유아의 놀이성 및 창의적 성격특성과 문제행동간의 관계 (A Study of Relationship between the Young Children's Playfulness, Creativity and Behavioral Problems)

  • 유아가 환경이나 또래와의 놀이 속에서 상호작용을 통해 획득하게 되는 놀이성과 놀이과정 속에서 나타날 수 있는 창의적 성격특성이 유아문제행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 부산광역시에 소재한 공 사립 유치원 7개원에 재원중인 만 3세, 만 4세, 만 5세 유아 남녀 429명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하였다. 놀이성 측정도구는 CPS, 창의적 성격특성 측정도구는 이경화(2013)에 의해 개발된 '유아용 통합 창의성 검사' 중 창의적 성격특성 측정도구만을 사용하였고, 유아문제행동 측정도구는 PKBS를 사용하였다. 자료분석을 위하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도 검증, t-검증, Scheffe의 사후검증, Durbin-Watson 값과 VIF 값을 확인하였고, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 유아의 놀이성, 창의적 성격특성, 문제행동의 간의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과는 놀이성과 창의적 성격특성은 정적인 상관관계가 나타났고, 놀이성과 문제행동은 부적인 상관관계가 나타났으며, 창의적인 성격특성과 문제행동은 정적인 상관관계가 나타났고, 놀이성과 창의적 성격특성은 유아의 문제행동에 영향을 미친다는 결과가 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 유아들의 창의적 성격특성 때문에 나타나는 행동들에 대해서는 문제행동이라고 단정 짓지 않고, 창의적 성격특성을 인정하고 창의성을 증진 시킬 수 있는 교사의 태도 관점에서 유아들을 존중하고 허용하며 수용할 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다.

어머니의 유아과학교육에 대한 인식수준과 상호작용수준에 따른 자녀의 과학적 탐구능력과 호기심과의 관계 (Young Children's Scientific Inquiry Capabilities and Curiosity : Effects of Mothers' Awareness of Science Education and Mutual Interaction)

  • This study examined the extent to which young children's scientific inquiry capabilities and curiosity are affected by their mothers' awareness about science education and their mutual interaction. Instruments were Levels of Mothers' Awareness about Science Education and Interaction with Children (Jeon, 2006), Children's Scientific Thinking Capabilities (Lee, 2000), and Children's Curiosity (Lee, 2001). Differences between high-and low-ranked groups were analyzed by t-tests. Results showed that children whose mothers displayed high levels of awareness about science education and mutual interaction showed better scientific inquiry capabilities and curiosity than children whose mothers did not display such high levels. By confirming the significant role of mothers in their children's science education these results can be an aid to parent education.

가정과 연계된 일상경험을 통한 수학적 탐구활동이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of family Related Mathematical Inquiry Activities Based on Daily Experiences on the Young Children's Mathematical Abilities)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of family related mathematical inquiry activities based on daily experiences on the young children's mathematical abilities. 38 three-years old children were selected from kindergarten in K City, Jeon-buk Province. Children were divided into 19 children for experimental group and 19 children for control group. And for the 5 weeks, the children in the experimental group participated in family related mathematical inquiry activities based on daily experiences. The Stanford Early School Achievement Test were used as both pre-test and post-test for the children's mathematical ability. And the data were analyzed by Independent-Sample t-test and ANCOVA. The results shows that the family related mathematical inquiry activities based on daily experiences had enhanced the children's mathematical abilities.

유아의 정보처리양식과 연령이 공간좌표인식능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Age and Information Processing Style on Abilities of Young Children to Understand Spatial Coordinates)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of young children's age and information processing style in understanding spatial coordinates. For sampling the subjects of this study, Korean version K-ABC Intelligence Test(Moon, Soo-Back, 1997)was conducted with 165 children aged 5-6 who were attending I and G kindergarten in D city. From this pool 30 children who possessed sequential processing style and 30 children who possessed simultaneous processing style were sampled. In order to analyze the understanding of spatial coordinates, a test tool was formulated according to methodology of Blades & Spencer(1989) which was modified. Acquired data was subjected to descriptive and comparative statistical analysis. The following conclusions were arrived at: Firstly, there was significant difference between 5-year-olds and 6-year-olds in understanding spatial coordinates. The 6-year-old group got statistically higher grades than the 5-year-old group in locating a point on the coordinate plane and reading the coordinate numbers. Secondly, there was significant difference between children's information processing style in understanding spatial coordinate. Children with high simultaneous-low sequential processing showed higher performance in locating a point on the coordinate plane and reading coordinate numbers than children with high sequential-low simultaneous processing. Thirdly, after verifying statistical significance of interactivity between young children's age and children's processing strength, there was significant interactive effects in both tasks.

