  • The Naeseong Stream as a tributary of Nakdong River has conserved the unique structure and function of a typical sand-bed stream ecosystem. However, it is expected to change the stream bed environments and then the fish fauna in the downstream of the dam after the operation of the Yeongju Dam from 2016. We collected fishes and investigated their habitat environments from 2014 to 2016 in the downstream of the Yeongju Dam under construction in order to monitor changes in habitat environment, fauna and community structure of fishes in the Naeseong Stream. The size of the bed materials increased immediately downstream of the Yeongju Dam under construction. Before the operation of the Yeongju Dam, Zacco platypus was dominated and Opsarichthys uncirostris amurensis, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Hemibarbus longirostris and Pseudogobio esocinus were sub-dominated according to the different sampling sites. Hemibarbus labeo, H. longirostris, Pseudogobio esocinus, Gobiobotia nakdongensis, Cobitis hankugensis and Leiocassis ussuriensis were found as a psammophilous fish specific to sand stream in the Naeseong Stream. At the downstream of the dam, the fish community was classified into a group of gravel-bed fishes such as Microphysogobio yaluensis, Coreoleuciscus splendidus and Coreoperca herzi and a group of sand-bed fishes such as Hemibarbus labeo, Cobitis hankugensis and Gobiobotia nakdongensis. These fish communities gradually tended to change from sand-bed fish community to gravel-bed fish community during the construction of the Yeongju Dam. Therefore, it is necessary to collect the baseline data for the stream ecosystem conservation in the sandy stream by continuously monitoring changes in the environment and fish in the downstream of the Youngju Dam.

  • Due to climate change, algal blooms frequently occur not only in Korea but also around the world, and the risk of toxicity of harmful algae has recently been issued. It is known that the representative harmful algae, cyanobacteria, are caused by the intersection of three factors: water temperature, residence time, and nutrients. In this study, water quality simulation was carried out using EFDC, a three-dimensional numerical model, to analyze the variations in water quality due to the decrease of residence time according to the opening of Yeongju Dam in Naeseong-Cheon. In fact, the concentration of chlorophyll-a in Yeongju Dam in the summer of 2021 was significant, exceeding the 'algae warning' for a long time based on the previous algae warning system. On the other hand, as a result of performing the simulation under the condition that the dam gate was completely opened, the concentration of chlorophyll-a was mostly reduced below the 'algae warning' level during the simulation period. It was confirmed that reducing the residence time by restoring the flow of Naeseong-Cheon is a way to immediately reduce algae in Yeongju Dam.

  • To obtain the risk assessment of hazardous materials in ginseng, the residues of heavy metals and organochlorine pesticides in samples on the Yeungju and Sangju are surveyed. Cd and Hg in ginseng on Yeungju and Sangju is not detected. 0.21 mg/kg of As, 0.39 mg/kg of Cr, 0.14 mg/kg of Pb, 1.83 mg/kg of Cu, 3.93 mg/kg of Zn and 0.43 mg/kg of Ni in ginseng on Sangju are shown. 0.25 mg/kg of Cr, 0.08 mg/kg of Pb, 1.11 mg/kg of Cu, 8.99 mg/kg of Zn and 1.15 mg/kg of Ni in ginseng on Yeungju are detected. As and Pb in ginseng on Sangju are 7.0% and 2.8% for Korea Food & Drug Administration(KFDA) advisory level, respectively. Pb in ginseng on Yeongju are 1.6% for Korea Food & Drug Administration(KFDA) advisory level. The heavy metals such as AS, Cr, Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn, Hg, Ni in soil on Yeongju and Sangju are range of 0-20% for with Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA) level. BHC isomer, DDT isomer and endosulfan isomer are not detected in ginseng and soil on Yeongju and Sangju, respectively. Finally, the assessment of hazardous materials of the heavy metals and organochlorine pesticides in ginseng on the Youngju and Sangju are verified the safety the level compare with tolerances level for Korea.

  • This study was applied to the PCA (Primary Components Analysis) for the sixteen table setting at the 2017 Yeongju local food contest. In this contest, we have developed a seonbibansang and a temple one-dish meal. As a result of the correlation analysis, the applicability and composition were 0.7980, harmony and taste were 0.7747 and easiness and composition were 0.7435. In the Primary Component $Y_1$, all the variables $X_1{\cdots}X_{10}$ mean that the quality of the food had positive values greater than zero. The second Primary Component $Y_2$ has a large positive value while $X_4$, $X_5$, $X_6$, $X_7$, $X_9$ have negative values. $Y_2$ is a value representing the sanitation variable, and can be considered a traditional and characteristic table setting natural to the native food in Yeongju. In addition, we developed an-hyangbansang and seonmyoaecheong food content by applying PCA factors (the elements of harmony, ease and sanitation). Table setting of an-hyangbansang provided energy 61.5%, protein 20.0% and fat 18.5% and seonmyoaecheong provided energy 62.7%, protein 15.4% and fat 22.2%. This satisfied the necessary amount of caloric nutrient intake that could be provided in a meal. Especially through story-telling, a modern interpretation - or rebranding - of local and traditional foods could make these traditional food products familiar to consumers currently. The developed table setting is felt to be conductive to the possible commercialization and introduction of traditional food into the mainstream commercial food service industry.

  • U-Pb ages were determined from the granitic rocks from central and northeastern parts of Yeongnam massif. Porphyritic granite of Seosang-myeon, Hamyang-gun near the boundary with Anui-myeon shows age of $225.4{\pm}4.1Ma$. Foliated granodiorites of Anui-myeon, Hamyang-gun and Sinwon-myeon, Geochang-gun are $195.6{\pm}1.8Ma$ and $194.2{\pm}2.4Ma$ old respectively. Granites from Hari-myeon and Buksang-myeon of Geochang-gun show almost identical ages of $198.4{\pm}2.5Ma$ and $194.6{\pm}2.6Ma$ respectively, while foliated granodiorite of Yeongju shows an age ot $171.3{\pm}2.3Ma$. Combining with previously reported results, Triassic granitoids were emplaced almost identically at ca. 225 Ma throughout the areas of Hamyang and Sangju oi Yeongnam massif and Baengnok, Jeomchon and Goesan of Okcheon metamorphic belt. There were significant gap of non-magmatism before the resume of granitic activities over the large areas of Hamyang-gun, Geochang-gun, Gimcheon-si and Seongju-gun from Triassic-Jurassic boundary to early Jurassic, 200-194 Ma. Igneous activity within the Yeongnam massif of this period has not been reported from the Okcheon belt or Gyeonggi massif and may reflect distinct tectonic environment. Around 170 Ma, when Yeongju granodiorite was emplaced, there were active granitic magamtism throughout the Yeongnam massif, Okcheon belt and also Gyeonggi massif.

  • In this paper, we deals with optimizing traffic signal timing in grid networks by using a network topology design method. Optimizing traffic signal timing includes minimizing delay time delay between departure and destination by interlocking straight traffic signal in the minimum spanning tree(MST). On the assumption that users of network abide by the paths provided in this paper, this paper shows optimizing traffic signal timing in grid networks. the paths provided in this paper is gathered by using Dijkstra algorithm used in computer networks. The results indicate minimizing delay time of passing through the grid network and interlocking traffic signal in the grid network.
