Given the increased interest in ubiquitous computing, wireless sensor network has been researched widely. The localization service which provides the location information of mobile user, is one of important service provided by sensor network. Many methods to obtain the location information of mobile user have been proposed. However, these methods were developed for only one mobile user so that it is hard to extend for multiple mobile users. If multiple mobile users start the localization process concurrently, there could be interference of beacon or ultrasound that each mobile user transmits. In the paper, we propose IAL, the localization technique with interference avoidance for multiple mobile nodes in mobile wireless sensor networks. In IAL, interference is prevented by forcing the mobile node to get the permission of localization from anchor nodes. For this, we define LIP packet type for localization initiation by mobile node and LGP packet type for localization grant by anchor node. LRP packet type is used to reject localization by anchor node for interference avoidance. The experimental result shows that the number of interference between nodes are increased in proportion to the number of mobile nodes and IAL provides efficient localization.
The network-based IP mobility solution - Proxy MIPv6 provides a mobile node with local mobility support without requiring MIPv6 functionality of the mobile node by using two principle functional entities, LMA (Local Mobility Anchor) and MAG (Mobile Access Gateway) located in a Proxy MIPv6 domain. Yet, in case that a mobile node moves into a mobile network located in the domain, the mobile node can't receive the local mobility support any more because it can't communicate with the MAG. This paper proposes a scheme to support nested network mobility in a Proxy MIPv6 domain by adding MAG functionality to a mobile router in the mobile network and evaluates the performance of the proposed scheme. Performance analysis shows that the proposed scheme can increase the performance of handover delay, signaling costs, and packet loss ratio.

In the Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6), the data transmission performance may be degraded when the two communicating hosts are located within the same mobile domain, since all the data packet shall be delivered by way of Local Mobility Anchor (LMA). In this paper we propose an extensional scheme of PMIPv6 using binding query. In the proposed Query-based PMIPv6 (Q-PMIPv6) scheme, the Mobile Access Gateway (NAG) of Correspondent Node (CN) sends a binding query to LMA to obtain the Proxy Care-of-Address of Mobile Node (MN). Since then, CN and MN can communicate with each other by using an optimized data path. For comparison, we performed the numerical analysis and the ns-2 simulations for the proposed Q-PMIPv6 scheme and the existing PMIPv6 and PMIPv6 Localized Routing (PMIPv6-LR). From the results, we can see that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing PMIPv6 and PMIPv6-LR schemes in terms of the signaling control and data delivery costs.

HMIPv6 draws lots of attentions in recent years for providing an efficient handover and reducing the signaling overhead. HMIPv6 employs MAP(Mobility Anchor Point) in order to minimize a signaling overhead and a local mobility management. MAP completes an efficient mobility management in HMIPv6 network environment with frequent handover. However, HMIPv6 causes load concentration at a paricular MAP and may have unnecessary latency between HN(Mobile Node) and CN(Correspondent Node) within the same network. A MAP may also disturb the route optimization in HMIPv6 network because all packets must be transmitted through a MAP. In this paper, we propose a scheme to optimize the route in HMIPv6 networks according to MAP load. We configure a threshold in order to support the better service into MAP domain. The packets do not pass through MAP and are directly transmitted to AR(Access Router) if the number of current MNs attached to the MAP exceed the desired threshold. We simulate the performance of the proposed scheme and compare with HMIPv6. Resultly, the proposed scheme reduces signaling costs and mitigates concentration of a paticular MAP as well.

This paper proposes a binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) algorithm for distributed node localization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Each unknown node performs localization using the value of the measured distances from three or more neighboring anchors, i.e., nodes that know their location information. The node that is localized during the localization process is then used as another anchor for remaining nodes. The performances of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and BPSO in terms of localization error and computation time are compared by using simulations in Matlab. The simulation results indicate that PSO-based localization is more accurate. In contrast, BPSO algorithm performs faster for finding the location of unknown nodes for distributed localization. In addition, the effects of transmission range and number of anchor nodes on the localization error and computation time are investigated.

An accurate positioning estimation in the wireless sensor networks (WSN) is very important in which each sensor node is aware of neighbor conditions. The multi-hop positioning estimation technique is considered as one of the suitable techniques for the WSN with many low power devices. However geographical holes, where there is no sensor node, may severely decrease the positioning accuracy so that the positioning error can be beyond the tolerable range. Therefore in this paper, we analyze error factors of DV-hop and hole effect to obtain node's accurate position. The proposed methods include boundary node detection, distance level adjustment, and unreliable anchor elimination. The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve higher positioning accuracy using the hole detection and enhanced distance calculation methods compared with the conventional DV-hop.
Mobility Anchor Points are used for the mobility management in HMIPv6 networks. Currently a mobile node selects the MAP farthest away from itself as a new MAP among available candidates when it undertakes a macro handoff. With this technique, however, the traffic tends to be concentrated at a MAP with the largest domain size and the communication cost increases due to the distance between the mobile node and the MAP. In this work, we proposed a cost effective MAP selection scheme. When leaving the current MAP domain. the mobile node calculates the optimum MAP domain size to minimize the local mobility cost at the new MAP domain considering mobile node's velocity and packet transmission rate. The mobile node then selects a MAP domain of size close to the optimum domain size calculated among the candidate MAP domains. In this way, it is possible for the mobile node to select an optimal MAP adaptively taking the network and node states into account, thus reducing the communication cost.

DV-Hop is one of the well known range-free localization algorithms. The algorithm works well in case of isotropic network since the sensor and anchor nodes are placed in the entire area. However, it results in large errors in case of anisotropic networks where the hop count between nodes is not linearly proportional to the Euclidean distance between them. Hence, we proposed a novel range-free algorithm for anisotropic networks to improve the localization accuracy. In the paper, the Euclidean distance between anchor node and unknown node is estimated by the average hop distance calculated at each hop count with hop count and distance information between anchor nodes. By estimating the unknown location of nodes with the estimated distance estimated by the average hop distance calculated at each hop, the localization accuracy is improved. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has more accuracy than DV-Hop.
This study has a purpose that improves efficiency of energy management and adaptation followed by movement of node better than the various early studied routing techniques. The purpose of this paper is the technique that uses RSSI value and location of sensor that is received by each sensor node to routing. This sduty does not save node information of 1-hop distance. And it solves energy-inefficient traffic problem that happens during data exchange process for middle node selection in close range multi hop transmission technique. The routing protocol technique that is proposed in this study selects a node relevant to the range of transmission which is set for RSSI value that is received by each node and selects the closest node as a middle node followed by location data. Therefore, it is for not exhaustion of node's energy by managing energy efficiently and cutting data transmission consuming until the destination node.
A sensor network is composed of a large number of sensor nodes that are densely deployed in a field. Each sensor performs a sensing task for detection specific events. After detecting this event, location information of the sensor node is very important. Range-based scheme of the proposed approaches typically achieve high accuracy on either node-to-node distances or angles, but this scheme have a drawback because all sensor nodes have the special hardware. On the other hand, range-free scheme provides economic advantage because of no needed hardware even if that leads to coarse positioning accuracy. In this paper, we propose a range-free localization algorithm without range information in wireless sensor networks. This is a range-free approach and uses a small number of anchor nodes and known sensor nodes. This paper develops a localization mechanism using the geometry conjecture (perpendicular bisector of a chord). The conjecture states that a perpendicular bisector of a chord passes through the center of the circle.
