옥죽차의 향기성분 (Aroma Components of Ookjook Tea (Polygonatum Involucratum Maxim))

  • 둥굴레속 중에서도 흔하지 않는 용둥굴레(약초로 다룰 때는 옥죽이라고도 함)를 이용하여 제조되는 옥죽차를 사용하여 향기성분의 연구를 행하였다. 옥죽차의 제조법은 천성산 일대에서 인공재배하여 $4{\sim}5$년 자란 용둥굴레의 뿌리를 9번 찌고 9번 건조하는 방법인 9증 9포(九蒸九曝)법을 적용하는데, 그 제조 과정중의 향기성분을 단계별로 Likens and Nickerson의 연속증류추출법으로 추출하고, GC 및 GC-MS법으로 분석, 동정하였다. 그 결과 원재료에는 향기성분이 거의 없었으나, 찌고 덖는 과정을 거치는 동안 furfural, furfuryl alcohol, 2-acetylfuran, 5-methylfurfural, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural 및 2-methyl-dihydro-2(3Η)-furanone등과 methylpyrazine과 2,3-dimethylpyrazine 등의 pyrazine류, acetic acid 및 propionic acid등의 acid류가 생성되었다.

국내 약침 특허 현황에 대한 분석연구 (Review on the Pharmacopuncture Patent in Korea)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of pharmacopuncture in Korean patent in order to establish database for patent technology. Methods : Electronic literature searches for Korean patents related to pharmacopuncture were performed in two electronic databases (Korea Intellectual Property Right Information Service and National Digital Science Library) to June 2017. Patents that were not Korean ones, did not use medicinal herb, only described method of manufacture, or had nothing to do with pharmacopuncture were excluded in this study. The status and application date of patents, Medicinal herb, target diseases, International Patent Classification (IPC), model of experiment and extracting methods were analyzed. Results : A total of 379 patents were retrieved. Based on our inclusion/exclusion criteria, 297 patents were excluded. Of 82 included patents, 27 patents did not include experiments using pharmacopuncture, and 9 patents were invented for treating animals such as pig or calf. In IPC analysis, Bee Venom, Panax (ginseng), Angelica, and Paeoniaceae were used frequently. Musculoskeletal diseases were the most targeted diseases followed by nervous diseases. For extracting, hot water extraction, distillation extraction, and solvent extraction using alcohol, ethanol, or methanol for solvent were commonly used. Conclusions : These data are useful for inventing new patent and extending range of pharmacopuncture in clinical use, however, more systematically analyzed patent studies and pharmacopuncture-related studies for new application on various diseases are needed in further studies.

녹차와 갈근을 혼합한 차의 휘발성 향기성분 (Volatile Flavor Components In a Mixed Tea of Pueraria Radix and Green Tea)

  • 다양한 생리활성을 갖는 것으로 알려진 갈근을 중급 정도의 녹차와 혼합하여 갈근녹차를 제조하고 기호도와 관련이 있는 휘발성성분을 동시증류추출법에 의해 추출하여 GC 및 GC-MS로 분석, 동정하고 비교하였다. 갈근과 녹차를 1:1로 혼합한 갈근녹차의 향기성분으로 총 82종류를 동정하였다. 갈근녹차에는 갈근의 향기성분 18종류와 녹차의 향기성분 33종류 및 공통으로 포함된 31종류의 화합물들로 구성되어 있었다. 녹차의 향기성분으로 linalool, $\alpha$-ionone 및 nerolidol 등의 꽃향과 safranal, methyl butanal 등의 달콤한 향이 대부분을 차지하였다. 갈근의 향기성분으로 hexanal, trans-2-nonenal 및 $\beta$-selinene 등의 풋풋한 향과 decanal, limonene 등의 달콤한 향이 대부분을 차지하였다. 갈근녹차의 향기성분은 녹차의 향기성분인 달콤한 향을 띄는 furan류와 꽃향이나 산뜻한 과일 향을 띄는 linalool, nerolidol, 구수한 향을 띄는 pyrazine류와 pyrrole류에 갈근특유의 향기성분인 terpene계 화합물과 풋풋한 향을 띄는 trans-2-nonenal 및 $\beta$-selinene 등이 혼합되어 나타났다.

