  • The number of shared offices has increased and changed within the flow of the era into various forms in recent days. Co-working spaces and related shared space businesses are growing fast, keeping pace with the trend recently. It is confirmed that the need of spaces grew 180% since 2015 to 2017. Most of the shared offices in Seoul are placed in Gangnam circle, it is verified that shared office is providing work, space, and community by visiting cases of foreign companies, domestic companies, local companies. Meanwhile, shared space can be categorized into serviced office, co-working space, virtual office, and daily office. It is to consider various target levels by leasing service or the difference of costs. It is divided into forms of dispersion, circulation, and concentration and is planned to increase the utilization of communities' traffic according to the allocation of shared office. The business is conducted network-centered. During the process of communication, members can get chances to exchange and build communities. They are making business ecosystem which they can coexist and grow together. Shared offices have a view of a solution to empty rooms and will last for a while, and it is expected that co-working system be settled as office space and giving people sense of belonging on their workspace.

  • A fast and inexpensive approximate analysis method to predict power output characteristics of the Stilting engines in a preliminary design stage was investigated. In basic equations proposed by Walker, typical temperatures of working fluids in expansion and compression spaces were treated as those of working fluids in heater and cooler respectively. While the temperature of working fluid in the expansion space was actually lower than that of working fluid in the heater, the temperature of working fluid in the compression space was higher than that of working fluids in the cooler. In this paper, the working fluid temperature of expansion space was treated as lower than the heater temperature and that of compression space was treated as higher than the cooler temperature. Also, according to them, the power output characteristics of the Stirling engine were evaluated with respect to the GPU-3 and 4-215 Stilting engines. The following conclusions were drawn from the analysis. 1. Using the available experimental data from the GPU-3 Stirling engine, it was shown that the approximate analysis predicts the brake power with a maximum error of 19 percent at 1, 000rpm and with a minimum error of 3 percent at 2, 000rpm. 2. The approximate analysis data which for the GPU-3 Stirling engine were much closer to the experimental data than those of adiabatic 2nd order and 3rd order analysis within 1, 500rpm to 2, 500rpm. 3. The approximate analysis data which for the GPU-3 and 4-215 Stilting engines were much closer to the experimental data than those of the Beal number analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a successful operating strategy of co-working space. Therefore, the operating elements were identified through a literature research. And then, verified through site investigation and interview of operation managers. We found out that the high level operating elements are 'Co-working management', 'Membership management' and 'Supporting management' And the low level elements of Co-working management are 'Relationship facilitation', 'Networking event & Party' and 'Community & Communication', Membership management's are 'Service diversity & Price plan', 'Promotion & PR' and 'Alliance & Partnership', Supporting management's are 'Space & Interior', 'Facility & Device, Solution' and 'Mentoring & Education'. And the questionnaire was designed and conducted to Co-working space operators through the AHP method. As a result of the collected data analyzing, the highest priority was the operational element 'Community & Communication', and 'space and interior' is next, 'Service diversity & Price plan' is the third. The results were discussed with the relevant experts and it presents the following operating strategies. First, to create an environment suitable to voluntary coworking is the most important element. In particular, good management of 'Community & Communication' should be considered as a high priority operations strategy in a coworking space. Second, interior and space utilization helps in making the environment and atmosphere conducive to coworking. Office devices and facilities such as IT infra, printer, fax, scan, paper...etc are also important elements. But the reason why these necessary items are given a low priority is that these items don't need any special strategy. Third, in order to create a stable profit, 'Service diversity & Price plan' should be the characteristics of each coworking space because it will attract and secure enough customers. This study is valuable, it could be a great guideline for coworking space in an early stage to adopt operating model and strategy

