Ferroelectric Properties of Tb-doped PZT Thin films Prepared by Sol-gel Process (졸겔법으로 제조된 Tb-doped PZT 박막의 강유전 특성)

  • Tb-doped lead zirconate titanate(Pb(Zr$\_$0.6/,Ti$\_$0.4/)O$_3$; PZT) thin films on Pt(111)/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si(100) substrates were fabricated by the sol-gel method. The effect on the structural and electrical properties of films measured according to Tb content. The dielectric and ferroelectric properties of Tb-doped PZT thin films were altered significantly by Tb-doping. The PZT thin film with higher dielectric constant and improved leakage current characteristic was obtained by adding 0.3 mol% Tb. The relative dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of the 0.3 mol% Tb-doped PZT thin film were 1611 and 0.024, respectively. Typical value of the swichable remanent poaraization(2Pr) and the coercive filed of the PZT film capacitor for 0.3 mol% Tb-doped were 61.4 ${\mu}$C/cm$^2$ and 61.9 kV/cm, respectively. Tb-doped PZT thin films showed improved fatigue characteristics comparing to the undoped PZT thin film.

  • The two-step water splitting thermochemical cycle is composed of the T-R (Thermal Reduction)and W-D (Water Decomposition)steps. The mechanism of this cycle is oxidation-reduction, which produces hydrogen. The reaction temperature necessary for this thermochemical cycle can be achieved by a dish-type solar thermal collector (Inha University, Korea). The purpose of this study is to validate a water splitting device in the field. The device is studied and fabricated by Kodama et al (2010, 2011). The validation results show that the foam device, when loaded with $NiFe_2O_4/m-ZrO_2$powder, was successfully achieved hydrogen production with 9 (10 with a Xe-light solar simulator, 2009, Kodama et al.) repeated cycles under field conditions. Two foam device used in this study were tested for validation before an experiment was performed. The lab scale ferrite-conversion rate was in the range of 24~76%. Two foam devices were designed to for structural stability in this study. In the results of the experiments, the hydrogen percentage of the weight of each foam device was 7.194 and $9.954{\mu}mol\;g^{-1}$ onaverage, and the conversion rates 4.49~29.97 and 2.55~58.83%, respectively.

Synthesis and Characteristic of Ni/VSZ Cermet for High Temperature Electrolysis Prepared by Mechanical Alloying Method (Mechanical Alloying Method로 제조된 고온수전해용 Ni/YSZ cermet의 제조 및 특성)

  • Ni/YSZ ($Y_2O_3$-stabilized $ZrO_2$) composite powder for a cathode material in high temperature electrolysis(HTE) was synthesized by a mechanical alloying method with Ni and YSZ powder. Microstructure of the composite and cell thickness for HTE reaction has been analyzed with various techniques of XRD, SEM to investigate effects of fabrication conditions. Employing the composite material, furthermore, the unit cell for HTE has been studied to evolve hydrogen from water. XRD patterns showed that the composites after wet mechanical alloying were composed of respective nano-sized crystalline Ni and YSZ. While ethanol as additive for mechanical alloying increased to $20\;{\mu}m$ of average particle size of the composites, alpha-terpineol effectively decreased to sub-micro size of that. This study has been found out the evolution of hydrogen by HTE reaction employing the fabricated cathode material, showing 1.4 ml/min of $H_2$ generation rate as increasing $20\;{\mu}m$ of cathode thickness.

  • Sm-doped lead zirconate titanate($Pb_{1.1}(Zr_{0.6}Ti_{0.4})O_3$; PZT) thin films on the Pt(111)/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si(100) substrates prepared by a sol-gel method. The effect on structural and electrical properties of PZT thin films measured according to the Sm content. Sm-doping altered significantly dielectric and ferroelectric properties. The remanent polarization and the coercive field decreased with the increasing Sm content. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of PZT thin films decreased with the increasing Sm content. At 100 kHz, the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of. the 0.3 mol% of Sm-doped PZT thin film were 1200 and 0.12 respectively. The remanent polarization (2Pr) of the 0.3 mol% of Sm-doped PZT thin film was $52.13{\mu}C/cm^2$ and the coercive field was 94.01 kV/cm. The 0.3 mol% of Sm-doped PZT thin film showed an improved fatigue characteristic comparing to the undoped PZT thin film.

  • 본 논문에서는 카메라폰용 광학줌(Optical zooming)과 자동초점조절장치(Auto Focusing, AF)에 쓰일 초음파모터를 제작하였다. 초음파모터의 제작 및 시뮬레이션은 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ATILA 5.2.1(Magsoft)를 사용하여 디자인설계에 따른 구동특성을 고찰하였고 세자된 초음파모터는 한쪽 면이 없는 사자형의 탄성체를 제작하였으며 탄성체의 양쪽 다리에 각각 압전체를 부착하였다. 또한 압전세라믹의 조성은 $0.9Pb(Zr_{0.51}Ti_{0.49})O_3$-$0.1Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{1/3}Sb_{1/3})O_3$의 조성으로 설계하였고 시편의 제조는 7-layer로 적층하였다. 제작된 압전세라믹의 치수는 $6*2*0.35mm^3$ (길이*폭*두께)로 제작하였다. 또한 탄성체의 외형치수는 $10*10*2mm^3$ 제작하였으며 두께를 각각 0.3[mm], 0.5[mm], 0.8[mm]으로 변화시키며 제작하였다. 두께가 0.8[mm]인 경우 공진주파수 60.5[kHz]를 나타내었으며 초음파모터의 압전세라믹에 인가전압이 증가함에 따라 회전속도와 모터에 흐르는 전류는 증가하였다. 인가전압이 40[Vpp], 공진주파수는 60.5[kHz]일때 무게추를 달고 그때의 토크 및 효율을 측정하였다. 회전 속도는 토크가 증가함에 따라 거의 선형적으로 감소하였으며 효율은 토크에 따라 증가하다가 토크가 약 20(mNmm)일 때 약 28[%]로 최대치를 나타내었다.

