The purpose of this study was to provide data for development of child-care programs. For this purpose, mothers' demands were investigated. The subjects included 403 mothers with children enrolled in child-care centers located in Yangju city, Gyeonggi-do. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, cross tabs, t-test, and F-test. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, satisfaction with child-care centers was positive. Second, the major reasons for dissatisfaction with child-care centers came from facilities and program contents of inferior quality. Third, mothers emphasized the importance of teachers' role and social-emotional development as quality criteria for child-care programs. There were differences in mothers' demands according to their demographic characteristics.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and differentiation of self, and to identify the degree of self-esteem and differentiation of self. Data were collected from 151 elementary school students using community child center. Factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and cluster analysis were performed. The results of the study are as follows: First, as a result of factor analysis, differentiation of self was classified into differentiation of internal mind, other's and self oriented. Self-esteem was classified into isolation, achievement, relation, and daunted. Second, regression analysis indicated that there was obvious relationship between self-esteem and the differentiation of self. Third, cluster analysis showed that 37.6% of children belonged to cluster 2 with achievement and relation patterns and self-oriented differentiation. Forty-three percent were belonged to cluster 1 with isolated and daunted self-esteem as well as internal mind and other's oriented differentiation. In cluster 3, 19.4% were belonged and their levels of self-esteem and the differentiation of self were very low. Findings indicate that for those children belonged to cluster 1 and 3, programs to raise the self-esteem of children and parental education are needed.
The purpose of this study is to present the mental model of young adolescents' media environment and the use and to provide several educational suggestions drawing on the revealed model. For this, the data were collected through 4 activities such as interview, picture drawings, word association experiment, and sentence completion task with ten 4-5th graders in elementary schools; they were qualitatively analyzed by 2 researchers. First, the meaning components driven by sentence completion task, word association experiment were totally 6 components: media device, connection(alienation), competence(provision), entertainment, adverse effects, ambilaterality. Second, the components of media mental model driven by pictures were 4 components: functions/competence, entertainment, conflict with paper books/sharing, harmfulness/ambilaterality. Third, the components from interview consisted of conflict between paper books and electronic media, communication-centeredness, fear(addiction) and users' qualification. Based on those results, careful examination in cyber talk, necessity of addiction prevention, active development of learning media and their balanced utilization with books, and healthful media literacy education and reinforcement of critical thinking were suggested.
This study is to investigate the correlation of the period of child care support agency and child language cognitive development and to lead the development of the child in a positive side. For this purpose, Korea Children's Panel's 2012 data by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) were used, selected 913 children of total 1703 parts. The result was derived from the results of frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple linear regression analysis. Analysis result, there was significant correlation between the period of child care support agency and child language cognitive development, and the longer the period of child care supper agency was the better child language cognitive development. Applying this results in health policy to expand the 'Free Childcare Policy', it will be higher for young child language and cognitive development.

Purpose: this study was carried out to identify family environmental factors related to changes in sexual attitudes through a sexuality education based on correct sexual attitude for middle school students. Methods: The subjects were 141 students (67 boys and 74 girls) in 4 classes of the first grade of a coeducational middle school, in Seoul. The school nurse provided the sexuality education for 18 hours over 16 weeks. Results: After the sexuality education, there was a significant increase in sexual attitude(t=59.06, p<.001). For family environmental factors related to changes in sexual attitude,'relationship with parents' was a significant factor for both boys and girls. For the girls, there were many other related factors such as 'parents' openness', 'family structure', and 'economic status'. Significant factors were 'Family structure' for attitude to abortion and 'parents' openness' for attitude to intercourse before marriage. Conclusions: Based on these results, systematic sexuality education is needed to enhance correct sexual attitudes in youth. To increase the effect of sexuality education, it should include contents to improve relationships with patents. Also, for parents, programs to improve relationships with their children and to change the values such as openness may also be required.

The algorithm is a chain of mechanical procedures, capable of solving a problem. In modern mathematics educations, the teaching algorithm is performing an important role, even though contracted than in the past. The conspicuous characteristic of current elementary mathematics textbook's manner of manipulating multiplication algorithm is exceeding converge to 'standard algorithm.' But there are many algorithm other than standard algorithm in calculating multiplication, and this diversity is important with respect to didactical dimension. In this thesis, we have reconstructed the experimental learning and teaching plan of multiplication algorithm unit by making the best use of diversity of multiplication algorithm. It's core contents are as follows. Firstly, It handled various modified algorithms in addition to standard algorithm. Secondly, It did not order children to use standard algorithm exclusively, but encouraged children to select algorithm according to his interest. As stated above, we have performed teaching experiment which is ruled by new lesson design and analysed the effects of teaching experiment. Through this study, we obtained the following results and suggestions. Firstly, the experimental learning and teaching plan was effective on understanding of the place-value principle and the distributive law. The experimental group which was learned through various modified algorithm in addition to standard algorithm displayed higher degree of understanding than the control group. Secondly, as for computational ability, the experimental group did not show better achievement than the control group. It's cause is, in my guess, that we taught the children the various modified algorithm and allowed the children to select a algorithm by preference. The experimental group was more interested in diversity of algorithm and it's application itself than correct computation. Thirdly, the lattice method was not adopted in the majority of present mathematics school textbooks, but ranked high in the children's preference. I suggest that the mathematics school textbooks which will be developed henceforth should accept the lattice method.
