The purpose of this article is to examine the change of employment expectation using the wave 7-11 (2010-2014) of Korea Education and Employment Panel(KEEP). The three main variables are the reservation wage, which has been studied by labor economists for a long time, the convenient working environment factor, the desired job factor. Last two of which are extracted from the 15 survey questions about employment expectation using the factor analysis. Our estimates suggest that male have a higher reservation wage than female while female have a higher level of expectation overall. Women attach more importance to working environment especially. Also, university students have a higher reservation wage and set a higher value on the desired job than employees and job seekers.
This study examines the perceptions on work-family balance and compares the differences of diverse groups in Korea. The success of work-family policies depends on employees' perceptions of both the tangible and intangible aspects of work-family supportiveness. A survey was conducted to produce a instrument that could measure the perceptions of work-family balance. The survey is a conducted random sample, with random selection of respondents who are working and over the age of 25 in Seoul and the metropolitan area. The research design employed ANOVA to compare the perceptions on work-family policies for supporting work-life balance in society. There was a difference in spillover levels between workers in different groups such as gender, employment status, age, the number of children, family type by employment status, company size, and industry. The findings will inform policy-makers as they continue to develop policies that positively affect working people.

This study was designed to assess the needs for nutrition education and educational materials for older adults. Two cross-sectional surreys were conducted. The first survey, conducted by personal interviews, was part of the large-scale elderly nutrition study. Subjects were adults aged 50 and over, recruited from 6 large cities and 8 middle-sized cities(n = 1,850). The second survey, done by mail survey using open-ended questions, was conducted with dietitians working at public health centers or hospitals(n = 53). Adults aged 50 and over were interested in topics such as healthly eating(32.1%), hypertension/stroke and diet(22.1%), osteoporosis and diet(11.4%), and diabetes and diet(9.2%). Television and radio(58.2%), health professionals(12.2%) and friends(7.9%) were common sources of nutrition information. Preferred topics of nutrition education and sources of nutrition information were different by general characteristics of subjects, suggesting that nutrition education or educational materials be planned considering the characteristics of subjects. About 70% of subjects indicated that they sometimes use or do not use nutrition information in daily lives, suggesting the need to provide more practical information. Among 53 facilities responding to the second survey, 73.6% provided nutrition education for older adults. Common topics for nutrition education included diabetes(39.3%), hypertension and stroke(19.1%) and general nutritional management(11.2%). These were consistent to the topics preferred by older adults. As materials In elderly education, dietitians wanted primarily to use leaflets and slides. Boards, booklets and posters were other commonly cited materials. For contents of elderly educational materials, dietitians mentioned the nutritional management for age-related diseases(33.8%), general nutritional management for older adults(25.4%) and practically applicable information(19.7%). They also suggested that nutrition education materials for the elderly should use larger print and attractive pictures, and be easily understood, as well as presenting simple, specific and practical information. These results provide baseline information for developing nutrition education and educational materials for older adults.

Purpose: This study was designed to analyze effects of learning organization on organizational commitment based on the MBTI personality type. Methods: The participants were 521 nurses working in the 4 general hospitals located in Seoul, Incheon and Kyunggido. The data were collected by self-reporting questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SAS program for descriptive and Stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: The most frequent identified personality type was ISTJ and the least identified personal types was ENFJ. It is differ to recognize the learning organization according to personality type. In an aspect of organizational commitment, the statistically significant learning organizational factors according to nurse's MBTI personality type is revealed slightly different. In other word, Shared Vision is a statistically significant factor in ISTJ, ISTP, ISFP, ESTJ and ESFJ. System Thinking is a statistically significant factor in ISFJ. Team learning is a statistically significant factor in ESTP and ISTP. Mental Model is a statistically significant factor in ISTP. Conclusion: As our results, the effects of learning organization on organizational commitment were different according to the nurse's MBTI personality type. So these results will be used to develop the more effective strategies to enhance nurse's organizational commitment using construction of learning organization.
As a result of surveying the process for sewing, the problems involving the outlook of sewn apparels were error off the standard dimensions and uneven sizes, which verifies the need for urgent technological guidance and development. On the other hand, the majority of the businesses were operating their sewing machines at the speed of 2,000 rpm or higher. Such a conventional working method may not well reflect the properties of the stretch fabrics, causing poorer quality products. Moreover, most of the businesses were using the ball-point needles which should be replaced with appropriate ones for stretch fabric. The types of feed dog which were used most were Drop feed, Union feed, Confound feed, Differential feed in their oder. Anyway, the automatized dog should urgently replace these inefficient ones for stretch fabric. Meanwhile, the types of presser foot which were used most were Plain foot, Teflon foot, Roller foot, Ring foot in their order, which also necessitates their replacement which Teflon foot. 2. As a result of surveying the process for finishing and inspection, while the causes scores less than 3 points, those due to pressers scored more than 3 points. This results suggests that a technological guidance is needed for the pressing work. Lastly, the causes of defect due to poor outlook attributable to such notions as button or zipper and those due to the uneven sizes scored more than 3 points, which suggests that the entire of needle works should be reformed through scientific research and technological guidance.