Electrical Characteristics of Piezoelectric Transformer for Driving A 28W Fluorescent Lamp (28W(T5) 형광등 구동용 압전트랜스포머의 전기적 특성)

  • In this study, contour-vibration-mode Pb($Ni_{1/2}$,$W_{1/2}$)$O_3$-Pb(Zr,Ti)$O_3$ piezoelectric transformers for driving a 28W(T5) fluorescent lamp were fabricated to the modified filter structure with ring and dot electrodes which has been developed for application in 455kHz AM radios. The piezoelectric transformers were fabricated to the size of $31.5$\times$31.5$\times$2.5$mm^3$ with the variations of ring/dot electrode area ratio. Driving of piezoelectric transformer was carried out with input region for the ring electrode and output region for the dot electrode. The electrical properties and characteristic temperature rises caused by the vibration were measured at various load resistances. A 28 W fluorescent lamp, T5, was successfully driven by the fabricated transformer. The transformer with ring/dot electrode area ratio of 1.83 exhibited the best properties in terms of output power, efficiency and characteristic temperature rise, 30.95 W, 97.57% and8.3$^{\circ}C$ respectively.

$\b{W}$형 3-Loop 발전소에 대한 일체형 가연성 흡수봉 경제성 평가

  • 가압 경수로의 노심설계에 있어서 제한된 우라늄 자원의 효율적인 이용을 위한 다양한 방안으로 장주기 운전, 고 방출연소도 및 저누출 장전모형 등을 강구하고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 노심들은 원자로 운전주기 전반에 걸친 공간적 출력 분포 제어와 잉여반응도 제어를 위해 가연성 흡수봉을 사용하고 있으며 이와 관련 하여 가연성 흡수봉에 대한 전략등이 다 각도로 검토되고 있으며 다양한 노심에 대한 최적의 가연성 흡수봉 혹은 그 전략에 대해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 웨스팅하우스형 3-Loop 발전소에 대해, 장주기 (18 개월-480 EFPD), 저누출 장전 모형 전략을 채용하여, Er$_2$O$_3$, Gd$_2$O$_3$, ZrB$_2$의 일체형 가연성 흡수봉에 대한 노심특성 및 경제성을 평형노심개념을 적용, KNFC가 노심설계에 사용하고 있는 APA(ALPHA/PHOENIX-P/ANC) 8.0.0 코드 체계를 이용하여 평가하였다. 노심특성에 대해서는 감속재 온도계수, 첨두출력인자, 잔존흡수봉효과 및 노심 연소거동에 대한 평가가 수행되었고, 동일한 주기길이(480 EFPD) 에 대한 우라늄 적재량에 대해 원광비, 변환비, 농축비, 가공비 그리고 이자율 등을 고려하여 핵주기 경제성 평가 코드인 POCO 코드를 이용하여 경제성을 평가하였다.

A Comparison of Structural Characterization of Composite Alumina Powder Prepared by Sol-Gel Method According to the Promoters (졸-겔법으로 제조된 복합 알루미나 미분체의 첨가제에 의한 구조적 특성 비교)

  • In this research, composite alumina was prepared to add the various promoters by sol-gel method and examined its thermal stability. After sintering at $1,200^{\circ}C$, the thermal stability resulted in following order, $Si{\fallingdotseq}La$ > Ti > $Ba{\fallingdotseq}Ce$ > Y > $Zr{\fallingdotseq}Mg$, in accordance with adding the promoters. Especially in case of silica-added alumina, a phase transformation temperature to ${\alpha}$-alumina increased about $150^{\circ}C$ and after sintering at $1,200^{\circ}C$, it showed to maintain in ${\gamma}$-form and ${\delta}$-form alumina phase. Also it showed an increase of surface area from $3m^2/g$ to $71m^2/g$ compared with pure ${\alpha}$-alumina. In the case of silicaadded alumina, the characterization change of this alumina particle resulted in a delay of phase transformation because Si-O-Al bond was increased when sintered at high temperature. In case of lanthanum-added alumina, there was a sintering delay phenomenon in inter-particles as $LaAlO_3$ structure existed. The existence of lanthanum structure was confirmed by XRD and XPS analysis. It appeared on the alumina surface as $La_2O_3$ structure when it was sintered under $1,000^{\circ}C$, as the perovskite structure of $LaAlO_3$ at above $1,000^{\circ}C$ and as the magneto-plumbite structure of $LaAl_{11}O_{18}$ at above $1,300^{\circ}C$.

Microstructure and electrical properties of BSCCO tapes with ceramic barriers (Ceramic 코팅된 BSCCO 선재의 미세구조와 전기적특성 평가)

  • BSCCO tpaes with insulating ceramic barriers such as Zr$O_{2}$, $Al_{2}$$CO_{3}$, and Sr$CO_{3}$ were fabricated and their electrical properties were evaluated. Each filament was dip coated with ceramic slurries and then made 19 multifilamentary tapes by the “powder-in-tube” process. Microstructural investigation showed that filaments were completely decoupled each other and had a significant sausage effect. The critical current of coated tapes was reduced compared to that of non coated one, and its reduction was varied with the coating materials. For tapes with coated with Sr$CO_{3}$, the critical current was measured to be 7.2 A which was 44% reduction to that of non coated one. This reduction is believed to be due to the formation of sausage effect and non-uniform microstructure.
