X-선촬영 조건에 따른 피폭선량 조사연구 (A Survey on Enterence Dose by Exposure Factors)

  • By analyzing each part of expsure condition and the status of an entrance dose which is exposed to patients, this study reached the following conclusion. Since there is no standard in setting up an exposure condition, the technology practiced in each facility varies tremendously, and the entrance dose increased especially due to the improper selection of screen and grid and the shortage of a total amount of filtration in leaching the standard filtration amount. Entrance dose was, generally, turned out to be $2{\sim}3$ times as much as that of advanced countries, and there was big difference between facilities ; approximately 52 times inlateral of cervical vertebrae, 35 times in A-P of femur, 33 times in chest A-P, and 11 times in lumber A-P. Therefore, to minimize the entrance dose of a patient with thegreatest amount of image information, acquirement of technological know-how necessary for standardization of exposure condition for each part can be an important research task.

관전압과 관전류량 변화에 대한 가상 그리드 소프트웨어(VGS) 화질평가 (Evaluation of Virtual Grid Software (VGS) Image Quality for Variation of kVp and mAs )

  • 본 연구의 목적은 가상 그리드 소프트웨어(VGS)의 유효성을 평가하기 방법으로 이동형 그리드를 사용하지 않은 상태에서 VGS를 사용할 때와 사용하지 않을 때(Without-VGS)로 구분하여 에너지와 피사체 두께에 변화를 주고 흉부 팬텀과 대퇴부 팬텀을 이용하여 영상을 획득하고, SNR과 CNR을 분석하여 VGS의 유효성을 알아보고자 하였다. 흉부 팬텀과 대퇴부 팬텀에서 관전류는 2.5 mAs로 고정하고, 관전압을 60 ~ 100 kVp에서 10kVp 씩 변화하여 X선 조사한 후 SNR과 CNR을 측정한 결과 흉부 팬텀에서 SNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 약 1.09 ~ 8.86% 높게 나타났고, CNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 4.18 ~ 14.56% 높게 나타났다. 그리고 대퇴부 팬텀에서는 SNR이 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 약 9.78 ~ 18.05% 높게 나타났고, CNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 21.07 ~ 44.44% 높게 나타났다. 흉부 팬텀과 대퇴부 팬텀에서 관전압을 70 kVp로 고정하고, 관전류량은 2.5 ~ 16 mAs에서 각각 변화하여 X선 조사한 후 SNR과 CNR을 측정한 결과 흉부 팬텀에서 SNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 약 1.49 ~ 11.11% 높게 나타났고, CNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 4.76 ~ 13.40% 높게 나타났다. 그리고 대퇴부 팬텀에서는 SNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 약 2.22 ~ 17.38% 높게 나타났고, CNR은 Without-VGS 보다 VGS에서 13.85 ~ 40.46% 높게 나타났다. 결론적으로 Without-VGS 보다 VGS를 사용할 때 SNR과 CNR이 높게 나타났다. 그러므로 이동형 X선 촬영장치로 검사를 해야 하는 경우 이동형 그리드를 사용하기 어려운 환경에서 VGS를 사용함으로써 좋은 영상의 화질을 얻을 수 있어 검사에 유용하게 사용될 것으로 판단되고, 이동형 X선 장치의 활용성을 증대시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

디지털 무선 검출기를 이용한 이동형 X선검사에서 영상품질 저하의 요인분석 (An Analysis of Factors That Affect Image Quality Deterioration in The Potable X-ray Examination on using Digital Wireless Detector)

  • 최근 무선 LAN통신 기능을 이용하여 보다 간편하고 빠르게 디지털 방사선 영상을 획득할 수 있는 디지털 무선 이동촬영장치가 개발되어 많은 편의성을 제공하고 있다. 응급 또는 중환자를 대상으로 시행하는 이동촬영(Portable)검사 특성상 발생할 수 있는 초점-격자 간 중심변위와 피사체의 검출기내 위치변위가 영상화질에 미치는 영향을 평가하여 디지털 무선 검출기의 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 사용된 장비는 Elmo-T6 Digital Mobile X선시스템(SIMAZU사), el' Tor($14{\times}17$"Wireless detector), 격자(10:1), Chest & head phantom을 사용하였다. 선량증가에 따른 후처리 영상과 초점-격자 간 중심변위와 두부팬텀의 위치변위 영상을 획득한 후 디지털 영상분석 프로그램 Image J를 사용하여 영상을 비교분석 평가하였다. 선량증가에 따른 영상의 변화에서 0.5 mAs의 선량에서는 영상이 거칠고, 적정선량인 1~2 mAs에서 시각적으로 영상의 차이를 알 수 없었고, 특히 2.5 mAs 부터 픽셀 평균값이 급격히 감소하여 대조도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 3 mAs 이상에서는 폐부분의 포화현상으로 대조도가 떨어졌다. Image J 프로그램을 이용한 분석결과 초점-격자 간과 두부팬텀의 중심의 위치변위가 커질수록 낮은 픽셀값의 빈도수가 증가하여 표면도의 윤곽형태가 사라져 대조도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 중환자의 특성상 환자 자세의 어려움, 움직임, 호흡 및 X선관의 변위, 촬영거리의 적용여부에 따라 영상화질을 변화시킬 수 있다는 사실을 방사선사는 정확히 인지하여 검사에 임해야 할 것으로 사료된다.

