic bacteria due to the significant decay of free chlorine residuals.
Using high voltage electric fields induced by high voltage AC (10-12 kV/cm, 20 kHz) and pulsed (20-30 kV/cm, 40 Hz) electric field generator as a semipermanent and environment-friendly disinfecting apparatus, the disinfection effect of coliform group in the effluent of sewage plant was investigated. The effects of electric field strength, treatment time, discharge area of a discharge tube, water quality factors (electric conductivity, pH and SS) on its death rate were examined. The death rate of coliform group was increased with increasing electric field strength and treatment time. For AC and pulsed electric field generator, the critical electric field strength was 6 kV/cm and 2 kV/cm, respectively, and the critical treatment time was 5 min and 2 min, respectively, regardless of electric field strength. Comparing the death rate of coliform group by AC and pulsed electric fields used in this study, its death rate was higher for the latter than the former, but did not increase linearly with increasing electric field strength. The results obtained for the effects of discharge area, electric conductivity, pH and SS on the death rate of coliform group using AC electric field (12 kV/cm, 20 kHz) were as follows: its death rate showed the trend to increase linearly with increasing discharge area; for the effect of electric conductivity, its death rate was increased with increasing electric conductivity, regardless of ionic species, increased with increasing cationic valency, but was similar between the same cationic valency; the pH $5{\sim}9$ used in this study did not affect its death rate; its death rate was decreased with increasing SS concentration.

Recently, the storms which hit Korean Peninsula are getting bigger, and the damages from the storms are wide spreaded. Thus, and approach with disaster prebention to offshore area and/or opened island area is neccessary. The existing wave design parameter was calculated with linear regular wave models inputting deep water design wave or wind sources. so it wasn't able to deal with wind-induced waves, interactions with waves, and redistribution of wave energy simultaneously. In this study, we made numerical simulation with SWAN(Simulation Waves Nearshore) Model which can consider development of waves and winds and their interference. The result from this model shows much different with those from existing model's. so the result from this study, especially in this modeling area, could be used for harbor design and coastal disaster prevention field in the future.
The vessel of integral reactor contains its major primary components such as the fuel and core, pumps, steam generators, and a pressurizer, so its size is proportional to the required space for the installation of each component. The steam generators take up the largest volume of internal space of reactor vessel and their volumes is substantial for the overall size of reactor vessel. Reduction of installation space for steam generators can lead to much smaller reactor vessel with resultant decrease of overall cost for the components and related facilities. A printed circuit heat exchanger is one of the compact types of heat exchangers available as an alternative to conventional shell and tube heat exchangers. Its name is derived from the procedure used to manufacture the flat metal plates that form the core of the heat exchanger, which is done by chemical milling. These plates are then stacked and diffusion bonded, converting the plates into a solid metal block containing precisely engineered fluid flow passages. The overall heat transfer area and pressure drops are evaluated for the steam generator based on the concept of the printed circuit heat exchanger in this study. As the printed circuit heat exchanger is known to have much larger heat transfer area density per unit volume, we can expect significantly reduced steam generator compared to former shell and tube type of steam generator. For the introduction of new steam generator, two design requirements are considered: flow area ratio between primary and secondary flow paths, and secondary side parallel channel flow oscillation. The results show that the overall volume of the steam generator can be significantly reduced with printed circuit type of steam generator.

This paper describes an efficient design of an asynchronous 16-bit divider using the NST (new Svoboda-Tung) algorithm. The divider is designed to reduce power consumption by using the asynchronous design scheme in which the division operation is performed only when it is requested. The divider consists of three blocks, i.e. pre-scale block, iteration step block, and on-the-fly converter block using asynchronous pipeline structure. The pre-scale block is designed using a new subtracter to have small area and high performance. The iteration step block consists of an asynchronous ring structure with 4 division steps for area reduction. In other to reduce hardware overhead, the part related to critical path is designed by a dual-rail circuit, and the other part is done by a single-rail circuit in the ring structure. The on-the-fly converter block is designed for high performance using the on-the-fly algorithm that enables parallel operation with iteration step block. The design results with 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS process show that the divider consists of 12,956 transistors with 1,480 $\times$1,200${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$^2$area and average-case delay is 41.7㎱.

The impact of global warming on aquatic systems has been a priority research area in the past decade. However, the possibility that increased temperatures will cause shifts in viral disease outbreaks has not been well addressed. In the present study, with increasing water temperature (WT) in the coastal area of Korea, we estimated the possibility of changes in fish viral diseases. From the present time, WT may rise between 0.62 and $1.7^{\circ}C$ by 2050, and the effect on aquaculture could be more adverse than benefitial. Red seabream iridovirus disease (RSIVD) and viral nervous necrosis (VNN) cause high mortality above 22 and $24^{\circ}C$, respectively, and outbreaks could commence earlier and persist for prolonged periods. Nevertheless, the period of occurrence of viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS), which outbreaks at a lower WT (< $18^{\circ}C$), could be shorter than the current infectious period. Thermal stress in fish causes reductions in growth and immunocompetence; thus, increases in summer WT can lead to the development of new viral diseases. WT has a strong influence on fish population dynamics; therefore, entry of new viruses and changes in the prevalence of infection can be expected if carrier fishes are introduced or migrate to Korean waters.
Nitrogenous new production and regenerated production were measured in the southern part of the Yellow Sea (Hwanghae) using a stable isotope /SUP 15/N nitrate and ammonia between April 25∼30, 1993. Nitrogen production varied between 155 and 688 mg N m/SUP -2/ d/SUP -1/, which belongs to meso to eutrophic area values. This is equivalent to 881∼3909 mg C m/SUP -2/ d/SUP -1/, assuming the Redfield ratio for C:N of 5.7:1 (by weight). the f0ratio which is the fraction of new production from primary production, varied between 0.12 and 0.26, indicating that 74 to 88% of primary production was supported by the regeneration of nutrients within the euphoric zone. This low f0ratio is the characteristics of the oligo- to mesotrophic area. Contrary to the expected, the ambient nutrient concentration was not an important factor for controlling productivity in this area during the study period. The difference in productivity among stations was mainly due to the variations in phytoplankton biomass in different water masses.
