  • Recently, remote controls for home appliances have been produced as many as the number of home appliances per household, and new home appliances are being released, but the number of new remote controls is continuously increasing due to their separate functions. Therefore, it is not inconvenient for first time users to use many remote controls because it is difficult and bulky. In recent years, the practical use of a universal remote control, such as large companies such as SAMSUNG and LG are producing a variety of forms. In this paper, we explain how to transmit and receive data format and infrared remote control through custom code identification method used in IR remote control for each company, and to see the size, characteristics and difference with ordinary remote control through ATmega128 remote control experiment. The ATmega128 can be used to control various home appliances displayed on the LCD. As a result, it can be seen that the number of remote controllers having only each function is reduced, and the integrated remote controller using ATmega128 Can handle household appliances.

  • This paper presents a CAN-based control system, which supports tole-operations over the Internet. As a result, CAN-based control systems are opened up for remote control, monitoring and maintenance using WWW-technology. Most of the system is written in JAVA because it is small, powerful package and can easily be reused in the whole system on different platforms and implemented in embedded system. The effectiveness of proposed method is demonstrated through the experiments using a CAN-based manipulator, which allow remote access for Web-based Java clients.

  • This paper is a matter of remote control apparatus and display remote control system comprising the same. The remote controller is a wireless remote pointing device that is included a function of mouse and a function of remote controller for VOD etc. It is assembled a sending signal part to communicate with display device, a image sensor part to capture a seen of front view and a main body. Also, it includes a control part that analyzes the captured image, calculates a relative moving factor that main body is moved by user, and then controls the mouse cursor on the display device. The remote control apparatus is able to capture a seen of front view, to analyze the captured image, and to move a mouse cursor point on the display device as much as it calculated relative moving factor. Therefor it brings down the cost of production by a product design that is increased user satisfaction. And it, using the patent and the new product design, will make an epoch in development of the remote control system for Ubiquitous broadcasting industry.

  • Indoor construction site such as building demolition sites, tunnel, vinyl house, and cattle shed are subject to various risk factors such as falling stones, soot and bad odors. However, most of the mini excavators have no cabin that can protect the driver from such risk factors. Therefore, researches on remote control technology of construction equipment are actively conducted as a method for protecting the driver from the risk factors occurring in the working environment. For effective remote control, it is necessary to be able to control the travelling and work using a portable small transmitter. However, due to the limitation of the size of the transmitter, complex operation control is required to control two or more actuators with a single joystick. Also, it is essential to check how remote control characteristics change in various environments such as distance, signal strength, obstacle. Therefore, in this study, an algorithm that can control two actuators simultaneously with a single joystick signal was developed, and a communication method suitable for indoor and outdoor mini construction equipment by analyzing experimentally how the remote control characteristics vary according to various work environments and telecommunication methods proposed.

HTTP based remote monitoring and control system using JAVA (HTTP 기반의 자바를 이용한 원격 감시 및 제어 시스템)

  • In this paper, It is studied to control and to monitor the remote system state using HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) object communication. The remote control system is controlled by using a web browser or a application program. This system is organized by three different part depending on functionality-server part, client part, controller part. The java technology is used to composite the server part and the client part and C language is used for a controller. The server part is waiting for the request of client part and then the request is reached, the server part saves client data to the database and send a command set to the client part. The administrator can control the remote system just using a web browser. Remote part is worked by timer that is activated per 1 second. It gets the measurement data of the controller part, and then send the request to the server part and get a command set in the command repository of server part using the client ID. After interpreting the command set, the client part transfers the command set to the controller part. Controller part can be activated by the client part. If send command is transmitted by the client part, it sends sensor monitoring data to the client part and command set is transmitted then setting up the value of the controlled system.

  • We introduce the concept of a remote distributed embedded system to integrated fieldbus based control systems in internet/Intranet. As a result, fieldbus systems are opened up for remote monitoring, remote maintenance, and remote control applications using state of the art Web-technology. This paper addresses the design of a remote distributed embedded system using Internet and CAN for multi-induction motor of Building and Industrial field. The fieldbus used the CAN based networked intelligent multi-motor control system using DSP2812 microprocessor. To build a remote distributed embedded system, the TCP/IP-CAN Gateway which converts a CAN protocol to TCP/IP protocol and vice verse, was designed. A experimental simulation system consists of a TCP/IP-CAN gateway in remote place and a command PC to be connected to Ethernet.

  • According to the advancement of web related technologies, many works on robots using these technologies, called web-based robots enables sharing of expensive equipments as well as control of remote robots. But none of the existing methods about web-based robots in-clude robot simulators in their web browser, which transfer appropriate information of a remote place to the local users. In this paper, a web-based robot simulator is proposed and developed to control a remote robot by using the web. The proposed simulator can transfer the 3D information about the remote robot to the local users by using 3D graphics, which has not been previously developed. Also, it sends the camera image of a remote place to the local users so that the users can use this camera image as well as 3D information in order to control the remote robot.

Utilization of Remote Sensing and GIS in Aggregate Control of Urban Impervious Coverage (도시의 불투수면 총량규제에서 원격탐사와 GIS의 활용)

  • This research is primarily intended to propose a new concept for aggregate control of impervious coverage using remote sensing and GIS. An empirical study for a case study site was conducted to demonstrate how a standard remote sensing and GIS technology can be used to assist in implementing the aggregate control for impervious coverage as intermediary between decision makers and scientists. Guidelines for a replicable methodology are presented to provide a strong theoretical basis for the standardization of factors involved in the aggregate control; the meaningful definition of land mosaic in terms of pervious areas, classification of pervious intensity, change detection for pervious areas. Detailed visual maps (e.g. estimation of impervious surface allowable) can be generated over large areas quickly and easily to increase the scientific and objective decision-making for the aggregate control. It is anticipated that this research output could be used as a valuable reference to confirm the potential of remote sensing and GIS in the aggregate control for impervious coverage.

  • This paper is concerned with a client-server architecture for the remote control of wind turbine system over the internet network. Recently the development of internet are study in remote area machine control, observation, remote control (teleoperation) automation industrial system in several fields. One of the important problems which should be solved in the remote control is an irregular time delay problem. This research practiced emergency system on-off experiment to Internet. Finally, we apply it to a wind turbine system that consists of a remote control and network via internet. It is experimented that real time of internet remote control and stability of wind turbine system.
