개미 시스템을 기반으로 한 Ad hoc 네트워크 멀티캐스팅 (Ad hoc Network Multicasting Algorithm Based on An Ant System)

  • This paper proposes a novel multicasting algorithm, called ANMAS (Ad hoc Network Multicasting with Ant System), for Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). The algorithm utilizes the indirect communication method of the ants via 'pheromone' to effectively obtain dynamical topology change information, generating safer multicasting paths, and adapts the well-known CBT (Core Based Tree) multicasting algorithm into the ANMAS framework with proper modificiations to make 'tolerable' multicasting group in the MANET environment. We show the efficiency and the effectiveness of ANMAS via simulation studies.

An Implementation of Effective CNN Model for AD Detection

  • This paper focuses on detecting Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The most usual form of dementia is Alzheimer's disease, which causes permanent cause memory cell damage. Alzheimer's disease, a neurodegenerative disease, increases slowly over time. For this matter, early detection of Alzheimer's disease is important. The purpose of this work is using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to diagnose AD. A Convolution Neural Network (CNN) model, Reset, and VGG the pre-trained learning models are used. Performing analysis and validation of layers affects the effectiveness of the model. T1-weighted MRI images are taken for preprocessing from ADNI. The Dataset images are taken from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). 3D MRI scans into 2D image slices shows the optimization method in the training process while achieving 96% and 94% accuracy in VGG 16 and ResNet 18 respectively. This study aims to classify AD from brain 3D MRI images and obtain better results.

Effectiveness of BBV152 vaccine and ChAdOx1-S vaccine in preventing severe disease among vaccinated patients admitted to a designated COVID-19 hospital in India

  • Purpose: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly formidable disease. Globally, multiple vaccines have been developed to prevent and manage this disease. However, the periodic mutations of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 variants cast doubt on the effectiveness of commonly used vaccines in mitigating severe disease in the Indian population. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the BBV152 vaccine and ChAdOx1-S vaccine in preventing severe forms of the disease. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study, based on hospital records, was conducted on 204 vaccinated COVID-19 patients using a consecutive sampling approach. Data on their vaccination status, comorbidities, and high-resolution computed tomography lung reports' computed tomography severity scores were extracted from their medical records. Fisher's exact test and binomial logistic regression analysis were employed to assess the independent associations of various factors with the dependent variables. Results: Of the 204 records, 57.9% represented males, with a mean age of 61.5±9.8 years. Both vaccines demonstrated effective protection against severe illness (90.2%), with BBV152 offering slightly better protection compared to ChAdOx1-S. Male gender, partial vaccination, comorbid conditions, and the type of vaccine were identified as independent predictors of severe lung involvement. Conclusion: This study indicates that both vaccines were highly effective (90%) in preventing severe forms of the disease in fully vaccinated individuals. When comparing the two vaccines, BBV152 was slightly more effective than ChAdOx1-S in preventing severe COVID-19.

언어분석을 이용한 광고효과 탐색연구 : KLIWC를 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study on Advertising Effectiveness Using Linguistic Analysis: Focused on KLIWC)

  • 본 연구에서는 광고평가글을 이용해 광고효과를 측정할 수 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 온라인을 통해 연구에 참여한 대학생 384명을 대상으로 고관여와 저관여 제품의 긍 부정 평가 광고에 대한 광고평가를 자기보고식으로 측정하고, 광고평가글을 작성하도록 하였다. 작성된 광고평가글을 KLIWC으로 분석하여 긍 부정 평가 광고 간의 차이를 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 심리사회적 변인들 중 17개 변인들에서 긍 부정 광고 간에 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 9개의 언어학적 변인들에서 긍 부정 광고 간에 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 긍정정서, 부정정서, 제한, 확신, 신체상태와 기능, 수면/꿈 등은 광고태도, 제품태도, 구매의도와 유의미한 상관이 나타났다. 본 연구는 광고평가글이 광고에 대한 소비자의 심리적 반응을 반영하고, 광고평가글을 통한 광고효과 측정이 가능함을 시사해주고 있다.

지방자치단체 광고효용성에 대한 탐색적 연구: KTX 광고노출 환경을 중심으로 (Pilot Study for Analysis of TV Ads of Local Governments)

  • Along side with the rapid growth of local governments' advertising bills, there are few studies focused on the effectiveness of these ads. Especially one of the media being used by the local governments is the Korea Express Train (KTX), where they advertise in the train coaches' KTX video monitor. Unfortunately the ads in KTX are exposed without audio mostly. The current study, therefore, probed on the effectiveness of these ads. This study utilized transportation theory and content analysis methodology to give insight to its discourse. We established two analysis units (camera and subtitles), and then analyzed 107 local government ads. From the camera analysis, it is observed that local governments' festival and tour promotion ads more often employ dynamic angles such as drone shot and long shot. Also, from subtitles usage analysis, it is observed that many of the ads make use of large size titles and subtitles which could prevent viewers seeing visual shots. In the special case audio-less KTX ads, this study recommends emphasis on subtitles which will enhance the ad effectiveness of the ad messages.

