  • Science business park(SBP) has been formulated and developed for the purpose of economic development. In addition to the Daedeok Innopolis, cities of Daegu, Gwangju, and Sejong are considering making the SBP in now. Research Triangle Park(RTP) which was planned by the local government, industry, and academic leaders has been developed for 50 years and has planned the next strategy. This RTP experience is very precious to Korean cases and can be contribute to three cities and other regions. Key success factors of Korean SBP are as follows, research capability and talents, visionary local leadership and collaboration, creative business model, and quality of life.

  • This study focuses on the internalization process of service sector, especially on the foreign market entry modes of Korean healthcare industry. The paper examined the effects of country and firm specific factors, and strategic elements of the industry on the selection of foreign market entry modes by using multiple regression analysis. The findings indicate that firms' global experience and documented strategic assets have significant effects on the high control organizational types in the selection of entry mode while the other determinants including size of the firm were found to be less significance. This study provides the academic implications to the subject of the internationalization of Asian service industry and the practical reference to this highly specialized soft service sector.

  • This study develops a model for establishing and operating "Arts and Humanities Business Incubators (AHBI)" to improve the productivity in the field of arts and humanities, the major resource of the knowledge-based society. The AHBI is a center that provides general assistance to those who want to start a new business in the area of arts and humanities and continue to provide managerial consultation to those who graduated from the AHBI. This research provides systematically how to provide the hardwares such as office space computers and furniture, and how to supply the softwares such as management skills, financing, and marketing. This research indicates that the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Industry should develop AHBIs, and suggests that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism establish AHBIs in its Cultural Industry Incubation Centers. This research expects that government research institutes or professional institutes operate AHBI to create job opportunities for arts and humanities majors, to add the academic value of arts and humanities, and to vitalize the local economy.l economy.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate effects of participation in family leisure activity on school adjustment of middle school students. A total of six hundred questionnaires were distributed to the subjects, but only 587 questionnaires were collected. After excluding 12 questionnaires, 575 questionnaires were used for the analysis. An analysis of variance and independent t test were conducted using SPSS 18.0 for Windows and all comparisons were made at the p<.05 level of significance. The results showed that gender did not affect on school adjustment. There were significant differences in school adjustment by academic grades and family leisure activity participation(p<.05). It was concluded that participating in family leisure activity may be beneficial for middle school students to adapt their school life better.

  • This study was performed to determine the relationships between social supports and depression symptoms among high school students in urban areas. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 514 students located in Daejeon city during the period from April 1st to May 31th, 2010. As a results, the level of depression symptoms was significantly higher in proportion to lower level of social support of families and friends. And the level of depression symptoms was positively correlated with level of social support of families and friends. In multiple regression analysis, the factors of influence with the level of depression symptoms was sex, school grade, academic achievement, friendship with the school fellow, satisfaction of school life and satisfaction of family life. Especially explanatory powers to the level of depression symptoms increased by social support of families and friends. As a conclusion, the level of depression symptoms among high school students implies closely related with level of social support of families and friends.

  • This paper investigates the moderating effect of firm size on the relationship between environmental uncertainty and logistics information systems fit and performance, and suggests logistics strategies that would help to achieve goals. Based on our empirical research results, the findings of this paper can be summarized as follows: First, firms with higher levels of harmony between environmental uncertainty and logistics information systems fit featured significantly better logistics performance than firms with lower levels of fit. Second, logistical performance can be maximized based on the firm size and the harmonization between environmental uncertainty and logistics information systems. The results of this study will assist firms align and focus on improving competitive strategies for logistics systems.

  • Current support policies for multicultural families translate the focus on educating multicultural children from the initial adjustment of foreign-born brides. By contrast with Korean-born biracial/biethnic children of international couples, foreign-born immigrant children suffer linguistic and cultural differences. This study explores the acculturational difficulties and needs of school-aged immigrant adolescents in Busan Metropolitan city and suggests policies to meet their needs. Seventeen participants, including immigrant adolescents, immigrant parents, in-school service providers and out-school service providers, were recruited, and focus-group interviews were conducted. The major themes show that school-aged immigrant adolescents suffer from cultural/racial differences, different naming practices, linguistic differences, and age gaps. In addition, the study participants strongly call for KSL education, academic mentoring programs, career education, and education for multicultural understanding. This study suggests that future policies should be designed to support immigrant adolescents based on a diversity model beyond assimilationist approaches of adeficitmodel.

  • The accuracy of GNSS depends on several factors from the equipment used in data processing because GNSS positioning can be used differently depending on the accuracy required. In the case of the control point surveying requiring high accuracy, GNSS surveying is performed using the relative positioning method, and the observation time and data processing s/w are used differently depending on the class of the control points. On the other hand, the accuracy of academic software depends on the skill of the user, so it may be better to use commercial software in the case of a short baseline. In this study, the results of GNSS survey data were compared using scientific software and commercial software. The results showed that the horizontal position showed a difference of less than 2 cm and the height showed a difference of less than 5 cm. These differences were found to be in the error ranges specified in the unified control point survey regulations. Based on the above results, the commercial s/w can be used for GNSS data processing at the midterm baseline rather than the long baseline.

  • For the Navy to acquire the desired vessels in time, it is necessary to plan the schedule accurately for warships. On the other hand, until now, there has been only a subjective prediction of the period of warship construction through a survey by a group of experts. No academic studies have been conducted based on actual data. Therefore, this study presents a model for predicting the construction period of a warship through linear regression based on actual data. Experts first identified the factors that can affect the warship construction period. Actual data of the factors were collected, and regression analysis was performed to estimate the ship construction period. As a result, the key factors selected that influence the construction period of a ship were the number of operational test items, number and type of equipment, and the number and type of R&D equipment. The resulting regression model revealed 96.5% accuracy in terms of internal validity.

  • To verify confidence of the measurement such as Firm performance of Entertainment system, Cronbach's alpha coefficient were measured and showed 0.7 or higher alpha values. Feasibility of the measurement is also ensured by exploratory factor analysis. This thesis are formulated and analyzed as two little hypotheses to make certain that systematization of entertainment company influences on the performance. As a result, the two hypotheses are significant influential factors on the performance of entertainment company. The result are somewhat predicted because it was constructed by theories and preceding research which the researcher had already recognized. But this study was conducted to provide suggestions to establish a theory of entertainment industry by active follow-up studies for resolving will-less different results in this field due to a lack of the proceding research. And it is required to be established through the academic interchange among the similar studies.
