One of the most important capabilities for autonomous service robots working in living environments is to recognize and understand the correct context in dynamically changing environment. To generate high-level context knowledge for decision-making from multiple sensory data streams, many technical problems such as multi-modal sensory data fusion, uncertainty handling, symbolic knowledge grounding, time dependency, dynamics, and time-constrained spatio-temporal reasoning should be solved. Considering these problems, this paper proposes an effective dynamic context management and spatio-temporal reasoning method for intelligent service robots. In order to guarantee efficient context management and reasoning, our algorithm was designed to generate low-level context knowledge reactively for every input sensory or perception data, while postponing high-level context knowledge generation until it was demanded by the decision-making module. When high-level context knowledge is demanded, it is derived through backward spatio-temporal reasoning. In experiments with Turtlebot using Kinect visual sensor, the dynamic context management and spatio-temporal reasoning system based on the proposed method showed high performance.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of interaction using Wiki in communication-oriented classes taught by native teachers on the incidental improvement of productive vocabulary knowledge. Eighty two university freshmen participated in the study and they were divided into two groups. Thirty eight students(Process Group) received process feedback from the teacher while forty four students(Result Group) received result feedback. They were given a short movie project working in a group of four or five people to practice interaction between peers and between students and the teacher. Data were collected from one receptive and three productive vocabulary knowledge test scores. The results showed that interaction using Wiki was conducive to the growth of productive vocabulary knowledge incidentally due to continuous opportunities to use vocabulary. The students of process feedback group made greater gains of productive vocabulary than those of result feedback group. Based on these results, pedagogical implications are discussed.
This study examined nurses' knowledge about breastfeeding (biological signifiance) and their nursing activities for promoting breastfeeding overall deficiency of knowledge about breastfeeding (an average score 12.8 out of 20) and accordingly many nurses did not promote actively merits (preparation, technique, & frequency). We developed new instruments for the measurements of nurses' knowledge (20 items) and activities (30 items). The self-reports of 203 nurses showed of breastfeeding(average score : 65.5 out of 120). Nurses' Knowledge about breastfeeding was significantly related to age, rank of position, and number of nurse' own children promotion of breastfeeding activities by nurses was related to the size of services nurses working in a small or middle sized hospital promoted more breastfeeding activities than a large hospital other factors, such as number of children, also influneced nursing activities for breastfeeding eighty seven percent of the nurses reported that they did not have any in-service education for the breastfeeding. They ascribed reasons for not actively promoting breastfeeding program to the overload of their services and inadequacy of administrative systems.

A new classification system with 9 main categories and 56 subcategories for the Open Korean Knowledge Dictionary is proposed. The classification system setup is to prepare for the standard classification system to be used to manage effectively vast of terminologies which were published in the Open Korean Knowledge Dictionary and is meant to enhance the fifteen-year old classification system for the standard korean great dictionary to match up to the trend of the modern terminology. The new terminology classification system covering all the academic areas such as humanity, sociology, politics, science, medicine, agriculture, engineering, etc, is designed and proposed after investigating several classification systems. The classification system setup procedures follow as ${\circ}$ The classification system is designed and planed by both the classification system and the academic expert. ${\circ}$ Classification system design covers all the academic areas following National Science and Technology standard classification system after investigating several classification systems such as the National Research Foundation, National Science and Technology Standard Act, Ministry of Knowledge Economy. ${\circ}$ Poll and survey is made to collect comments from total 93 members of several academic areas. ${\circ}$ The poll result is reviewed among working group members and utilized to update the new terminology classification system. Reclassifications are made for the around 200,000 terms in electricity, computer, medicine, pharmacy, biology, and economics according to the new terminology classification system.