  • 오늘날 어린이를 위한 도서관서비스는 많은 사람들이 매우 중요하게 인식하는 분야이다. 공공도서관의 어린이실 혹은 어린이도서관은 그 지역사회의 어린이에게 사회에 참여하고 기여할 수 있는 능력을 갖추고 평생학습을 수행할 있도록 지원해야 한다. 그러나 우리나라의 많은 공공도서관에 어린이서비스를 담당하는 어린이사서가 배치되어 있지 않은 상황이며, 따라서 제한된 인원으로 증가하는 사회의 변화에 지속적으로 대응하고, 모든 어린이들의 정보요구, 문화 및 오락의 요구를 만족시키는데 어려움이 많은 것이 사실이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공공도서관 어린이실 및 어린이도서관에서 어린이서비스를 담당하는 어린이사서들이 업무수행 과정에서 발생하는 문제점 해결과 서비스 향상을 위해 타 기관 혹은 다른 어린이사서들과 공식적 혹은 비공식적 상호협력 내용과 상호협력이 필요한 분야를 파악하여 효과적인 상호협력 네트워크 구축 방향을 제시하였다.

The Interactive Effects of Mothers' Reactions and Children's Temperament on 3- to 6-Year-Olds' Aggression

  • The present study investigated the direct and interactive effects of children's temperament and mothers' reactions to hypothetical vignettes of children's aggression on 3- to 6-year-old children's overt aggression (OA) and relational aggression (RA). A total of 317 mothers of 3- to 6-year-old children and 26 teachers from eight day-care centers and kindergartens were contacted. Each mother reported her child's background, assessed her child's temperament and responded to the Mothers' Reaction to Hypothetical Vignettes of Children's Aggression (MRCA) scale. Children's OA and RA were assessed by teachers. Results showed that high levels of children's surgency predicted children's OA and RA. Although mothers' reactions did not predict children's OA and RA directly, significant interactions indicated that mothers' restrictive reactions were more strongly related to children's OA for children with high levels of surgency and low levels of effortful control. In addition, mothers' responsive reactions were more strongly related to children's OA for children with low levels of surgency. This study demonstrates that relative contributions of children's temperament and mothers' reactions differ according to the form of children's aggression. It also shows that certain types and levels of mothers' reactions to children's aggressive behavior can be critical for children with certain types and levels of temperament in developing children's overt aggression. The findings of this study can be applied to building early prevention and future intervention programs for young children's aggression.

영역특정론과 영역일반론에 따른 유아의 인과추론 - 물리, 심리 영역을 중심으로 - (The Role of Domain-specific Causal Mechanism and Domain-general Conditional Probability in Young Children's Causal Reasoning on Physics and Psychology)

  • The role of domain-specific causal mechanism information and domain-general conditional probability in young children's causal reasoning on physics and psychology was investigated with the participation of 121 3-year-olds and 121 4-year-olds recruited from seven child care centers in Seoul, Kyonggi Province, and Busan. Children watched moving pictures on physical and psychological phenomena, and were asked to choose an appropriate cause and justify their choice. Results showed that young children's causal reasoning differed depending on domain-specific mechanism. In addition, their causal reasoning on physics and psychology differed by the developmental level of causal mechanism. The interaction of domain-specific mechanism and domain-general conditional probability influenced children's causal reasoning : evident conditional probability between domain-appropriate cause and effect helped children make more inferences based on domain-specific causal mechanism.

유아국악능력 검사도구 개발 및 양호도 검증 (Development and Validation of the Korean Traditional Music Ability Test for Young Children)

  • The purpose of this study was the development and validation of a test of young children's understanding and their ability to represent the elements of traditional Korean music. The test was reviewed by professional groups and modified by preliminary testing. In its final form, the Korean Traditional Music Ability Test(KTMAT) for 4- to 6-year-old children consists of 43 items covering understanding and ability to represent Changdan(Changdanhyung, Bak, Bbareugi and Semyeorim) and Garak(Eumjeong and Sikimshae). Item analysis, reliability and validity tests were statistically significant. The KTMAT is an evaluation tool that can be used as basic material for developing children's musical ability, and it can provide valuable information showing direction for children's Korean traditional music education.

3, 4, 5세 유아의 특질 유형과 정서가에 따른 특질 안정성에 대한 믿음 (3, 4, 5 Year-old Children's Beliefs about Trait Stability Based on Trait Type and Valence)

  • This study examined young children's beliefs about trait stability based on trait type and valence. Participants included 120 children (40 three-year-olds, 40 four-year-olds, and 40 five-year olds) recruited from 3 day-care-centers and 1 kindergarten in Seoul and Kyung-Ki province. Results revealed that young children's understanding of traits differed based on trait type and valence. Children demonstrated a strong belief that social-intention traits are more stable and harder to change when compared to internal-state traits. Young children's beliefs on trait stability were also strongly influenced by trait valence. They believed that negative traits are more likely to change for the better while positive traits have greater stability and are less likely to change over time.

도구 및 성인과의 상호작용이 유아의 인지수준에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Interaction with an Object and with an Adult on Young Children's Cognitive Level)

  • This study examined the effects of different interaction styles, that is, interaction with an object and interaction with an adult, on young children's cognitive level. Subjects were 150 5-year-old children. The task required children to predict the working of a mathematical balance beam. Seven cognitive levels were identified based on the logic of prediction. Data were analyzed by t-test, F-test, Duncan Test and Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs Test. Results showed that both interaction styles caused improvement in children's cognitive level, but when interaction with an adult was divided into two categories, i.e., interaction with the higher group and interaction with the lower group, the latter experienced decline in cognitive level. Regardless of sex, interactions within the Zone of Proximal Development and with the object were found to be effective methods for children's cognitive improvement.
