The features of architecture related the childcare philosophy derived from this study are as follows: the way of participation and self-help, the extension of spatial scope and focuses on outside space, architecture of house-like residence rather than educational facility, spatial 'overlapping' focusing on transitional space and multi-purpose space rather than spatial partitions, the pursuit of creativity through play is realized in the incompletion and unspecification of space evolving over time.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine changes in Japanese fashion design through analysis of the background and characteristics of 'Japanesque Modern'. With the advent of globalization and pressures to enhance international competitiveness, key players in both Japanese government and industry feel an urgent need to establish a distinctive brand for its products. 'Japanesque Modern' was launched in January 2006 as a nationwide campaign through the support of the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). 'Japanesque Modern' strives to be a national movement, enhancing Japan's brand image while promoting continuous industrial innovation. 'Japanesque Modern' unites Japanese culture, design, and aesthetics with advanced technology, bringing traditional concepts to enrich contemporary life styles. In order to exemplify the 'Japanesque Modern' ideal, existing market products and content that reflect the concept were selected for the 'Japanesque Modern Collection' by the Japanesque Modern Council. In making these selections, the Council emphasized criteria based on three Japanese spiritual values: Craftsmanship; Manner; and Hospitality. As a result, three designs concepts have emerged in the 'Japanesque Modern Collection': the 'convergent method'; the 'conversion method'; and the 'emphasis method'. This research will explore these design concepts and their relationship to 'Japanesque Modern'.

  • According to the OECD Report, Korea passed the first threshold to an "aging society" in which the elderly aged over 65 make up at least 7 percent of the population in 2000, and in 2018, are due to pass the second to an "aged society" in which they make up at least 14 percent-just 18 years later. It took France (starting in 1864) 115 years to complete this transition. Even Japan, legendary for the rapidity of its aging, required 24 years. It means Korea has to prepare for the aging of its population within a very short time without mistakes. Meanwhile, in a 2005 survey of the elderly, 85.5% of them preferred aging in place to moving to elderly care facilities. That means housing planning for the elderly which provides them with independent living needs to be considered seriously. The digital technology integrated home may be one of the alternatives to support this idea. In order to find a way to user oriented digital homes for the elderly, this study identified the their needs on the physical features of the ideal home and the digital services necessary through digital life scenarios.

  • The Russian revolution and the successive "art into production" atmosphere provided a unique model of a strict inter-relation between social process and innovative process in the taste. Influenced by CUBISM, RAYONISM and SUPREMATISM emerged in Russia around the time of Russian revolution and gave way to CONSTRUCTIVISM, based on Tatlin's theory, which played a vital role to combine art with social committment. One of the first question to be established after the revolution was the function of art within the new society. First, it should be propagandistic and empahsise the benefit of the new state. Secondly, art could take on an affirmatory role putting foward ideal views of the society as example to be disscussed and followed. Thirdly, the Constructivists' view, "Death to Art" was their slogan. Their view was that the artists' work in the new society was to be based on the material value and beauty in fuction as this alone could be consistent with the aesthetics of Marx and Lenin. It sould be pointed out that among the various applied arts, textiles and clothing design were considered one of the most important role in propaganda and in support of the new socialst ideas. Traditionl handicrafts provided a repository of popular images and folk art continued to assert an influence on the textiles and clothing design after the revolution. Constructivists, such as Stepanova and Popova, went to the factory as direct answer to the invitation for the art-industry rapport. Thematic or propagandistic designs were directly connected to the daily life and national transformation.

  • Social media is an essential part of everyday life in modern society and plays an important role in communicating the ideal body image. With the increased prevalence and high popularity of social media, the problems associated with the addictive use of social media have become a social issue. Utilizing social comparison theory, this study examined (1) the effect of appearance related photo activities on body satisfaction through appearance comparison and (2) the moderating effect of Instagram addiction in relationships among appearance related photo activity, appearance comparison, and body satisfaction. We tested the proposed relationships between research variables using multi-group structural equation modeling analysis on a sample of 346 young female Instagram users. The sample was divided into two groups of high and low addicted Instagram users. The results of this study showed that the appearance related photo activity positively influenced appearance comparison for both high and low addiction groups. For the high addiction group, the effect of appearance comparison on body satisfaction was not statistically significant; however, this relationship was significant and negative for the low addiction group. A significant moderating effect of Instagram addiction was found in the relationship between appearance related photo activity and appearance comparison.

