수용성 치자 색소의 추출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Extraction of Soluble Colorants of the Gardenia jasminoides Ellis)

  • The study was performed to obtain the optimum extraction conditions for crocin from gardenia fructus. Generally crocin is unstable on heat, light, acid and base solution. The extraction efficiency of crocin from gardenia depended upon the extraction time, extraction temperature, pH in the extraction bath and the optimum conditions of crocin extraction were determined as 60 minutes of extraction time, 4$0^{\circ}C$ of extraction temperature, pH 7 of extraction bath. The molar extinction coefficient of crocin was 12,515 and the color yield of purified crocin was about six times higher than that of non-purified crocin. The heat-stability at extraction temperature and lightstability in irradiation with xenon lamp for one hour of the purified crocin were higher than those of non-purified crocin. Intensity of &{\lambda}_{max}&of crocin was decreased by irradiation for one hour but UV-Vis. spectra of crocin was not changed. The colors of purified and non-purified crocin dissolved wit methanol was evaluated by means of CIE L* a* b* system.

  • Thermo-chromic Liquid Crystal(TLC) particles were used as temperature sensor for thermal fluid flow. $1K\times1K$ CCD color camera and Xenon Lamp(500W) were used for the visualization of a Hele-Shaw cell. The characteristic between the reflected colors from the TLC and their corresponding temperature shows strong non-linearity. A neural network known as having strong mapping capability for non-linearity is adopted to quantify the temperature field using the image of the flow. Improvements of color-to-temperature mapping was attained by using the local color luminance (Y) and hue (H) information as the inputs for the constructed neural network.

  • Mechanical and thermal analysis properties of carbon fiber/epoxy composite for train carbody were evaluated by varying with environmental factors such as ultraviolet, temperature, and moisture. Accelerated environmental aging tester was utilized for this study. Testing temperature was set to $80^{\circ}C$ and ultraviolet was obtained through xenon-arc lamp. To consider moisture, water sprayed on specimen for 18 minutes every 2 hour. All the specimens were made of CF1263/Epoxy composite. Mechanical properties such as tensile, bending, and shear properties were evaluated through a material testing system. Also, thermal analysis properties such as storage shear modulus, loss shear modulus, and tan ${\delta}$ were measured through dynamic mechanical analyzer. Finally surfaces of the composite exposed to environmental factors were examined using a scanning electron microscope. From experimental results, those properties of CF1263/Epoxy composite were shown to be slightly decreased due to environmental factors.

Design of Solar Cell Cooling System Using Convection Phenomena

  • We constructed a cooling system for solar cells using convection phenomena and investigated its cooling performance. The cooling system didn't need any driving power or water resources. The convection cooler manufactured with a right-triangle shape of an air duct was attached to the rear of the solar cell to confirm that cooling was performed using convection phenomena. When the ratio of duct width to attachment surface width was 3:7, and the ratio of entrance height and exit height of duct was 5:1, it showed the best cooling performance. Comparative experiments with solar cells without convection cooler showed that cooling effects from 16.5℃ to 20.9℃ occurred after 40 minutes exposed to the 1300W Xenon lamp condition.

  • Organic photovoltaic properties were studied in $CuPc/C_{60}$ and $ZnPc/C_{60}$ heterojunction structure by varying the organic layer thicknesses. Current density-voltage characteristics of organic photovoltaic cells were measured using Keithley 236 source-measure unit and a 500 W xenon lamp (ORIEL 66021) for a light source. From the analyses of current-voltage characteristics such as short-circuit current density, open-circuit voltage and power conversion efficiency, optimum thickness of the organic layer were obtained.

  • Ultra-thin films of organic charge transfer complex were prepared on a hydrophilic substrate by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique. In this study, the photoelectric properties of a LB film consisting of (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) complex was investigated. The visible light(${\lambda}$ : 700 nm) of xenon lamp was illuminated on the LB films and light absorptivity and photoconductivity were observed. The photocurrent increased linearly and was saturated at the light intensity of 23 ${\mu}W/cm^{2}$.

  • 본 연구에서는 면시험포와 cellophane film을 이용하여 xenon arc lamp 를 사용한 인공기후조 안에서 광선의 파장에 따른 강도의 변화와 변색을 조사하였다. Pyrex와 quartz filter를 사용하여 광선의 파장이 섬유의 성질을 변화시키는 중요한 요인임을 밝히고 first-order kinetic model을 사용하여 반응속도를 측정하였다. 또 면섬유의 황변현상을 화학적으로분석하여 파장이 긴 자외선과 가시광선의 영역에서는 황변과 동시에 표백효과가 있음을 알게 되었고 그 속도를 측정하였다. 세가지의 중요한 말단기분석을 통해 carbonyl기의 양이 제일 많고 carboxyl기와 peroxide기도 존재함을 분석하였고 또 이들의 양은 온도와 습도에 따라 변화하는 것으로 나타났다 Cellulose chain의 중합도를 측정하고 이를 cellulose bond scission과 연결시켜서 중합도와 섬유의 강도저하와의 관계를 연구하였다.

  • In this paper, aging characteristics of silicone rubber used for outdoor insulation have been investigated with regards to sunlight effect. For this purpose, silicone rubbers were aged under the artificial sunlight by use of xenon arc lamp(1500W) and various tests were performed such as tracking, breakdown, contact angle, stress, strain. And then, in order to elucidate the changes of material, analysis have been followed as follows; FT-IR, SEM and EDS. Regarding the effect of the sunlight, it was obs that the surface of test samples are severely da with decreased hydrophobicity, tracking resistan breakdown strength.

양친매성 스쿠아릴리움색소 초박막의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties of Amphiphillic Squarylium Dye Ultra Thin Films)

  • Ultra-thin films of amphiphillic squarylium dye were prepared on the hydrophillic substrate by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique. In this study, the photoelectric properties of a amphiphillic squarylium dye LB film was investigated. The visible light(${\lambda}$ = 684nm ) of xenon lamp was illuminated on the amphiphillic squarylium dye LB films and light absorptivity and photoconductivity were observed. The photoconductivity was nearly constant regardless of nominal layer number. The photoelectric properties of the amphiphillic squarylium dye LB films with bottom electrode showed better than that top electrode.
