This study aimed to examine Korean listeners' mode of perceiving sound duration as prolongation, whether dichotomous or continuous. Thirty-five Korean participants (17 men and 18 women) listened to the Korean segment /s/, which was lengthened by 0-980ms in 20-ms increments. Then, the participants were asked to rate each version of the sound based on a rating of one to 100 (the closer to 100, the more disfluent). To examine whether listeners perceived durational variations for the fricative segment dichotomously or continuously, a curve was estimated using the best-fitting regression model for the observed data with the highest adjusted R-squared value. The mode of perceiving durational variations for the segment was continuous (or gradient) rather than discontinuous (or dichotomous). No gender difference was found in the mode of perceiving prolongation. However, there was a significant gender difference in that men rated the most disfluent sounds higher than women. The findings of this study were further discussed in relation to the existing literature, and clinical implications for the assessment of stuttering were presented.

Sinsu Island in Korea National Marine Park is suitable for geological learning and geotourism as various geological structures, geological activities, and fossils can be observed. In this study, eight geosites were developed by analyzing 2015 revision science curriculum. The 3D panoramic geological virtual field trips were developed according to the three-step outdoor learning model. The 3D panoramic geological virtual field trips, which consist of 8 classes, are composed of cooperative learning by group, enabling autonomous inquiry activities. It is designed to realize convergence education that can learn not only geology but also creativity and humanity through nodular Limestones, exfoliation, salt weathering, perforated shell holes, sedimentary structures and environments, dinosaurs habitats, and volcanic activity. Five experts revised and supplemented the Delphi analysis method to verify the validity of the development purpose and direction. The satisfaction with the geological field for Sinsu Island course was 4.52, indicating that the overall satisfaction with the field course was high. By reflecting on the opinions of each student and reinforcing safety education, we completed the 3D panoramic geological virtual field trips for Sinsu Island. The 3D panoramic geological virtual field trips in Sinsu Island in Korea National Marine Park will be a good example of geology learning tourism where you can make memories and enjoy while studying geology.
This study aims to propose a crane-tip control method to intuitively control the end-effector vertically or horizontally for improving the crane work efficiency and to confirm the control performance. To verify the control performance based on experimental variables, a laboratory-scale crane was manufactured using an electric cylinder. Through a forward and reverse kinematics analysis, the crane was configured to output the position coordinates of the current crane-tip and the joint angle at each target point. Furthermore, a method of generating waypoints was used, and a dead band using lateral boundary offset (LBO) was set. Appropriate parameters were selected using bang-bang control, which confirmed that the number of waypoints and LBO radius were associated with positioning error, and the cylinder speed was related to the lead time. With increased number of waypoints and decreased LBO radius, the positioning error and the lead time also decreased as the cylinder speed decreased. Using the proportional control, when the cylinder velocity was changed at every control cycle, the lead time was greatly reduced; however, the actual control pattern was controlled by repeating over and undershoot in a large range. Therefore, proportional control was performed by additionally applying velocity gain that can relatively change the speed of each cylinder. Since the control performed with in a range of 10 mm, it was verified th at th e crane-tip control can be ach ieved with only th e proportional control to which the velocity gain was applied in a control cycle of 20 ms.

In the Yeongdong region of Gangwon-do, coastal areas are important resources in terms of cultural, social and economic aspects. However, the coast of Gangwon-do is experiencing severe erosion, and it is concerned that its adverse effects will gradually increase. In this study, coastline changes of Yangyang and Gangneung in Gangwon-do were tracked and analyzed over a long period of time. In order to build time series image data, aerial photos from the 1940s to the present were mainly used, and data from CORONA satellite, which operated from the 1960s to the early 1970s, were collected and used together. Using 51cm resolution ortho image and 2m resolution Digital Elevation Model(DEM) as reference, ground control points were selected to perform geometric correction on the aerial photos and CORONA images. Subsequently, Canny edge detector applied to these images to extract the coastlines. As a result of analyzing the extracted and vectorized coastlines by overlaying them in chronological order, erosion and deposition occurring around the artificial structures and on the nearby beaches were observed. In this study, the effect of seasonal variation, tide, and various coastal management including the beach filling were not considered. Because coastal erosion is greatly affected by geographic factors, each local government must find its own solution. Continuous research and local data accumulation are required.
Recently, agricultural sites are automating into digital agricultural smart farms by applying technologies such as big data and Internet of Things (IoT). These smart farms aim to increase production and improve crop quality by measuring the environment of crops, investigating and processing data. Production prediction is an important study in smart farm digital agriculture, which is a high-tech agriculture, and it is necessary to analyze environmental data using big data and further standardized research to manage the quality of growth information data. In this paper, environmental and production data collected from smart farm strawberry farms were analyzed and studied. Based on regression analysis, crop production prediction models were analyzed using Ridge Regression, LightGBM, and XGBoost. Among the three models, the optimal model was XGBoost, and R2 showed 82.5 percent explanatory power. As a result of the study, the correlation between the amount of positive fluid absorption and environmental data was confirmed, and significant results were obtained for the production prediction study. In the future, it is expected to contribute to the prevention of environmental pollution and reduction of sheep through the management of sheep by studying the amount of sheep absorption, such as information on the growing environment of crops and the ingredients of sheep.
In this study, it is intended to provide basic data that can help develop a cardiovascular simulator for performance evaluation of pulse wave detectors by identifying the development status of domestic and overseas cardiovascular simulators. A total of 119 papers were selected by excluding duplicate literature, gray literature, and literature not related to a cardiovascular simulator. Based on the selected literature, the research trend of cardiovascular simulators was analyzed. As a result of analyzing the purpose of the study, most of the simulators were developed to evaluate the hemodynamic properties of artificial hearts and valves. In addition, it was used for simulation evaluation or hemodynamic studies such as pulse wave studies. As a result of analyzing configurations of the simulators, a heart most often consisted of only one left ventricle. For blood vessels, the Windkessel model was most often constructed using chambers and valves. In most studies, blood was reproduced by mixing glycerin and water to reproduce both density and viscosity. In addition, as a result of analysis from the perspective of medical device performance evaluation, simulators for evaluating artificial heart and artificial valves have been studied a lot, whereas simulators for blood pressure, pulse wave, and blood flow devices have been relatively insignificant. Based on the review results, we suggested considerations when developing a simulator for performance evaluations of a pulse wave detector.