With the increasing incidence of AIDS, it is probably inevitable that nurses working in hospital and community settings will come in contact with patients with AIDS. Nurses, more than any other health care profession, are on the front line of AIDS patient care. The purposes of this descriptive study were to gather information about registered nurses' knowledge and attitude regarding AIDS. and to provide a basis for the development of continuining education programs for the nurse. Data was gathered in 1988 using self-administered questionnaires given to a convinience sample of two hundred seventy registered nurses from two university hospitals, school nurses and postgraduate students of nursing. Data was analyzed with SAS. The results were as follows. Above 90% of the nurse knew well about definition of AIDS and routes of transmission but nurses relatively lacked knowledge about transmission of HIV in breast milk(69.3%). Less than half knew that drug abuser(44.1%) and sexual partner with IV drug abuser(39.6%) are at high risk for contracting AIDS. Above 70% of the nurse showed reluctance to provide care for surgery. delivery of child birth and hemodialysis of patients with AIDS. The results showed that, given a choice. 41.7% of the nurse would refuse to care for AIDS patients and 48.3% claimed that they should have a right refuse to care for AIDS patients. Reluctance of nursing patient with AIDS appeared to be principally associated with general fear of becoming infected with HIV. 41.8% exhibited a sympathetic attitude toward individual AIDS patient. The study findings suggest that it is necessary to examine the correlations between knowledge and attitude and to develop continuing education programs that alleviate the fear of contagion of the nurse.
This study aimed to provide basic data for the enhancement of health behaviors by examining relations among cardiocerebrovascular diseases knowledge, attitude, health behaviors among male workers in their 30, 40s, and then understanding factors having influence on health behaviors. Targeting male workers in their 30, 40s working for companies in J & S cities, a survey was conducted by using tools for the knowledge, attitude, and health behaviors. The data were analyzed with SPSS Win 21.0 program. In the results, Knowledge and attitude showed positive correlations with health behaviors. As factors having influence on targets' health behaviors, there were the knowledge of cardiovascular, department, marital status in the order while the overall explanatory power was 14.8%. Based on this study, the educational implications of health behaviors for the prevention of cardiocerebrovascular diseases, and suggestions for the follow up research were presented.
The object of this study was to examine attitudes and knowledge of Korean dieticians about functional foods. We investigated their perceived knowledge and their attitudes regarding risks versus benefits, and recommendation about the use of functional foods; as well as their frequency of personal use, and the educational supports and training needs of dieticians. We developed a questionnaire to assess the dieticians' attitudes related to functional foods. This questionnaire was used for characterizing functional food-related attitudes on the basis of factor and reliability analysis in the following study. The questionnaires were distributed to 802 practicing dieticians working in Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo. A total of 244 respondents (mean age $34\pm5.7$ years) returned the completed questionnaires through online surveys. Descriptive statistics and ANOV A were used to analyze data. Fewer than $2\%$ of dieticians claimed themselves to be knowledgeable about functional foods, more than $79\%$ consumed functional foods more than once a week, and $88\%$ of dieticians expressed an interest in receiving training about functional foods. Dieticians had favorable attitudes about the rewards from functional foods but were not confident about the safety and usage recommedation of these foods. The level of knowledge and educational support at their universities about functional foods affected the dieticians' attitudes regarding the rewards from and recommendation about the use of functional foods. These results suggest a need for additional educational opportunities to facilitate a better understanding of the risks and benefits of functional foods and their proper usage. Dietetics professionals must adapt to changes in health practices through effective educational programs integrating sufficient knowledge about functional foods.
This study was to investigate the level of knowledge and adherence to EBP guidelines for hemodialysis among nurses in dialysis units. Self-administered questionnaire was used that data were collected. The sample consisted of 173 nurses who worked in hemodialysis units located in three different district areas in Korea. Using SPSS/WIN 20.0, t-test, ANOVA and Scheff's analysis were performed. About 98.8% of nurses in dialysis units had received education mostly from dialysis conferences or symposium. The knowledge score for EBP was 15.77 (out of 23) on average. Subjects with more than 8 years of work experience, master degree and those working in tertiary hospital showed significantly higher scores. Despite that there are internationally acknowledge evidence based guidelines for hemodialysis, the actual adherence to guidelines varies by experience, education level and types of hospital. The findings of this study can be baseline data for further research into development of strategies to enhance knowledge of hemodialysis nurses and utilization of EBP guidelines.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the food allergy-related knowledge, awareness, and performance of dietitians at children's hospitals, depending on whether or not they have a clinical dietitian certificate. Methods: A questionnaire survey was administered to 41 dieticians at children's hospitals registered as a part of the Korean Hospital Association. The survey consisted of questionnaires examining general characteristics, nutritional counseling-related characteristics, and food allergy-related characteristics (food allergy-related knowledge, awareness, and performance). We examined differences according to the status of clinical dietitian certification. Results: The proportion of subjects who were holders of clinical dietitian certificates was 48.8%. There were differences between holders of clinical dietitian certificates and non-holders as follows. Regarding nutritional awareness and performance, 'needs to provide nutrition counseling in children's hospitals', 'providing nutrition counseling services in working hospitals', and 'whether there is a nutrition counseling room' scored higher among holders of clinical dietitian certificates than non-holders. Holders of clinical dietitian certificates showed higher scores for knowledge of food allergy symptoms and food allergy management than non-holders. For food allergy awareness and performance, 'self-assessment of food allergy knowledge understanding level', 'awareness of open oral food challenge (OFC)', 'recognition of the need for education and counseling on food allergy for patients / guardians', and 'food allergy related educational experience' scored higher among holders of clinical dietitians certificates than in non-holders. Conclusions: Children's hospital dietitians with a clinical dietitian certificate showed high knowledge, awareness, and performance related to food allergies. It is thus necessary to employ a clinical dietitian for food allergy management in children's hospitals. In addition, training and conservative education are necessary for the management of food allergies for children's hospital dietitians.

This study was to investigate knowledge, attitude and the preventive behaviour of noise of workers exposed to harmful noise and to provide primary data for noise-exposed workers' hearing conservation and the prevention of noise induced hearing loss. Method: The subjects were 104 workers who participated voluntarily in the questionnaire. The instrument used in this study was knowledge, attitude and practice on noise-induced hearing loss tool by Rhee & Yi (1996). The data were collected from August to September, 2002 with a self-administered questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 win program for finding frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: The average age of workers was 35.9 and the current average year of working at the noise place was $5{\sim}$10 years. In the group of previous noise-exposed workers, they showed significant difference in preventive behaviors (t=4.087, p=.048). In the group of current noise-exposed workers, they showed significant difference in recognition and attitude of noise(F=4.707, p=.004). Also, the duration of wearing ear protection equipment(t=2.383, p=.019), the feeling of wearing ear protection equipment(F=3.602, p=.031) and comfortable sense of wearing ear protection (F=3.919, p=.023) was significant in the preventive behaviour of noise. Conclusion: Considering the results above, we can recognize that there are close relations among the knowledge, attitude and the preventive behaviour of noise. Therefore, it is necessary to develop education - programs for noise-exposed workers' better understanding of noise and preventive behaviors
