  • This paper describes the development of the interactive hullform transformation program. This program has many hull transformation functions such as main particular transformation, deadrise generation, section characteristic transformation, local transformation and CB, LCB variation, etc. MBASTRANS adopted the GUI(Graphical User Interface) using the OSF/Motif based on the X-Window system and used X-PLOT and GLBAX which are 2 and 3 dimensional graphic libraries, respectively. The interface module cans generate the information of the hullform for the SIKOB package and the hydrodynamic analysis.

X-Rays through the Looking Glass: Mobile Imaging Dosimetry and Image Quality of Suspected COVID-19 Patients

  • Background: This paper aims to evaluate the clinical utility and radiation dosimetry, for the mobile X-ray imaging of patients with known or suspected infectious diseases, through the window of an isolation room. The suitability of this technique for imaging coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients is of particular focus here, although it is expected to have equal relevance to many infectious respiratory disease outbreaks. Materials and Methods: Two exposure levels were examined, a "typical" mobile exposure of 100 kVp/1.6 mAs and a "high" exposure of 120 kVp/5 mAs. Exposures of an anthropomorphic phantom were made, with and without a glass window present in the beam. The resultant phantom images were provided to experienced radiographers for image quality evaluation, using a Likert scale to rate the anatomical structure visibility. Results and Discussion: The incident air kerma doubled using the high exposure technique, from 29.47 µGy to 67.82 µGy and scattered radiation inside and outside the room increased. Despite an increase in beam energy, high exposure technique images received higher image quality scores than images acquired using lower exposure settings. Conclusion: Increased scattered radiation was very low and can be further mitigated by ensuring surrounding staff are appropriately distanced from both the patient and X-ray tube. Although an increase in incident air kerma was observed, practical advantages in infection control and personal protective equipment conservation were identified. Sites are encouraged to consider the use of this technique where appropriate, following the completion of standard justification practices.

A design of transmission-type multi-target X-ray tube based on electric field modulation

  • Multi-target X-ray tube is a new type X-ray source, and can be applied in many fields such as sensitive X-ray fluorescence analysis and medical imaging. In this work, we report an electric field modulation multi-target X-ray tube, which contains four targets (Cr, Ni, Au, Mo) coated on a Beryllium (Be) window. A four-valve electric field deflector was developed to deflect the electron beam to bombard the corresponding targets. Particle dynamics analysis software was employed to simulate the particle tracking of electron beam. The results show that the 30 keV electron beam could get a 6.7 mm displacement on the target plane by 105 V/m electric field. The focus areas are about 2 mm × 5 mm and 4 mm × 2.5 mm after deflection in two directions. Thermal behavior calculated by ANSYS shows that the designed target assembly could withstand a 10 W continuous power. The optimum target thicknesses and emission spectra were obtained by Geant4 when the thickness of Be window was 300 mm and the electron beam incident angle was 0.141 rad. The results indicate that this multi-target X-ray tube could provide different X-ray sources effectively.

SATELLITE'S LAUNCH WINDOW CALCULATION BY ASTRODYNAMICAL METHODS (천체역학적 방법을 이용한 인공위성의 최적발시간대)

  • We can launch satellites only at a certain time which satisfies special conditions, since the current techniques cannot overcome these constraints. Launch window constraints are the eclipse duration, solar aspect angle, attitude control, launch site and the launch vehicle constraints, etc. In this paper, launch window is calculated that satisfies all these constraints. In calculating launch window, the basic concepts are relative locations of the sun-satellite-earth system and relative velocities of these, and these requires geometric consideration for each satellite. Launch window calculation was applied to Kitsat 2(low earth orbit) and Koreasat(geostationary orbit). The result is shown in the form of a graph that has dates on the X-axis and the corresponding times of the given day on the Y-axis.

  • Control Chart is a powerful tool to detect that process is in control or out of control. CIM can have real effect when CIM involve automated quality control. A neural network approach is used for unnatural pattern detecting of control chart. The previous moving window method uses all unnatural pattern that is detected as moving time window. Therefore, It trains a large number of unnatural pattern and takes training time long. In this paper, the proposed method tests a small number of training unnatural pattern which modifies test data without repeating time. We shows that the proposed method has differences In training time and identification rate on the previous moving windows method. As results, we reduced training time and obtain the same identification rate.

  • Embedded linux system cann't take up the X-window-based GUI platform commonly used in PC platforms because of low performance in hardware. For the GUI implementation in embedded linux system, the lightwieight graphic library is needed, which supports simplified functions and the usage of little resource. In this paper, several of popular open-source graphic libraries are selected and evaluated for the adoption of an efficient library in the GUI implementation for multimedia embedded system requiring the simple and intuitional user interface.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-vehicle object detection algorithm using feature point matching that tracks efficient vehicle objects. The proposed algorithm extracts the feature points of the vehicle using the FAST algorithm for efficient vehicle object tracking. And True if the feature points are included in the image segmented into the 5X5 region. If the feature point is not included, it is processed as False and the corresponding area is blacked to remove unnecessary object information excluding the vehicle object. Then, the post processed area is set as the maximum search window size of the vehicle. And A minimum search window using the outermost feature points of the vehicle is set. By using the set search window, we compensate the disadvantages of the search window size of mean-shift algorithm and track vehicle object. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, SIFT and SURF algorithms are compared and tested. The result is about four times faster than the SIFT algorithm. And it has the advantage of detecting more efficiently than the process of SUFR algorithm.

Sound Insulation Performance of the Multi-layered Window Structures for the Express Trains (고속철도 차량용 다층 유리창 구조의 차음성능)

  • In this study, sound transmission loss (STL) is investigated on the multi-layered windows used in the KTX-sancheon and next generation HEMU-400x high speed train. Using TLOSS, which is developed as a special purpose STL analysis program, STLs of the multi-layered glass windows are analytically investigated and compared with the mass law result. Window specimens for the two train models are manufactured and intensity transmission losses are measured based on ASTM E2249-02. The problems in aspect of sound insulation are diagnosed on the two window models. The aim of this study is to provide useful data for the improvement of the interior noise in the high speed train.