Meditation for Alzheimer's Disease: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

  • Objectives: Interest in the use of complementary and alternative treatments to treat dementia. Meditation is used to treat various symptoms of physical and psychological diseases. Some studies suggest that meditation might have positive effects on cognitive functions, especially attention, in the elderly. However, how meditation affects Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients remains unclear. In this review, we assessed the effectiveness of practicing meditation in combination with standard care in AD. Methods: We searched the CCRCT, MEDLINE, EMBASE, AMED and CINAHL databases on 30 May 2017. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that used meditation in adult patients diagnosed with AD. We allocated patients to a meditation combined with standard care or a standard care-only group. Results: The two RCTs met the inclusion criteria. A total of 98 patients were included in the meditation with standard care and standard care-only groups in this review. All meditation programs in the included trials were based on practicing mindfulness. The results of our meta-analysis indicatedthat adjunctive mindfulness meditation programs exerted favourable but non-significant effects on cognitive function on the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) (MD=4.68, 95% CI -0.11 to 9.46; Z=1.92, p=0.06). Only one study assessed depression, anxiety, quality of life and stress. No adverse events related to meditation were reported in the included studies. Conclusions: Insufficient data iscurrently available to determine the effectiveness of practicing meditation on patients diagnosed with AD. Hence, further RCTs with high methodological quality and larger sample sizes are needed to effectively estimate the effects of meditation on AD.

Cooperation Models and Cooperative Routing for Exploiting Hop-by-Hop Cooperative Diver sity in Ad Hoc Networks

  • In wireless ad hoc networks, nodes communicate with each other using multihop routed transmission in which hop-by-hop cooperative diversity can be effectively employed. This paper proposes (i) two cooperation models for per-link cooperation (PLC) and per-node cooperation (PNC) for exploiting cooperative diversity in wireless ad hoc networks and (ii) a cooperative routing algorithm for the above models in which best relays are selected for cooperative transmission. First, two cooperation models for PLC and PNC are introduced and represented as an edge-weighted graph with effective link quality. Then, the proposed models are transformed into a simplified graph and a cooperative routing algorithm with O(n2) time is developed, where n is the number of nodes in the network. The effectiveness of the algorithm is confirmed for the two cooperation models using simulation.

Ad-hoc 망에서 채널의 부분정보를 이용한 스케줄링 기법 (A Scheduling Scheme using Partial Channel Information for Ad-hoc Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 Ad-hoc 망인 블루투스 시스템의 각 채널의 질 정보를 이용하여 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용하는 새로운 스케줄링 기법을 제시하였다. 특히 제시한 기법은 채널의 불균형한 환경과 여러 가지 특성의 데이터가 혼합되어 전송되는 경우, 특정한 채널에 데이터가 집중되는 경우에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 각 채널의 부분 정보를 이용하여 가중치를 계산하고 그 값을 GPS 알고리즘을 수정한 새로운 스케줄링 기법에 적용하였으며 NS-2와 블루학 시뮬레이션을 통해 제시한 기법의 효율성을 검증하였다.

외식기업의 유명인 모델 속성이 미디어 인게이지먼트, 광고효과 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Celebrity's Traits on Media Engagement, Advertising Effect and Purchasing Intention in Food Service Industry)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the role of celebrity's traits on food service enterprises' media engagement, advertising effect (AD effect) and purchasing intention. Based on advance research, structural model of relationship between celebrity's traits and media engagement, AD effect and promotion of purchase was developed among the proposed constructs. Few empirical studies have been conducted to test the model. Date collection of study was from June 1st, 2017 to June 30th, distributing total of 300 issues and collecting total of 290 issues. Total of 271 questionnaires were used as the final analysis data as the nineteen questionnaires included missing information. The results can be summarized as follows: Celebrity's Traits significantly affected media engagement, AD effect and purchasing intentions. More specifically, mediating effect among the celebrity's traits and AD effect which came from media engagement was valid only if the subject of advertising effectiveness was on brands attitude. Based on the findings, theoretical and managerial implications were discussed to make one conclusion. As the media engagement was identified as a mediator between celebrity's traits and AD effect, certain brands which tend to enhance their AD effectivity should liaison proper celebrity.

AODV 라우팅 프로토콜에서 재전송률을 낮추기 위한 ERS 알고리즘의 노드순회시간 계산방법 (Computing Methods of Node Traversal Time of ERS Algorithm to Reduce the Retransmission Rate in AODV Routing Protocol)

  • 에드 혹 네트워크에 사용되는 라우팅 프로토콜인 AODV(Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector)는 ERS(Expanding Ring Search) 알고리즘으로 경로설정 과정에서의 라우팅 패킷 재전송을 제어한다. 그러나 기존의 ERS는 라우팅 패킷 재전송의 기준이 되는 NTT(Node Traversal Time) 계산에 이동성이 높은 네트워크 상황을 적절하게 반영하지 못한다. 본 논문은 NTT 계산에 RREP(Route Reply) 패킷을 사용하고 출발지 노드와의 인접도에 따라 각 노드의 NTT에 가중치를 달리 적용함으로써 라우팅 패킷의 재전송률을 낮추는 방법을 제안하고 ns2를 이용하여 기존의 ERS와 성능을 비교한다.
