Based on the data representing four typical Korean pine forest types, the age structure, DBH distribution, species composition, and forking rule were systemically analyzed for old-growth Korean pine forest in Liangshui Nature Reserve, northeast China. The age structure of Korean pine trees was strongly uneven-aged with one dominated peak following normal distribution, and age of trees varied from 100 to 180 years within a stand. The DBH and height differences in same age class (20 years) varied from 28 cm~64 cm and 5 to 20 m, respectively. Many conifer and hard wood species, such as spruce, fir, costata birch, basswood, oak, and elm, were mixed with dominated trees of Korean pine. The canopy of the old-growth Korean pine forest can be divided into two layers, and differences of mean age and height between Layer I and Layer II were ranged 80~150 years and 7~13 m, respectively. The Weibull function was used to model the diameter distribution and performed well to describe size-class distribution either with a single peak in over-story canopy and inverse J-shape in under-story canopy for old-growth Korean pine stands. The forking height of Korean pine trees ranged from 16m to 24 m (mean 19.4 m) and tree age about 120 to 160 years old. The results will provide a scientific basis to protect and recover the ecosystem of natural old-growth Korean pine and also provide the model in management of Korean pine plantation.

The form of their living room door showed a hinged door(54.5%) and a sliding door(45.5%) which were similar with each other. The finished material was that wood accounted for 42.6% which was highest. The cooking table form of kitchen was mainly "\ulcorner"-shaped(49.5%) and "\ulcorner"-shaped(48.5%) which were highest, and their average height appeared to be 815mm. The fuel used for kitchen was that gas accounted for 93.3%, while 95.2% of the surveyed houses was not equipped with any gas-warning device. 75.5% had an integrated type of bath room and toilet. In addition, the stepped difference between the bath room and other space was that 70.8% had the difference, but they had no a satisfactory sliding-prevention device(Not for 91.6%) or heating system(Not for 92.9%).stem(Not for 92.9%).
Since Korea has already become the 'aging society' and is expected to become the 'aged society' by 2019, development of the facilities and dedicated housing for the senior citizens have become the key issues. The growing population of the senior citizens, changed in the social structure, family type, and the way of living brings a moment to consider the various aspects to support the senior citizens. Now the situation in Korea requires development of congregate housing as a type of residential units for elder who can live at home with some help. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to analyze preference tendency on the interior finishing materials and colors of the congregate housing for the senior citizens who are healthy enough not needing the nursing home. For this research, the preference of 500 Korean pre-senior citizens on the interior finishing materials and colors of congregate housing for the seniors was investigated. The collected data was processed using SPSS 10.0 for Windows regarding frequency, percentage, average, Chi-squared test with cross tabulation. The results are as follows: First, about $60\%$ of the respondents preferred Korean traditional interior image for individual units, and modern interior image for common areas. Second, the respondents preferred wood flooring and wallpaper interior finishing. Third, the respondents Preferred Y, YR color for individual units, and N color for common areas and very pale tone for all spaces. Fourth, the respondents preferred luxury finishing to living room in the all spaces.

Background Glomus tumors were first described by Wood in 1812 as painful subcutaneous tubercles. It is an uncommon benign neoplasm involving the glomus body, an apparatus that involves in thermoregulation of cutaneous microvasculature. Glomus tumor constitutes 1%-5% of all hand tumors. It usually occurs at the subungual region and more commonly in aged women. Its classical clinical triad consists of pain, tenderness and temperature intolerance, especially cold sensitivity. This study reviews 15 cases of glomus tumor which were analyzed according to its anatomic location, surgical approach and histologic findings. Methods Fifteen patients with subungual glomus tumors of the hand operated on between January 2006 and March 2013, were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were evaluated preoperatively with standard physical examination including ice cube test and Love's test. Diagnostic imaging consisted of ultrasonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. All procedures were performed with tourniquet control under local anesthesia. Eleven patients underwent excision using the transungual approach, 3 patients using the volar approach and 1 patient using the lateral subperiosteal approach. Results Total of 15 cases were reviewed. 11 tumors were located in the nail bed, 3 in the volar pulp and 1 in the radial aspect of the finger tip. After complete excision, patients remained asymptomatic in the immediate postoperative period. In the long term follow up, patients exhibited excellent cosmetic results with no recurrence. Conclusions Accurate diagnosis should be made by physical, radiologic and pathologic examinations. Preoperative localization and complete extirpation is essential in preventing recurrence and subsequent nail deformity.

It is known that ethanolamines play a critical role for deacidification of paper sized by alum-rosin. However, amines also are effective as a chelating agent of metal. The present work was focused on whether amines could scavenge metals and prevent from the aging of paper. Metals such as alum, copper(II) and iron(III) was added to paper, and the paper treated with amines was aged in a thermo-hygrostat for 3-6 days. In the case of paper added to alum, the amines efficiency against paper aging was good in the oder of triethanolamine, diethanolamine and monoethanolamine attributable to the intensity of basicity and steric effect. Even in the case of paper treated with copper(II) chloride, iron(III) chloride, and copper(II) chloride, the significant preservation efficiency was shown by ethanolamine during accelerated aging. This outcome pinpoints the fact that ethanolamine can prevent paper aging not only from acid by neutralizing acid contained in paper but also from metals by producing of complexes with metals. These consequences above convince that ethanolamine makes it possible for mass deacidification for paper which contains acid and metals. Future studies should be conducted concerning whether, in reality, the treatment of its gas mode, in a single or multiple applications, has significant effect on lessening paper aging.
In this paper, to investigate the deinkability of domestic and Australian old newsprint according to aging time, two types of newsprint printed with commercial offset ink in domestic(K; Korean newsprint, C; Canadian newsprint), Japanase(J) and Australian(A) old newsprint were aged naturally for 10, 30, 90, 180 days, and then yield, brightness, fiber length, and physical properties (tensile index, tear index, burst index) were evaluated according to aging time. As the aging time increased, the yield and brightness of respective samples decreased. The brightness and yield were decreased in the order of A, K, J and C. The brightness and strength of newsprint varied according to the ink formulation and kinds of pulp and wood. The decreasing order of strength is subsequently J, K, C and A.

In this study, the chemical compositions of $PM_{2.5}$ samples collected at the Redwood National Park IMPROVE site in California from March 1988 to May 2004 were analyzed to provide source identification and apportionment. A total of 1,640 samples were collected and 33 chemical species were analyzed by particle induced X-ray emission, proton elastic scattering analysis, photon induced X-ray fluorescence, ion chromatography, and thermal optical reflectance methods. Positive matrix factorization (PMF) was used to develop source profiles and to estimate their mass contributions. The PMF modeling identified five sources and the average mass was apportioned to motor vehicle (35.8%, $1.58\;{\mu}g/m^3$), aged sea salt (23.2%, $1.02\;{\mu}g/m^3$), fresh sea salt (21.4%, $0.94\;{\mu}g/m^3$), wood/field burning (16.1%, $0.71\;{\mu}g/m^3$), and airborne soil (3.5%, $0.15\;{\mu}g/m^3$), respectively. To analyze local source impacts from various wind directions, the CPF and NPR analyses were performed using source contribution results with the wind direction values measured at the site. These results suggested that sources of $PM_{2.5}$ are also sources of visibility degradation and then source apportionment studies derived for $PM_{2.5}$ are also used for understanding visibility problem.