This study looked at the relationship between lifestyle choices and various substance addictions in young adults by applying the Relapse Prevention model of addiction. The data was obtained from a cross-sectional questionnaire (Depression and Anxiety Assessment Test) of 926 young adults aged 18~24 from 24 countries. Of these, 17.6% reported that they had a serious substance addiction, with alcohol addiction being the highest (11.2%), followed by nicotine (10.3%) and illicit drug (8.7%) usage. Results of chi-square test and logistic regression analysis revealed a significant association between various lifestyle factors (exercise patterns, intake of dietary nutrients like tryptophan, folic acid, omega-3 fatty acids and micronutrients, spiritual habits such as Bible reading and prayer) and addiction to various substances (illicit drugs, alcohol and nicotine). Depression was also found to be a significant factor influencing substance addiction. Interestingly, the risk of alcohol abuse was the highest at 9.870 (95% CI: 4.525-21.525) times among those who didn't have the habit of daily Bible reading. The highest risk of nicotine and illicit drug addiction was among those who consumed 'less than 1 serving' of dietary micronutrients per day compared to those who consumed '5 or more servings', with odds ratios of 9.606(95% CI: 2.726-30.111) and 8.642(95% CI: 2.022-37.378), respectively. These findings suggest that holistic lifestyle interventions may help prevent and reduce substance addiction in young adults.

This research analyzes the characteristics of Chinese tragic films with Chinese traditional ethical ideology as the core, analyzes its specific performance in the plot and ending setting of the film , and analyzes the director's tragic narrative strategy of cultural reconciliation in the face of political environment to understand the characteristics of Chinese contemporary tragic films. The film is a Chinese contemporary tragic film with The Great Cultural Revolution as its historical background. This film is a representative film of Chinese contemporary tragic films. The classic plot has played a certain role in the expression of Chinese traditional ethical ideology such as fatalism and optimistic attitude to life. The male lead's thought changes interpret the Chinese-style tragedy characteristics containing Chinese traditional ethical ideology. In the setting of the ending, the film broke through the "happy ending" model of Chinese traditional tragedies, and chose the open ending of "one tragedy to the end", further showing the time feature of Chinese contemporary tragic film. The euphemism and tenderness of the film as a tragic film is not only due to the compromise with the political culture of power, but also the result of the director's in-depth understanding of the aesthetics of Chinese tragedy. Through the use of symbolic signs in the film language, it has formed the implicit characteristics of the film narrative in the tragic aesthetic experience. In this paper, the author conducts text analysis for the film and discusses presentation of Director Yimou Zhang's tragic feelings and using the tragic narrative strategy of cultural reconciliation to show his creative wisdom in pursuing artistic breakthroughs under political pressure.

The extremely isolated uninhabited island at the end of the West Sea in South Korea called "The Gyeokryeolbi Yeoldo" has recently begun to be managed by the government under the influence of public opinion demanding the island to be strictly protected. The island was created 70 million years ago by volcanic activities. So it is older than the birth history of Jeju Island, which is estimated to have been born about a million years ago. This study has focused on providing the basis for imagetelling and storytelling of the Gyeokryeolbi Yeoldo, known for its important value by exploring the cultural resources of the island. For the research, the ethnography including in-depth local interview and on-site investigation have been applied for 3 years from February 2018 to December 2020 in Taean, Chungnam Province, where the island is located. To analyze the cultural resources of this island, the resource classification model has been designed and used, which is modified from Valentine (2001) and Chi-ho Nam (2007). As a result, the "tangible cultural resources (TCR)" including various remains found on the island were mainly symbols of cultural bridge in the history of Korea-China exchange, and the spiritual land of life-saving. Also "intangible cultural resources (ICR)" extracted from the island were focused on the images of life protection, safety, bravery, and romance. Based on this study, the core concept of identity to be applied when refurbishing the island with a prominent cultural placeness( "sense of place") can be proposed as "a cultural ecological island centered on the Circular Yellow Sea that ruminates memories of love."
Satellite imaging is an effective supplementary data source for detecting and verifying nuclear activity. It is also highly beneficial in regions with limited access and information, such as nuclear installations. Time series analysis, in particular, can identify the process of preparing for the conduction of a nuclear experiment, such as relocating equipment or changing facilities. Differences in the semantic segmentation findings of time series photos were employed in this work to detect changes in meaningful items connected to nuclear activity. Building, road, and small object datasets made of KOMPSAT 3/3A photos given by AIHub were used to train deep learning models such as U-Net, PSPNet, and Attention U-Net. To pick relevant models for targets, many model parameters were adjusted. The final change detection was carried out by including object information into the first change detection, which was obtained as the difference in semantic segmentation findings. The experiment findings demonstrated that the suggested approach could effectively identify altered pixels. Although the suggested approach is dependent on the accuracy of semantic segmentation findings, it is envisaged that as the dataset for the region of interest grows in the future, so will the relevant scope of the proposed method.