  • As the population of the aged and the disabled increases, the needs for universal design is also growing. Universal design is to design for diverse users including all ages from children to the elderly, the disabled and non-disabled, the pregnant, the tourist, and etc. This study is intended to develop the design evaluation tool and guidelines of universal design for applying to space design. In order to achieve this, four basic spaces in human living such as residential space, educational space, working space, and cultural space were selected. Then, the elements of universal design were chosen for each space. The numbers of areas in each space were 12 for residential spae, 5 for educational space, 6 for working space, and 6 for cultural space. Also, 60 elements of universal design for residential space, 53 for educational space, 36 for working space, and 46 for cultural space were selected. The field observation with photos and user evaluation survey were carried out for each space by using these elements. Finally, the elements and guidelines of universal design applied for spatial design were suggested. This consisted of 8 areas and 67 elements. This would be useful for designing space for all people.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the size of the temporomandibular joint space by the increase of the occlusal force on the working side and the non-working side during unilateral biting. For the study, 22 normal adults, age from 23 to 25, who had normal or class I molar relationship and had no symptoms on TMJ area and masticatory muscles were selected. Transcranial TMJ radiograph was taken during unilateral biting with the sensor of occlusal load measuring device (MPM-3000 ; Nihon Kohden Kogyo Co. Ltd., Japan) on 1st molar teeth of right and left side given to force of 0kg, 10kg, 20kg and 30kg respectively with Accurad-200(Denar Corperation's product). The radiographs were traced on the screen, with enlaged as 5 times. The size of temporomandibular joint space at anterior, superior and posterior compartment were measured with Dumas's method (reference line between squamotympanic fissure and the lowest point of articular eminence). The following results were obtained by this study. 1. The size of anterior TMJ space showed a tendency to decrease on the working side and increase on the non-working side by the increase of the occlusal force, but had no statistical significancy (P>0.05). 2. The size of superior TMJ space showed a tendency to increase on the working side and decrease on the non-working side by the increase of the occlusal force (P<0.05). 3. The size of posterior TMJ space showed a tendency to decrease on both working and nonworking side, but had no statistical significancy (P>0.05)

  • In today's knowledge economy, various schemes are being devised in order to attain knowledge and understanding in the most effective ways possible. In an office environment, spatial concepts that encourage 'smart working' is becoming more prevalent; therefore allocating of space according to the types of work being performed, ways to maximise the work efficiency, and furniture arrangement to accelerate liaison among the users are being carefully considered. Especially in a space where its members are encouraged to communicate and collaborate, the furniture within that space need to be attractive and practical for its users, as well as efficient and effective for the firm the service is being provided for. In this study, we aim to offer furniture design service that satisfies such demands of the present time. Thus, instead of merely following a standard design process in which one approaches a project from design planes to an outcome, various aspects of the working environment will be considered such as the relationship between the space and the users, their needs, and the features of work being performed within the space. After attentive research and analysis, the results will be put into production from the user's point of view in mind. This study is intended to propose furniture design that embodies the characteristics of integrated working environment that can facilitate efficient use of the limited working space, productivity among the users, and promoting valuable corporate culture.

  • The saying likely as "In the rapidly-changing outside management environment, the light-weighted body only able to survive" means the 'lightness' in working space, reducing expenditure for immovable property and unnecessary facility, and also means the flexibility of facility which is ready to cope promptly with the approaching situation. For such reason, as many enterprises do not support an individual workstation for each person but by introduction of sharing system, also reducing the area for working space, they have made the immovable property expense per person curtailed. Though the reduction of the immovable property expense that subsequently gained by merely decreasing of working space brings a remarkable effect of retrenchment, there is also a worrying opinion that because of the narrowed working space than before, or by disappearing of private space, a possible non-productive effect which let working enthusiasm falls down might be brought. By practicing such investigating method, at the first stage survey, the Satisfaction of non-territorial and territorial office user and the order of required improvement are figured out, also arranged the appraisal items as 6 factors in total, and all of the factors were being influenced to the entire satisfaction in statistically meaningful level.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the unit plan for home office which can substitute the existing unvaried unit plan in housing and homogeneous working space in office building through the recognition of necessity and possibility about whether home-basedworkandhomeofficecanbeformedornot. Based on the above contents of a research, the following conclusions were summarized; 1. The unit plan of home office was divided into 'jointly-used type' and 'independent-separated type' in accordance with the relationship between housing and working space, 'dwelling-emphasis type' and 'working-emphasis type' in accordance with the grade of ranks between housing and working space. And the universal validity which could accept properly the dweller's characteristics was drawn by the above classification of unit types. 2. The required characteristics in a unit plan for home office were classified into flexibility, privacy, efficiency, identity, amenity. And the analyzing system of planning methodology was assigned according to dividing interior components into space-functional, space-designing interior facts. The planning methodology would have to be considered on the correlation with each required characteristic. As a result of the study, through a planning of independent-separated type, In especial, 'vertical-separated type', it was certificated that vertical-separated type could satisfy a variety of required characteristic in space-designing as well as space-functional aspect.

  • In modem buildings, the concept of open-space plan gets more acceptance as it supports more flexibility for the internal space design. This open-space can be easily subdivided by internal partitioning to provide each individual working zone. Although the partitioning forms each physical working zone, its indoor environment could be different Iron what the occupants require. Especially the air movement and contaminant spread in each working zone could be blocked or distorted by the partitioning, which may produce unexpected change in ventilation performance designed.
