Obtaining the complete trajectory of the object is a very important task in computer vision applications, such as video surveillance. Previous studies to recover the trajectory between two disconnected trajectory segments, however, do not takes into account the object's motion characteristics and uncertainty of trajectory segments. In this paper, we present a novel approach to recover the trajectory between two disjoint but associated trajectory segments, called goal-directed tracking. To incorporate the object's motion characteristics and uncertainty, the goal-directed state equation is first introduced. Then the goal-directed tracking framework is constructed by integrating the equation to the object tracking and trajectory linking process pipeline. Evaluation on challenging dataset demonstrates that proposed method can accurately recover the missing trajectory between two disconnected trajectory segments as well as appropriately constrain a motion of the object to the its goal(or the target state) with uncertainty.

In this paper, we propose a faster object detection and tracking method using Deep Learning, UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle), Kalman filter and YOLO(You Only Look Once)v3 algorithms. The performance of the object tracking system is decided by the performance and the accuracy of object detecting and tracking algorithms. So we applied to the YOLOv3 algorithm which is the best detection algorithm now at our proposed detecting system and also used the Kalman Filter algorithm that uses a variable detection area as the tracking system. In the experiment result, we could find the proposed system is an excellent result more than a fixed area detection system.
In computer vision, visual tracking method addresses the problem of localizing an specific object in video sequence according to the bounding box. In this paper, we propose a tracking method by introducing the feature correlation comparison into the siamese network to increase its matching identification. We propose a way to compute location of object to improve matching performance by a correlation operation, which locates parts for solving the searching problem. The higher layer in the network can extract a lot of object information. The lower layer has many location information. To reduce error rate of the object center point, we built a siamese network that extracts the distribution and location information of target objects. As a result of the experiment, the average center error rate was less than 25%.

This paper proposes an advanced visual tracking algorithm for the stable grasping of a moving target(2D). This algorithm is programmed to find grasping points of an unknown polygonal object and execute visual tracking. The Kalman Filter(KF) algorithm based on the SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) is applied to the visual tracking system for the tracking of a moving object. The KF based on the SVD improves the accuracy of the tracking and the robustness in the estimation of state variables and noise statistics. In addition, it does not have the numerical unstability problem that can occur in the visual tracking system based on Kalman filter. In the grasping system, a parameterized family is constructcd, and through the family, the grasping system finds the stable grasping points of an unknown object through the geometric properties of the parameterized family. In the previous studies, many researchers have been studied on only 'How to track a moving target'. This paper concern not only on 'how to track' but also 'how to grasp' and apply the grasping theory to a visual tracking system.
Multi-object tracking (MOT) is a vital component in understanding the surrounding environments. Previous research has demonstrated that MOT can successfully detect and track surrounding objects. Nonetheless, inaccurate classification of the tracking objects remains a challenge that needs to be solved. When an object approaching from a distance is recognized, not only detection and tracking but also classification to determine the level of risk must be performed. However, considering the erroneous classification results obtained from the detection as the track class can lead to performance degradation problems. In this paper, we discuss the limitations of classification in tracking under the classification uncertainty of the detector. To address this problem, a class update module is proposed, which leverages the class uncertainty estimation of the detector to mitigate the classification error of the tracker. We evaluated our approach on the VisDrone-MOT2021 dataset, which includes multi-class and uncertain far-distance object tracking. We show that our method has low certainty at a distant object, and quickly classifies the class as the object approaches and the level of certainty increases. In this manner, our method outperforms previous approaches across different detectors. In particular, the You Only Look Once (YOLO)v8 detector shows a notable enhancement of 4.33 multi-object tracking accuracy (MOTA) in comparison to the previous state-of-the-art method. This intuitive insight improves MOT to track approaching objects from a distance and quickly classify them.

In this study, we have proposed the tracking system of single moving object. The tracking system was estimated motion using differential image, and than track the moving object by controlled Pan/Tilt device of camera. Proposed tracking system is devided into image acquisition and preprocessing phase, motion estimation phase and object tracking phase. To estimation the motion, differential image method was used. In the binary differential image, decision of threshold value was used adaptive method. And in grouping the object area, block_based recursive labeling algorithm was used. As a result of experiment, motion of moving object can be estimated. The result of tracking, object was not lost and object was tracked correctly.

This paper introduces robust tracking algorithm for fast and erratic moving object. CAMSHIFT algorithm has less computation and efficient performance for object tracking. However, the method fails to track a object if it moves out of search window by fast velocity and/or large movement. The size of the search window in CAMSHIFT algorithm should be selected manually also. To solve these problems, we propose an efficient prediction technique for fast movement of object using Kalman Filter with automatic initial setting and variable configuration technique for search window. The proposed method is compared to the traditional CAMSHIFT algorithm for searching and tracking performance of objects on test image frames.
Conventional color-based object tracking using Mean Shift algorithm does not provide appropriate result when initial color distribution disappears. In this paper we propose a tracking algorithm that updates the object color sample when the color is changing. Mean Shift analysis is first used to derive the object candidate with maximum increase in density direction from current position. The color information of object is updated iteratively. The proposed algorithm achieves accurate tracking of objects when initial color samples are changed and finally disappeared. The validity of the effective approach is illustrated by the experimental results.

When a video surveillance system tracks a specific object, it is very important to get quickly the information of the object through fast image processing. Usually one camera surveillance system for tracking the object made results in various problems such like occlusion, image noise during the tracking process. It makes difficulties on image based moving object tracking. Therefore, to overcome the difficulties the multi video surveillance system which installed several camera within interested area and looking the same object from multi angles of view could be considered as a solution. If multi cameras are used for tracking object, it is capable of making a decision having high accuracy in more wide space. This paper proposes a method of recognizing and tracking a specific object like a car using the homography in which multi cameras are installed at the crossroad.

In the field of machine vision using a single camera mounted on a mobile robot, although the detection and tracking of moving objects from a moving observer, is complex and computationally demanding task. In this paper, we propose a new scheme for a mobile robot to track and capture a moving object using images of a camera. The system consists of the following modules: data acquisition, feature extraction and visual tracking, and trajectory generation. And a single camera is used as visual sensors to capture image sequences of a moving object. The moving object is assumed to be a point-object and projected onto an image plane to form a geometrical constraint equation that provides position data of the object based on the kinematics of the active camera. Uncertainties in the position estimation caused by the point-object assumption are compensated using the Kalman filter. To generate the shortest time trajectory to capture the moving object, the linear and angular velocities are estimated and utilized. The experimental results of tracking and capturing of the target object with the mobile robot are presented.
