Since Google's AlphaGo defeated a world champion of Go players in 2016, there have been many interests in the deep learning. In the financial sector, a Robo-Advisor using deep learning gains a significant attention, which builds and manages portfolios of financial instruments for investors. In this paper, we have proposed the a deep learning algorithm geared toward identification and forecast of the KOSPI index direction, and we also have compared the accuracy of the prediction. In an application of forecasting the financial market index direction, we have shown that the Robo-Advisor using deep learning has a significant effect on finance industry. The Robo-Advisor collects a massive data such as earnings statements, news reports and regulatory filings, analyzes those and recommends investors how to view market trends and identify the best time to purchase financial assets. On the other hand, the Robo-Advisor allows businesses to learn more about their customers, develop better marketing strategies, increase sales and decrease costs.
This study analyzed the factors that influence the research productivity of 236 graduate students who are funded by the Global Ph.D. Fellowship Program of the National Research Foundation of Korea. Research productivity was measured by the number of SCI publications, and the explanatory factors are the demographic factor, the financial factor, the reputation of institutions and the supervisor factor. This study included 2 indices such as the reputation of institutions and the research productivity of supervisors to check the halo effect unlike other studies. Results are as follows: 1) no gender difference, 2) better performance by younger age group, 3) no difference even if the students are additionally funded by other research support programs, 4) no halo effect by the reputation of institution but rather better performance from low ranked universities, 5) and a positive halo effect by supervisors.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of reviewer's attributes on review usefulness while exploring the variables that can moderate the relationship between reviewer's attributes and review usefulness through empirical analysis. Design/methodology/approach To understand the impact of online reviewer profiles on review usefulness and how these impacts change, this study collected more than 30,000 online reviews of restaurants through TripAdvisor.com, that is a representative OTA shares tourism information. We analyze the moderating effects of four variables such as review length, review equivocality, review uncertainty, and review readability. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, this study reveals that the reviewer's profile attribute can significantly improve the review usefulness of the reviewer, and confirmed the moderating effect of the review's attribute(Review length, Equivocality, Uncertainty, Readability).
As cultural background contributes members of society to recognize and behave in a specific direction, customers with different cultural backgrounds show various reactions even when they are provided with the same service. Previous studies have used the Hofstede cultural dimension to understand how hotel visitors' satisfaction varies with the provided service as per their cultural background. However existing research only considered the cultural background of the guests, and there are not many studies focused on the types of travel. Therefore, in this study, the travel types of hotel visitors are classified into business travel visitors and leisure tourism visitors, and analyzed the effect of Hofstede's cultural dimension on hotel selection attributes according to the styles of travel. In this study, we collected information on six cultural dimensions of Hofstede, and from TripAdvisor, a representative tourism platform, 204,261 optional attribute ratings for hotels in New York to investigate the satisfaction of hotel selection attributes. In conclusion, it is expected that this study will be able to identify which service attributes the customers of various cultures who visit hotels put emphasis in advance, and therefore provide suitable service accordingly.
Purpose: This study aims to analysis the difference by Michelin rating in customer satisfaction of restaurant listed in the Korea Michelin Guide. There are opinions that the Michelin Guide's rating system and evaluation criteria are somewhat ambiguous. Research design, data, and methodology: This study collected 145 actual online reviews published on TripAdvisor to examine how the effect of the content attributes of reviews on consumer satisfaction varies according to the Michelin grade. Based on this, two studies were conducted. Study 1 examined the effect of strong and weak positive reviews on consumer satisfaction according to the rating. Study 2 examined the effect of image information on consumer satisfaction. Results: The results revealed that the lower the Michelin rating, the more positive review had a significant effect on consumer satisfaction. The higher the rating, the more image information had an effect on consumer satisfaction. Expectations for Michelin three-star restaurants are higher than those of two-star restaurants, so customers are more likely to be used negatively when writing reviews. Conclusions: Accurate information on Michelin selection criteria should be delivered so as not to form high expectations and not to disappoint. For consumers to be satisfied with the name Michelin, the standards should be stricter.

