  • We find a general solution $f:G{\rightarrow}G$ of the symmetric functional equation $$x+f(y+f(x))=y+f(x+f(y)),\;f(0)=0$$ where G is a 2-divisible abelian group. We also prove that there exists no measurable solution $f:\mathbb{R}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{R}$ of the equation. We also find the continuous solutions $f:\mathbb{C}{\rightarrow}\mathbb{C}$ of the equation.

  • Let G be an abelian group, $\alpha$ an antisymmetric bicharacter on G and g a (G, $\alpha$)-Lie algebra. Here we give a complete proof for that the associated graded algebra determined by a natural filtration in the universal enveloping algebra U(g) is a (G, $\alpha$)-Poisson Hopf algebra.

  • We give a characterization for fundamental groups of graphs of groups amalgamating cyclic edge subgroups to be cyclic subgroup separable if each pair of edge subgroups has a non-trivial intersection. We show that fundamental groups of graphs of abelian groups amalgamating cyclic edge subgroups are cyclic subgroup separable, hence residually finite, if each edge subgroup is isolated in its containing vertex group.

  • This paper provides examples which can not be approximate fibrations and shows that if $N^n$ is a closed aspherical manifold, $\pi_1(N)$ is hyperhophian, normally cohophian, and $\pi_1(N)$ has no nontrivial Abelian normal subgroup, then the product of $N^n$ and a sphre $S^m$ satisfies the property that all PL maps from an orientable manifold M to a polyhedron B for which each point preimage is homotopy equivalent to $N^n \times S^m$ necessarily are approximate fibrations.

  • We show that for an M-action on a compact Hausdorff uniform space, if it has at least two disjoint compact invariant subsets, then it is thickly syndetically sensitive. Additionally, we point out that for a P-M-action of a discrete abelian group on a compact Hausdorff uniform space, the multi-sensitivity is equivalent to both thick sensitivity and thickly syndetic sensitivity.

  • Let f be a smooth G map from a nonsingular real algebraic G variety to an equivariant Grassmann variety. We use some G vector bundle theory to find a necessary and sufficient condition to approximate f by an entire rational G map. As an application we algebraically approximate a smooth G map between G spheres when G is an abelian group.

  • In this paper we find necessary and sufficient conditions for weak amenability of the convolution Banach algebras A(K) and $L^2(K)$ for a compact hypergroup K, together with their applications to convolution Banach algebras $L^p(K)$ ($2\;{\leq}\;p\;<\;{\infty}$). It will further be shown that the convolution Banach algebra A(G) for a compact group G is weakly amenable if and only if G has a closed abelian subgroup of finite index.

  • We prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of a Pexiderized exponential equation of mappings f, g, h : $G{\times}S{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{C}}$, where G is an abelian group and S is a commutative semigroup which is divisible by 2. As an application we obtain a stability theorem for Pexiderized exponential equation in Schwartz distributions.

  • We discuss the qualitative uncertainty principle for Gabor transform on certain classes of the locally compact groups, like abelian groups, ${\mathbb{R}}^n{\times}K$, K ⋉ ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ where K is compact group. We shall also prove a weaker version of qualitative uncertainty principle for Gabor transform in case of compact groups.

  • We describe some conditions under which the product of two groups with certain property is a group with the same property, and we describe some conditions under which the product of hopfian manifolds is another hopfian manifold. As applications, we find some PL fibrators among the product of fibrators.