우울증에 대한 천연물 추출물 국내 특허 동향 분석 (Natural Product Extracts for Depression: Analysis of Patent Status in South Korea)

  • Objectives: To analyze the trend of Korean patents of natural product extracts for depression. This study also aimed to enhance the development and application of natural product extracts for depression in Korean herbal medicine. Methods: We searched the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service and Science ON to collect Korean patent data of natural product extracts for depression. Two authors independently screened and assessed full texts of screened patents for eligibility. Included patents were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Results: A total of 62 patents from 2002 to December 2021 were included for analysis. The number of patents has constantly increased since 2002. Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fischer, Perilla frutescens Britton var. acuta Kudo, Zizyphus jujuba Miller var. inermis Rehder were frequently used among 62 patents. Alcohol extraction was mostly used, followed by water extraction and ethyl extraction regarding extract methods. Eight patents were herbal medicine used for treating depression in Korean Medicine. Conclusions: Various Korean herbal medicine and minerals were used as natural-products for treating depression. These results provide fundamental data that can be used for inventing new patents using Korean herbal medicine, developing new natural product extracts for depression, and extending the range of application of these products in clinical setting.

Contents of $\beta$-Glucan in Various Cereals and Its Functional Properties

  • A soluble dietary fiber, $\beta$-glucan, contained in oat and barley has nutritional benefits such as hypocholesterolemic effects and influences blood glucose regulation. The contents of $\beta$-glucan in both cereals range from 3 to 7% with the exception of a certain barley genotype which contains up to 16% $\beta$-glucan. $\beta$-Glucan is distributed mainly in the cell walls of endosperm and the distal (bran) portion of kernel. Various procedures have been developed for increasing the extraction yield of $\beta$-glucan. Oat gum prepared with weak alkali extractionand alcohol proecipitation following protein removal usually contains 80% $\beta$-glucan.The most commonly used method for $\beta$-glucan quantitiation is an enzymatic procedure combining lichenase plus $\beta$-glucosidase followed by measuring the amount of glucos released by glucose oxidase-peroxidase treatment. The increase in foam-and emulsion-stabilizing capacity of $\beta$-glucan is due to the increase in viscosity of the aqueous phase. Therefore, $\beta$-glucan shows great potentials as a thickener and a stabilizer.

  • AF-011A is a novel lipopeptide with potent antifungal activity isolated from Pseudomonas cepacia AF6008 deposited as KFCC 10759. The compound was isolated from the fermentation broth by extraction with 50% isopropyl alcohol. Purification was effected by chromatography on Diaion HP-20, Alumina and C18 followed by HPTLC on silica gel. These techniques affored two closelt related compounds. AF-011A1 ans AF-011A2. The molecular weights of AF-011A1/A2 were determined by fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry(A1 m/z 1,215 : A2 m/z 1,199).

  • To investigate the potency of some natural extracts as skin whitening agents, in this study, 25 natural plants were prepared from natural sources including medicinal plants, such as Angelica dahurica using methylene dichloride, ethyl acetate, n-butyl alcohol, and water as the extraction and/or the partitioning solvents. These natural extracts were subsequently subjected to in-vitro DOPA auto-oxidation test in the media containing human or mushroom tyrosinase as the oxidation promoting enzymes. 黃蓍成分에 關한 硏究 (第3報). 有機結晶成分抽出과 結晶確認에 關하여 (The Studies on the Components of Astragalus Membranaceus Bunge (Ⅲ) Extraction of the Organic Components with Methanol and Identification of the Crystals)

  • "Astragalus Membranaceus Bunge", which is a medical herb, grows wild in Manchuria and Korea, is cultivated today in Korea. Any literature about the organic components of "Astragalus Membranaceus Bunge" has been extracted with methanol referring to a literature of "Panax Ginseng C.A. Meyer" and two kinds of colorless crystals were obtained. After recrystallization in absolute alcohol, the melting point has been measured. The one kind was $181-182^{\circ}C$ and the others, $184-186{\circ}C$ respectively. It does not contain nitrogen, sulfur and halogen. By Liebermann's reaction, the one kind was not a carbohydrate but might be a Saponin. Through paper chromatography, taste, melting point, spectrophotometry, and elemental analysis, it was concluded that the other was Sucrose. It has been notified that the compound can be crystallized at the proper temperature, purity, and concentration of the solution and also solvent system.