부산지역 의료기관의 흉부촬영 조건과 피폭선량에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on Radiographical Conditions and Exposure Doses During Chest Radiography at Medical Facilities in Pusan)

  • This study was carried out to investigate radiographical and operating conditions of X-ray units and exposure doses to patients during chest radiography, so that the results could provide basic data used for reducing the exposure dose and for providing the diagnostic information with better quality. The conditions and exposure doses of 100 X-ray units mainly used for chest radiography were examined and also 100 radiological technologists mainly handling those apparatus at 76 medical facilities in Pusan were surveyed using a questionnaire from October 1 to December 31 in 1995. The following results were obtained from the study : 1. It was found that most units were capable of taking a high tube voltage radiography by showing 67% of the units equipped with the maximum tube voltage of 150 kV, 94% with more than 500 mA for the rating capacity and 85% with the full wave type of a signal phase. 2. For actual chest radiographical conditions, however, 80% of the units were operated at $60{\sim}100\;kVp$ and only 14% at 100 kVp and over for the high tube voltage. 3. The average exposure time was less than 0.1 second, and eighty four percent of the units adapted the X-ray tube currents ranging from 200 to 300 mA, 80% the focus-film distances between 180 and 210 cm, and 63% the focus sizes of more than 2.0 mm. 4. Most units(98%) employed additional filters made of aluminum, 75% the thickness of filters less than 2.0 mm, and only 2 units the compound filters. 5. Ortho chromatic system was only adopted in 13% of screen film system for the units, and 73% used the grid ratio at 8 : 1 for the low tube voltage during chest radiography. 6. The average exposure dose of all X-ray units during chest radiography was $371\;{\mu}Sv$ with a difference of about 16 times between the minimum to the maximum, and $386\;{\mu}Sv$ both at hospitals and at health centers, followed by $380\;{\mu}Sv$ at general hospitals and $263\;{\mu}Sv$ at university hospitals without showing any statistically significant differences. In conclusion, since patients during chest radiography at medical facilities in Pusan exposed to high levels of radiation, it is recommended that appropriate added filters and grids necessary for the high tube voltage radiography and high-speed screen systems should be adopted and used as soon as possible in order to reduce exposure dose to the patients.

유아 두개골 방사선촬영에서 피폭선량 감쇄에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dose Reduction in Infant Skull Radiography)

  • 영 유아는 사건, 사고 및 교통사고 또는 질병으로 인해 머리에 골절 및 혈관파열, 피부에 상처를 받아 병원에 내원하여 영상의학과에서 머리 검사인 전 후(Skull AP) 및 측면(Skull LAT) 촬영을 받게 된다. 머리검사에서 성인 머리(Skull) 촬영은 격자를 이용하여 촬영에 적용하면 방사선 2차선을 제거하여 영상의 대조도를 높인다. 그러나 방사선 노출조건 중 관전압을 8~10 kVp 높게 주어야 하며 환자피폭이 증가한다. 본 연구는 영 유아 머리촬영시 격자(grid)를 이용하지 않고 동등한 영상을 얻을 수 있다면 피폭선량 감소 및 Grid Cut off에 의한 아티팩트를 방지할 수 있어 연구해 보았다. 연구자는 방사선계측기 이용 방사선선량을 측정 하고 의료영상평가 방법 중에서 주관적 평가(ROC,receiver operationg characteristic)을 해 보았다. 결과에서 격자를 이용하지 않고 촬영하면 환자 피폭선량 감소와 영상 평가에서도 영 유아의 머리 촬영시 격자를 이용하지 않고 촬영을 하게 되면 머리 전 후촬영에서 0.019 mGy 와 측면촬영 0.02 mGy 피폭선량 감소가 있었고 영상평가에서도 4점을 높게 받았다. 결론으로 병원에 내원한 영 유아 머리촬영은 격자를 이용하지 않고 촬영하면 피폭 선량 감소 및 영상 아티팩트인 Grid Cut off을 방지 할 수 있고 엑스선관 수명이 연장되리라 사료된다.