Data mining technique was used to track student's performance during years studding in college and determine the impact of GPA_SEC on the GPA student rates according to the current academic advising method used on student's status. The study utilized a sample of 5436 individuals were drawn from two colleges in Majmaah University, KSA during 2013-2018 period. The results showed that the student's completion status in terms of graduation, dropout, Stumbling or dismissed was classified according to the average grades of admission from secondary school GPA_SEC. The results show the effect of the current academic advising that most of students gain less grades comparing with GPA_SEC in addition that the higher GPA_SEC was the higher graduation, dropout and dismissed decreased when GPA_SEC was high.. Therefore, the study recommends tracking students academically to evaluate their results of each semester to find out the causes of the deficiencies and addressing them within the departments.
Purpose: This study is on the priority for improving students satisfaction in university educational service. It explores the dimension of service quality and analyzes the relationship among quality elements, service satisfaction, and loyalty. Methods: This paper performs empirical studies by questionnaire survey. The Timko model is used for finding the degree of possible improvement of quality elements, and structural equation and regression models are used to analyze the effect of them on service satisfaction and loyalty. Also, explanatory factor analysis is used to investigate the quality determinants. Results: The quality dimension is composed of curriculum, employment support, interaction with outsiders, start-up support, learning support, counselling, and administration service. Curriculum, learning support, and administration service are positively correlated with service satisfaction, and service satisfaction has a positive effect on loyalty. Counselling service is an attractive element, and curriculum, start-up support, and learning support are indifferent elements. Conclusion: Comprehensive analysis shows that curriculum, academic advisor, and administration service have high priorities for improving educational service satisfaction.
Purpose This study investigated the impact of review language style (affective vs. cognitive) on review helpfulness and the moderating effects of the types of attractions in the relationships between the review language and its helpfulness. Design/methodology/approach This study investigates the impact of review language style (affective vs. cognitive) on review helpfulness and the moderating effects of the types of attractions in the relationships between the review language and its helpfulness. This study selected two hedonic and utilitarian attractions (Hedonic: Brandenburg Gate, Utilitarian: Peragamon Museum) located in Berlin. A total of 3,320 reviews was collected from TripAdvisor. We divided online reviews posted for these places into reviews with more affective language and with more cognitive language by using the LIWC. Then, we investigated the impact of language effect on review helpfulness across the attraction type. Findings The findings suggest that peers tend to judge more helpful toward cognitive language in attraction reviews regardless of attraction type. This study found that peers tend to perceive more helpful toward cognitive review in utilitarian attractions. Even though there was an interaction effect between review language and attraction type, in hedonic attractions, the influence of cognitive language was reduced, but still cognitive reviews would get more helpful votes.
Advisor: Prof. The quality of apical seal obtained with 3 different gutta-percha obturation techniques was compared in 49 recently extracted single rooted teeth. The root canals were instrumented using step-back technique and obturated with laterally condensed gutta-percha, Continuous Wave gutta-percha, and hybrid technique. Teeth were suspended in black India ink for 7 days, cleared, and then examined under a stereomicroscope at ${\times}10$ magnification. The results were as follows; 1. All experimental groups produced favorable apical seal. 2. The mean leakage was $0.23{\pm}0.25mm$ for group 1, $0.17{\pm}0.21mm$ for group 2, and $0.19{\pm}0.23mm$ for froup 3, but there was no statistical difference amoung them. Within the limits of the results of this experiment, the Continuous Wave gutta-percha obturation technique demonstrated relatively favorable apical sealing effect and shorter obturation time. Thus, it is thought that this obturation technique is a acceptable method for clinical use but further studies on this metter should be conducted.
There is a growing interest for 'Cloud computing' to cut costs, and help the users focus on their core business instead of being impeded by IT obstacles. As it became IT version 3.0 which represents the era of cloud services and the dominance of a new kind of IT service provider, cloud service providers (CSPs)' role is more critical as a trusted IT advisor to include cloud migration and integration expertise. However, previous literatures related to cloud computing service have mainly analyzed from customers, although it is hard for customers to totally understand the complex and diverse cloud ecosystem. Therefore, it is an urgent task to mitigate the inhibitory factors in providing the cloud services for activating cloud industry. This study, an exploratory research based on interviews, has derived factors of promoting and hindering the activation of cloud computing from the provider's perspective, and has analyzed a sequence of cause and effect for each factor. For this, the casual loop diagram was developed to deduce key issues, and propose an alternative. The results of this study are expected to help activate 'Cloud computing' in Korea by minimizing the potential negative effects of activating 'Cloud computing' industry.