This study conducted a questionnaire survey of the current use status of central kitchen products on 198 dietitians and cooks working at a catering center of a company affiliated with group S in order to investigate the use state of the central kitchen products in catering. The largest groups of respondents answered that they use the central kitchen products once two to four days. As a reason to use it, the largest group answered that they used it because of the ease of preparation. In addition, the results show that the subjects often use sauce and processed vegetables among the central kitchen products. This study investigated the efficiency of cooking, hygiene and safety management of the central kitchen products. The results show that they have a large effect on shortening the cooking time. The quality control and service efficiency of the central kitchen products showed a positive reaction to the menu diversification and excellent quality but a negative reaction to the nutritious superiority. The operating cost efficiency of the central kitchen products generally showed a negative reaction except for the reducing effect of waste rate. As an improvement of the central kitchen products, the survey shows that the reduction in price and quality progress should be most urgently improved. Based on these results, the introduction of the central kitchen products into to the catering enables to standardize mass production, improve the taste and quality, cook without professional chefs and produce productivity increasing effect in the catering by the time shortening effect.
The purpose of this study was to validate abuse outcomes included Nursing Outcomes Classification(NOC) developed by Johnson and Maas at the University of Iowa. A sample of 71 nurse experts working in university affiliated hospitals participated in this study. They were asked to rate indicators that examplified the outcomes on a scale of 1 (indicator is not at all characteristic) to 5(indicator is very characteristic). A questionnaire with an adaptation of Fehring's methodology was used to establish the content validity of outcomes. The results were as follows: 1. All indicators were considered to be 'supporting' and no indicators were considered to be 'nonsupporting'. 2. 'Abuse Recovery : Emotional' attained an OCV score of 0.780 and was the highest OCV score among abuse outcomes. The highest indicator was 'demonstration of positive interpersonal relationship'. 3. 'Abuse cessation' attained an OCV score of 0.739 and was the lowest OCV score among abuse outcomes. The highest indicator was 'physical abuse has ceased'. 4. 'Abuse Protection' attained an OCV score of 0.743 and the highest indicator was 'plans for avoiding abuse'. 5. 'Abuse Recovery: Financial' attained an OCV score of 0.762 and the highest indicator was 'court-ordered benefits received'. 6. 'Abuse Recovery: Physical' attained an OCV score of 0.767 and the highest indicator was 'resolution of physical health problem'. 7. 'Abuse Recovery: Sexual' attained an OCV score of 0.768 and the highest indicator was 'expression of confidence with gender identity'. More outcomes need to be validated and outcomes sensitive to Korean culture need to be developed.
Objective: The outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) started in South Korea in May 2015 and the end of crisis was declared in December 2015 by Korea Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC). However, Zika virus emerged in less than 2 months following MERS and showed higher mortality than other countries. This study is to assess the current prevention system of overseas infectious diseases, based on MERS and Zika virus outbreak and to suggest effective response system for the future. Methods: We conducted two surveys on medical specialists working at tertiary general hospitals regarding the effectiveness of responding system by KCDC against MERS and Zika virus and education in individual medical institutions using 5-Likert points. Response system was examined in three different periods as initial period, spreading period, and post disease period. Results: Although medical specialists received the notifications in initial period, no practical prevention was proven to be placed in responding stage by medical facilities (averagely 3.5/5 points in total and sub-analyses). During spreading period, there were several academic seminars conducted, which were evaluated as helpful. In post disease period, all answered that there were changes on patient treatment in all medical facilities, with mainly report system and the treatment regulations in case of suspicious patients for infection. Only 49% respondents answered positive on the possibility of initial responses. For questionnaire items regarding Zika virus, all answered that there were notifications prior to the first outbreak of the infected patient. Eighty% of respondents were aware of 'the Guideline system for traveling to dangerous areas', and answered that the system was moderately effective (averagely 3.8/5 points in total). For the effectiveness of prevention measures for foreign novel disease by KCDC, the average point was 3.0 in both of total and sub-analyses. Conclusion: There is not enough response system to prevent infectious disease in medical institutional and governmental levels in Korea. It would warrant the modification of overall medical system to improve preventive measures for initial spread of such diseases.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the degree of role conflict and its ambiguity, and fatigue in clinical nurses and to analyze the effect of these on their self-resilience in order to provide fundamental data for improving their working environment after the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak. Methods: After the collection of data from 258 clinical nurses in five general hospitals, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression were performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0. Results: A significant positive correlation was found between nurses' role conflict and ambiguity and fatigue; while a negative correlation was found between nurses' role conflict and ambiguity and self-resilience. A significant negative correlation was found between fatigue and self-resilience. According to the study results, the factor that affected clinical nurses' self-resilience the most was role conflict and its ambiguity, followed by marital status, fatigue, educational level, religion, and related tasks, which together accounted for 38% of self-resilience in clinical nurses. Conclusion: To improve weaknesses in nursing care after the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak, the scope of nursing care was changed upon the expansion of integrated nursing and care-giving services. Therefore, in the rapidly changing environment of nursing, policies to improve nursing performance, as well as successful reaction capability, are suggested.
