In order to achieve this the aesthetic approach was applied. Visual commonalities were sought between fashion and contemporary architecture, furniture, ceramic and metalware, to lead to a deeper insight into the aesthetic consciousness. Common visual characteristics are curvedness of the line, obliqueness of the line, asymmetry of the form, exaggeration of the form and symbolic nature of the form. The content which can be analogized from the visual characteristics are the beauty of the nature, the beauty of the glamourous feminity, the beauty of the ideal and the beauty of the creative personality. In the creating process, the existential aspect of human being became a focus of attention, and human being's subjectivity operated as a principal force. In the late Modernism fashion, the appreciator's aesthetic experience became more important, and the appreciator's psychological satisfaction and pleasure were considered in the creative process. Fashion, architecture and crafts, which fulfill functional duties in everyday life, facilitated the appreciator's aesthetic experience through empathy. This study inquires into the relationship between aesthetic consciousness and visual form. This study offers meaning because to uncover the connoted aesthetic consciousness in the late Modernism fashion is to pursue the roots of current aesthetic consciousness and it is hoped that in doing so this study will provide a basis for interpreting and understanding today's fashion style.

  • Background Fascial free flaps have been widely used for reconstruction of the hand because they are thin. However, studies reporting objective data regarding the advantages of this approach are lacking. Thus, we report our experience with such flaps. Methods Forty-five cases of fascial free flaps between November 2006 and March 2014 were reviewed. Nine cases involving reconstructed dorsal or lateral defects were included. Four anterolateral thigh fascial free flaps and 5 lateral arm fascial free flaps were examined. Maximal flap contour was assessed by measuring reconstructed tissue thickness at the central area from the surface of the skin to below the bone in a vertical manner using ultrasonography and X-ray data. Contralateral regions were examined in the same manner and a comparative analysis was performed. A questionnaire survey regarding aesthetic satisfaction was also administered. Results All reconstructed parts had a thicker contour than the contralateral side. The average relative percentage of reconstructed tissue thickness was found to be 152% using ultrasonography and 143% using X-ray imaging. According to the aesthetic satisfaction survey, the average rate of satisfaction for patients was 62%, and satisfaction with the flap contour was 72%. Conclusions Using a fascial free flap, the reconstructed tissue was approximately $1.5{\times}$ as thick as the contour of the normal side, which led to positive responses regarding aesthetic satisfaction.

  • This study is intended to examine the effect of characteristics of museum visitors and visit type on perceived relative status, aesthetic responses, and perceived visit benefits, which in turn affect visitor satisfaction and personal and social participatory behaviors. Research was held for four weeks. A total of 308 questionnaires were collected out of 315 distributed. However, additional 15 were excluded due to inadequate responses. The findings of the study are as follows: While museum visitor characteristics yielded significant effects on the perceived relative status and perceived visit benefit, it did not have significant effects on aesthetic responses. Additionally, while visit types showed considerable impact on perceived relative status, it did not yield significant effect on aesthetic responses or the perceived visit benefit. Perceived relative status of a museum had positive effects on aesthetic responses, but not on the perceived visit benefit. Furthermore, while perceived relative status did not have significant effect on visitor satisfaction, it did have evident effects on the aesthetic response and the perceived visit benefit. Lastly, greater visitor satisfaction was confirmed to contribute to greater participatory behavior in various prospective programs and events offered by museums. Hence, it would be imperative for museums to gear their attention to encourage internal participatory behaviors such as visitor education, donation and charity events, which would consequently transcend to viewing museums more as a public space shared by the general public.
