Objectives: The purpose of this case report was to propose Yangshimtang-Gamibang on three patients diagnosed with acute stress disorder. Methods: Yangshimtang-Gamibang was treated on three patients diagnosed with acute stress disorder after experiencing a traffic accident. The effects of Yangshimtang-Gamibang were evaluated through BAI (Beck Anxiety Inventory), NRS (Numerical rating scale), NDI (Neck Disability Index), ODI (Oswestry Disability Index), respectively, and quality of sleep was assessed with total sleep time and number of times waking up during sleep. Results: After the treatment, there was significant decrease in the value of BAI score, a measurement of anxiety, as well as the value of NRS, NDI, ODI, a measure of pain. Also, the sleep quality of three patients improved. Conclusions: The results indicate that Yangshimtang-Gamibang may have an effect on people with acute stress disorder who recently experienced a traffic accident.

This report describes the efficacy of using Yangshimtang-gamibang for a sleep disorder caused by a traffic accident. We treated a patient with Yangshimtang-gamibang for 12 days for sleep disorder caused by a traffic accident. To evaluate the results, we used the Korean Modified Leeds Sleep Evaluation Questionnaire (KMLSEQ) to measure sleep disorder. The degree of sleep disorder was also evaluated using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The generic health status was evaluated using the European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) scale. Improvements in the NRS and EQ-5D scale scores were observed after the treatments. The change in the KMLSEQ score indicates that the patient's sleep disorder was relieved. The results of this case study suggest that Yangshimtang-gamibang may be an effective treatment for sleep disorders caused by traffic accident.

Hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles is a disorder characterized by excessive sweating that occurs in the hands and feet and that cause severe psychological, social and/or professional disability. The pathophysiological cause is still unknown but the condition is related to over-activity in the Sympathetic Nervous System. We experienced four young patients with hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles that was thought to be initiated by emotional distress, nervousness, stressful situation and anxiety. In the point of Differentiation of Syndrome, this subject was diagnosed as consumptive fever of the Heart and a weakness of the Spleen and damp heat, and was administrated with Yangshimtang-Gamibang. After treatment of herbal medicine and acupuncture, hyperhidrosis and other symptoms of patients were improved.

Objectives: To propose Korean medicine treatments based on effects of Yanshimtang-Gamibang on three patients diagnosed with psychogenic dizziness. Methods: Korean medicine treatments based on Yanshimtang-Gamibang were applied to three patients diagnosed with psychogenic dizziness after experiencing a traffic accident. Effects of Korean medicine treatments based on Yanshimtang-Gamibang were evaluated using DHI (Dizziness Handicap Inventory), BAI (Beck Anxiety Inventory), NRS (Numerical rating scale), NDI (Neck Disability Index), ODI (Oswestry Disability Index), and EQ-5D (EuroQol-Five Dimensions). Quality of sleep was assessed with total sleep time and number of times waking up during sleep. Results: After the treatment, there were significant decreases in DHI and BAI scores as well as values of NRS, NDI, ODI, EQ-5D. The sleep quality of three patients also showed improvement. Conclusions: Korean medicine treatments based on Yanshimtang-Gamibang might be effective in people with psychogenic dizziness.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to report the efficacy of using Korean medicine treatment, for anxiety induced by chemotherapy and traffic accident. Methods: We treated a patient's anxiety with Korean medicine treatments (Yangshimtang-Gamibang, ear acupuncture, acupuncture, cupping, interferential current therapy, and herbal acupuncture therapy). To evaluate the results of this treatment, we measured the Beck Anxiety Inventory, EuroQol-Five Dimensions, Numeric rating scale, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index, total sleep duration, time duration to fall asleep, and the number of wake-up times during sleep. Results: Improvements of the Beck Anxiety Inventory, EuroQol-Five Dimensions, Numeric rating scale, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index, and total sleep duration were observed after the treatments. Conclusions: This study showed one case of a patient who received Korean medicine treatment for the anxiety induced by anticancer therapy and traffic accident, and improvement was observed.