This study tried to look into influences to parenting style, mother-child interaction, child interactive peer play, and problem behaviors according to employment status by objecting 1,614 mothers having young child and also using Korea Child Panel 6th Year data (2013) having been provided from Korea Institute of Child Care and Education. Regarding collected data, hierarchical regression analysis was carried out by using SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. First, as much as warmth parenting style of mothers and child peer play interaction were high regardless of mothers' employment status, child internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors appeared to be decreased. Second, there were differences between employed mothers and unemployed ones because mother-child interaction did not affect significant influences to child internalizing, externalizing problem behaviors in case of employed mothers, but child internalizing, externalizing problem behaviors were turned up to be increased as much as mother-child interaction was larger by affecting significant influences in case of unemployed mothers. Based on above finding, this study has a meaning in that it provides a basic data which could be actually utilized to parent education program in order to prevent various problem behaviors of children or child & family counseling field.
This study surveyed 60 early childhood teachers at the kindergartens and day care centers in Incheon Metropolitan City to examine the contents and extent of the teachers' knowledge on early childhood history education by using the definition map designed by Novak and Gowin(1984). To be more specific, the researcher asked the participating teachers through group meetings to draw the definition maps and analyzed them. The results were as follow. First, 11 categories for high level definition of early childhood history education used by early childhood education were identified, among which the most frequently used high level definition were 'life style' followed in order by 'culture/art' and 'great men.' Second, in terms of the average number of dependent definitions included in the given high level definitions, the largest was 'life style' which was followed in order by culture/art, activity methods. It means that the widest area of early childhood teachers' knowledge on early childhood history education was about 'life style,' while it shows that the extent of knowledge on teaching-learning methods was relatively wide. However, in the case of great men, although it was frequently recognized in the high level of definition it was not so in the dependent definitions, meaning the extent of their knowledge was rather narrow. Scholars explain that the higher the teachers' attention and knowledge about the content of curriculum the more options of teaching method they tend to employ to teach in a more extensive and diverged way. Therefore, in order to improve early childhood education, efforts should be more focused on deepening and systemizing the knowledge of early childhood teachers.
This study was proposed in obtaining basic data for an intervention programs of the stable child care by identifying the effects of support from the spouse and family on the child rearing among marriage immigrant women. Subjects consisted of 110 marriage immigrant women in Gyeonggi-do in December, 2014. SPSS/WIN 22.0 program was used for ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis to figure out burden and efficacy of child rearing through the general characteristics. The increased burden of child rearing was statistically significant with young age, lower level of education, low income and less spending time to raise their children by husband. Additionally, the increased efficacy of child rearing was statistically significant with young age and using two languages. The pressure of the child rearing showed a negative correlation with spouse support, income, and old age. The efficacy of child rearing had a positive correlation with spouse support, spending time to take care of their children by family, and ages. In the regression analysis, the burden of child rearing among immigrant women increased by old age (${\beta}=-2.097$, p<.05) and less time to raise their children by husband (${\beta}=-2.165$, p<.05). It is important to provide spouse and family support to encourage desirable child rearing behavior. These results may provide to improve intervention programs for child rearing among marriage immigrant women.
The number of young children who attend daycare center, preschool or kindergarten and are taken care of by teachers during a day has skyrocketed in Korea. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of the research on infant/child-teacher attachment in Korea. Thirty five studies (5 doctoral dissertations, 24 masters' theses, and 6 academic journal articles) published from 1993 to 2010 were analyzed in the matter of the publication period, the related variables, and methodology for analyzing the data. The findings are as follows: 1) More than two-thirds of the research were from masters' theses. The number of studies conducted in the late 2000s doubled compared to that in the 1990s. 2) Each study on infant/child-teacher attachment had at least one related variable regarding social, emotional, cognitive or physical development, but not language. The studies on infant/child-teacher attachment related to social development have rapidly increased in the late 2000s. 3) The majority of studies were conducted using quantitative analyses and Attachment Q-set version 3.0. Difference analysis and relational analysis were most frequently used in many studies. There was only one study which was analysed with the advanced statistical methodology. The implication for a future study was also discussed.
