  • The nonlinearity of a Boolean function f on $GF(2)^n$ is the minimum hamming distance between f and all affine functions on $GF(2)^n$ and it measures the ability of a cryptographic system using the functions to resist against being expressed as a set of linear equations. Finding out the exact value of the nonlinearity of given Boolean functions is not an easy problem therefore one wants to estimate the nonlinearity using extra information on given functions, or wants to find a lower bound or an upper bound on the nonlinearity. In this paper we extend the notion of auto-correlations of Boolean functions to vector Boolean functions and obtain upper bounds and a lower bound on the nonlinearity of vector Boolean functions in the context of their auto-correlations. Also we can describe avalanche characteristics of vector Boolean functions by examining the extended notion of auto-correlations.

  • In the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control, from a set of fuzzy IF-THEN rules adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control whose parameters are adjusted on-line according to some adaptation laws is constructed for the purpose of controlling the plant to track a desired trajectory.   • In this paper, we provide the synthesis of non-fragile H$\infty$ output feedback controllers for linear systems with affine parameter uncertainties, and dynamic output feedback controller with structural uncertainty.   • This paper presents a design of FIR near-equiripple Nyquist filters having zero-intersymbol interference (ISI) and low sensitivity to timing jitter, with coefficients taking only discrete values. Using an affine scaling linear programming algorithm, an optimum discrete coefficient set can be obtained in a feasible computational time. Also presented is a pipelined multiplier-free FIR filter realization with periodically time-varying (PTV) coefficients based on a hybrid form suitable for Nyquist filter. The realization exploits the coefficient symmetry to reduce the hardware by about one half. High speed computation and low power consumption are achieved by its pipelined and low fan-out structure.

  • This paper describes the synthesis of robust and non-fragile $H^{i~}$state feedback controllers for linear varying systems with time delay and affine parameter uncertainties, as well as static state feedback controller with structural uncertainty. The sufficient condition of controller existence, the design method of robust and non-fragile $H^{i~}$static state feedback controller, and the region of controllers satisfying non-fragility are presented. Also, using some change of variables and Schur complements, the obtained conditions can be rewritten as parameterized Linear Matrix Inequalities (PLMIs), that is, LMIs whose coefficients are functions of a parameter confined to a compact set. We show that the resulting controller guarantees the asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed loop system in spite of time delay and controller gain variations within a resulted polytopic region.

  • Let M be an exponentially bounded o-minimal expansion of the standard structure R = (R ,+,.,<) of the field of real numbers. We prove that if r is a non-negative integer, then every definable $C^{r}$ manifold is affine. Let f : X ${\longrightarrow}$ Y be a definable $C^1$ map between definable $C^1$ manifolds. We show that the set S of critical points of f and f(S) are definable and dim f(S) < dim Y. Moreover we prove that if 1 < s < ${\gamma}$ < $\infty$, then every definable $C^{s}$ manifold admits a unique definable $C^{r}$ manifold structure up to definable $C^{r}$ diffeomorphism.

  • This paper deals with the control of a nonlinear experimental helicopter system by using the fuzzy-model-based control approach. The fuzzy model of the experimental helicopter system is constructed from the original nonlinear dynamic equations in the form of an affine Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy system. In order to design a feasible switching-type fuzzy-model-based controller, the TS fuzzy system is converted to a set of uncertain linear systems, which is used as a basic framework to synthesize the fuzzy-model-based controller.

  • Adaptive algorithm used in Acoustic Echo Canceller (AEC) needs fast convergence algorithm when reference signal is colored speech signal. Set-Membership Affine Projection (SMAP) algorithm is derived from the constraint, which is the minimum value adaptive filter coefficient error. In this paper, we test the characteristic about noise of the SMAP algorithm and proposed modified version of SMAP algorithm fur using at AEC. As the projection order increase, the convergence characteristic of the SMAP algorithm is improved where no noise space. But if the noise uncorrelated with input signal exists, the AEC shows bad performance. In this paper, we propose normalized version of adaptive constants using estimated error signal for robust to noise and show the good performance through AEC simulation.

  • This paper proposes a method of implementing synthetic stereo and an acoustic echo cancellation algorithm for multiple participant conference system. Synthetic stereo is generated by HRTF and two loudspeakers. A robust adaptive algorithm for synthetic stereo echo cancellation is proposed to reduce the weight misalignment due to near-end speech signals and ambient noises. The proposed adaptive algorithm is modified version of SMAP algorithm and the coefficients of adaptive filter is updated with cross correlation of input and estimation error signal normalized with sum of the autocorrelation of input signal and the power of the estimation error signal multiplied with projection order. This is more robust to projection order and ambient noise than conventional SMAP. Computer simulation show that the proposed algorithm effectively attenuates synthetic stereo acoustic echo.