Investigation of the observed solar coronal plasma in EUV and X-rays in non-equilibrium ionization state

  • During a major solar eruption, the erupting plasma is possibly out of the equilibrium ionization state because of its rapid heating or cooling. The non-equilibrium ionization process is important in a rapidly evolving system where the thermodynamical time scale is shorter than the ionization or recombination time scales. We investigate the effects of non-equilibrium ionization on EUV and X-ray observations by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board Solar Dynamic Observatory and X-ray Telescope (XRT) on board Hinode. For the investigation, first, we find the emissivities for all the lines of ions of elements using CHIANTI 8.07, and then we find the temperature responses multiplying the emissivities by the effective area for each AIA and XRT passband. Second, we obtain the ion fractions using a time-dependent ionization model (Shen et al. 2015), which uses an eigenvalue method, for all the lines of ion, as a function of temperature, and a characteristic time scale, $n_et$, where $n_e$ and t are density and time, respectively. Lastly, the ion fractions are multiplied to the temperature response for each passband, which results in a 2D grid for each combination of temperature and the characteristic time scale. This is the set of passband responses for plasma that is rapidly ionized in a current sheet or a shock. We investigate an observed event which has a relatively large uncertainty in an analysis using a differential emission measure method assuming equilibrium ionization state. We verify whether the observed coronal plasmas are in non-equilibrium or equilibrium ionization state using the passband responses.

  • $Ag(Ta,Nb)O_3$ materials have a perovskite structure with a low loss tangent. These materials have been widely researched for their applications as high-frequency, passive components. Also, $Ag(Ta,Nb)O_3$ materials have weak frequency dispersion with high dielectric permittivity which gives them enormous potential for use in electronic components, including the filters, and embedded capacitors. Therefore, our research will discuss the structural and electrical relaxation properties of $Ag(Ta_{0.8}Nb_{0.2})O_3$ ceramics for device applications. We will investigate using X-ray diffraction to understand their structural properties and will analyze voltage dependent leakage current and timedependent relaxation behavior to understand their material properties.

Perpendicular Interpenetration of Independent Square Grid Sheets. Synthesis and Structural Properties of $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n$($Py_2L$=trans-1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene, 1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethane)

  • Novel coordination polymers of general form $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n\; (Py_2L=trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene$ (bpee), 1; 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpea), 2) have been synthesized by slow diffusion of aqueous solution of $Co(NCS)_2$ with ethanolic solution of appropriate spacer ligand, $Py_2L$, in a mole ratio of 1 : 2. X-ray analyses on both 1 and 2 have provided similar unit and infinite structures with space group Ibam. The local geometry around the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms is an octahedral arrangement with two NCS groups in trans position (N-Co-N, 180.0° (1); 180.0°(2)) and four pyridine units in propeller fashion. Each spacer ligand connects two cobalt(Ⅱ) ions defining the edges of a $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombus. The most fascinating feature is the occurrence of perpendicular interwoven of independent square grid sheets: this is, one molecular network is perpendicularly interpenetrated through the centers of the $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombuses of another independent network with all of the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms in a coplanar sheet. The physicochemical properties of the present unique structures were studied.

선택도핑을 적용한 Ni/Cu 전면 전극 실리콘 태양전지에 관한 연구 (Study of Ni/Cu Front Metal Contact Applying Selective Emitter Silicon Solar Cells)

  • The formation of front metal contact silicon solar cells is required for low cost, low contact resistance to silicon surfaces. One of the available front metal contacts is Ni/Cu plating, which can be mass produced via asimple and inexpensive process. A selective emitter, meanwhile, involves two different doping levels, with higher doping (${\leq}30{\Omega}/sq$) underneath the grid to achieve good ohmic contact and low doping between the grid in order to minimize the heavy doping effect in the emitter. This study describes the formation of a selective emitter and a nickel silicide seed layer for the front metallization of silicon cells. The contacts were thickened by a plated Ni/Cu two-step metallization process on front contacts. The experimental results showed that the Ni layer via SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDX (Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) analyses. Finally, a plated Ni/Cu contact solar cell displayed efficiency of 18.10% on a $2{\times}2cm^2$, Cz wafer.

X선 단순촬영에 있어서 신장결석의 출현에 관한 검토 (A Study on the Phenomena of Renal Stone in Simple Radiography)

  • This paper investigated on influence on the distinguishability of renal stone in the accordance with thickness of object, x-ray tube voltage and base density. In the relationship between object and renal stone shadow, object and tube voltage, the obtained results can be summarized as the following. 1. When thickness of object was thin, the distinguishability increased in base density $2.0{\sim}2.5$, but for adults was best shown in base density 1.5. 2. In the relationship between object and tube voltage, the distinguishability increased at lower tube voltages ($50{\sim}60\;kVp$), using grid. As mentioned above, it was thought that this method was very effective in describing the phenomena of renal stone in film density 1.5, tube voltages 60 kVp.
