Forth, efficient communication among members was demonstrated to significantly influence advertisement and other public-relations activities. Fifth, opacity of market environment appeared to have a significant effect on product quality, prior market entrance as perceived by organization members turned to be of negative influence on product quality. Sixth, opacity of market environment was found to have a significant effect on price policies. Seventh, opacity of market environment was shown to be of significant effect on distribution strategies. Eighth, grater opacity of market environment proved to improve advertisement and other public-relations activities. Ninth, price policies, distribution strategies, advertisement and public-relations activities were found to have a significant effect on brand equity value. To sum up these findings, in order for corporations and businesses to cope with consumers' needs that are increasingly segmented, internal marketing strategies and brand diversification should be implemented so as to generate greater synergy effect. It is also important to stress that differentiated, higher competitiveness should be secured for Korean corporations and businesses to survive in the drastically changing, globalized market environment. In this regard, continuous and long-term management strategies for brand equity build-up should be ensured and is essential in the present unlimited competition. The last but not least important point to notice is that to increase brand equity value, intensive investment and constant emphasis should be made on internal marketing management on intra-organizational members before strengthening external marketing.

  • This study uses Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) to investigate the management efficiency of Korean shipping companies based on business administration costs such as corporate entertainment, advertisement, and labor costs. We analyze shipping enterprises listed on the Korean stock market of the period of 2010-2014. Corporate entertainment, advertisement and labor costs are used as input variables and sales and net income are used as output variables. We use technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency, scale efficiency and returns to scale to propose a plan to improve the efficiency of inefficiency decision-making units (DMUs). The results of the efficiency analysis show that six of the DMUs in the technical efficiency of CCR model and eight of the DMUs in the pure technical efficiency of BCC model are in efficient state. In terms of return to scale, six of the DMUs(24% of all DMUs) show increasing returns to scale, while 13 DMUs(52% of all DMUs) showdecreasing returns to scale. Because multiple efficient state for DMUs exist in the technical efficiency analysis, we conduct a super efficiency analysis. The results show that the efficient state of the twomost efficient DMUs are 1.314 and 1.243, respectively. This implies that these DMUs could maintain their current levels of the efficiency if they increase the amount spent on advertisements, corporate entertainment and labor costs by 31.4% and 24.3%. respectively. We conclude this study by providing the efficiency states of each DMU and target for improving the inefficiencies in each case.

  • Customization and personalization services are considered as a critical success factor to be a successful Internet store or web service provider. As a representative personalization technique, personalized recommendation techniques are studied and commercialized to suggest products or services to a customer of Internet storefronts based on demographics of the customer or based on an analysis of the past purchasing behavior of the customer. The underlining theories of recommendation techniques are statistics, data mining, artificial intelligence, and/or rule-based matching. In the rule-based approach for personalized recommendation, marketing rules for personalization are usually collected from marketing experts and are used to inference with customers data. however, it is difficult to extract marketing rules from marketing experts, and also difficult to validate and to maintain the constructed knowledge base. In this paper, we proposed a marketing rule extraction technique for personalized recommendation on Internet storefronts using market basket analysis technique, a well-known data mining technique. Using marketing basket analysis technique, marketing rules for cross sales are extracted, and are used to provide personalized advertisement selection when a customer visits in an Internet store. An experiment has been performed to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed approach comparing with preference scoring approach and random selection.

  • Since the ending of the IMF period, the Korean health industry has experienced a number of changes in its environment such as hospital bankruptcy, enforcement of SDF(Separation of Dispensing and Prescription), opening of the medical market by WHO, evaluation of medical institutions with more than 100 sick beds, and limited approval for medical service advertisement. Furthermore, the concept of medical service has changed from a beneficent and vortical one to a hi lateral and righteous one. These changes in medical service have required medical institutions to provide customers with medical service options and adopt market principles actively, while considering customer satisfaction. Thus, this paper aims to investigate the service quality and service value of medical institutions, to understand the mutual relationship between customer satisfaction and repeat visits, and to suggest better solutions for the improvement of service quality. For future studies, It will be necessary to overcome the limitations of this research and develop proper measurement tools on service quality in the Korean medical system.

  • This study investigate the role of consumer's perception of quality in new technology adoption process in China which is given little attention in the field of Information System and Communication Technology. Here, we developed a simple model in the level of consumer perception by exploring the antecedent of perceived quality. Three factors are introduced as determinants of perceived quality: perceived usefulness, perceived risk and trialability. An empirical study is conducted with analysis of the adoption mechanism of a new innovative product. Data analysis results support some of our proposed hypotheses. It indicates that perceived quality is positively related to the adoption intention and fully mediates the relationship between triablility and purchase intention. And we conclude that a product's perceived quality plays an important role in adoption intention. And what makes Chinese customers perceive product's quality good is a trialability of a product. This suggests that when market managers plan to launch products in China, they need to craft an effective strategy based on the market system of the consumer especially understanding the consumers' critical factor for adopting a new product. Chinese are more interested to purchase a product with free trial and free experiential period, therefore, suggesting an advertisement highlighting the trialability of a product is possible in China.