  • The study participants selected three participants in their late 40s and conducted a total of six sessions and in-depth interviews for 90 minutes to collect and analyze data using the phenomenological Giorgi research method. The conclusion according to the research results was drawn as follows. First, the shame, fear, reprimand, violence, passive attitude, and childhood that had to be adjusted seemed to maintain a stable life in the late forties, but still appeared in the present life. It was found that they showed a low self-satisfaction rather than positive satisfaction with self-concept and pursued an ideal self-image. Second, lifestyle was a time of severe depression, lethargy, and emptiness as a child, experiencing an unstable childhood due to a violent family, loss of attachment, overprotection, difficult economic conditions, and parental strife. It has been found that in the late forties, families have been established and religious life is being stabilized, and the responsibility for the family is valued. This shows how a lifestyle that gives meaning and recognizes what experience gives meaning to the childhood that one experienced. Insight into change and growth in middle-aged life, searching for and interpreting the initial recollections that they have experienced, accompanied by social and psychological changes in middle-aged men, discovering inappropriate meanings and goals and preparing for a second life in the age of 100 It is meaningful to provide.

  • This study aims to explore social participation needs among the elderly in Korea from the perspective of the elderly participant's. 40 Q-samples are drawn from the Q-population including attitudes and needs toward social participation in later life based on news articles, essays, research, documentary, and television shows. 35 subjects are analysed by the QUANL program and the types of social participation needs are divided into four patterns which accounted for 60.16% of the total variance. The elderly's portrayal of an ideal social participation is about making independent decisions and being able to actively participate in the activities they chose to do. However, their most undesirable scenario would be being confused and uncertain of what they should do the remainder of their lives. The needs of social participation among the elderly varies on four indicators such as ego, social capital, life satisfaction, life vitality and these four indicators have two sub-categories with a total of 8 types of classification. These 8 types differ by priorities, adaptation to life changes, motivation to social participation, and desired activity. Findings suggest that researchers and policy makers need to consider service user perspective on social participation in later life, not service provider perspective.

  • This empirical research mainly investigates the relationship between work-family conflict and organizational performance. Three key variables apply for the empirical research; work-family conflict, organizational performance, and family-friendly HR practices. A total of 230 questionnaires is collected from mid-sized companies for hypothesis testing. The empirical analysis shows that work-life balance has a great importance on workers' job satisfaction and intention to leave. The family-friendly HR practices play a moderating role between work-family conflict and organizational performance. The findings support the fact that achieving work-life balance enhances organizational performance and using family-friendly HR practices is an ideal for balancing between work- and family life.

  • This study was designed to present a river model with the aim of restoring the ecosystem and improving the landscape along the urban rivers on the basin of the Namhanl river, a core life channel for the National Capital regin. The revelation of botanical status, transition trend and correlation of plants might lead to providing the urban river restoration projects and ecological river formation projects with basic data for a model of ideal aquatic ecology and landscape. The outcomes of this study could be summed up as follows: 1. The plant communities of river flora found on the basin of the Namhan river could be categorized largely into 39 plant communities 2. Most diverse plants were distributed in the rivers lower reaches such as Unsim-ri where the protected zone of Paldang reservoir for city water borders the body of Jodae swamp where natural streams flow nearby. 3. One of the greatest threats to the biomass of the River Namhan is that the communities of such invasive alien plants as Panicum dichotomiflorum and Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior dominate most parts of the area, a fact that has resulted in a reduced variety of plants and will, sooner or later, be likely to cause an ecological imbalance in the hitherto healthy Aquatic plant life. It is highly advisable to gradually diversify the species of trees and to return the plants bark to their original state since, besides the naturalized plants, plantations afforested with Erigeron canadensis and Erigeron annuus stocks in buckwheat field, Robinia Pseudo-accacia in riverside forest, Pinus rigida in terrestrial forest on the river basin and Larix leptolepis are anticipated to act as interceptors of normal migrations of the fluvial and terrestrial ecosystems. Finally, it seems also desirable to continue to explore the relationship between fluvial and terrestrial ecologies with the purpose of building up a model of natural streams in urban areas based on the surveyed factors for plant life, soil and landscape and, moreover, on the forecasting for overall influences derived from the rotation upon the ecosystem.
