A Study on the Priority of Residential Choice Element by Middle-size City Residents (중규모 도시 거주자의 주거선택요소 중요도)

  • This study has analyzed the environmental characteristics of Cheong-Ju city and the priority of residential choice elements by residents. The results of analysis are as follows. 1) The rate of housing supply in Cheong-ju city is low at 80.2%, concentrated on small sized apartments. Furthermore educational and traffic facilities are much insufficient. 2) While residential choice in Chong-ju is heavily characterised by educational surroundings, it is less affected by both economy such as housing prices, the value of investments and accessibility to public transportations, distance to working places. 3) It is affected by residents' general characters like the sell age, life cycle, education level, properties, home ownership, number of room and type of house they want.

Design Optimization of an Impingement Jet on Concave Surface for Enhancement of Heat Transfer Performance (곡면에서의 열전달성능 향상을 위한 충돌제트의 최적설계)

  • In the present work, a numerical study of fluid flow and heat transfer on the concave surface with impinging jet has been performed by solving three-dimensional Reynods-averaged Naver-Stokes(RANS) equations. The constant temperature condition was applied to the concave impingement surface. The inclination angle of jet nozzle and the distance between jet nozzles are chosen as design variables under equivalent mass flow rate of working fluid into cooling channel, and area averaged Nusselt number on concave impingement surface is set as the objective function. Thirteen training points are obtained by Latin Hypercube sampling method, and the PEA model is constructed by using the objective function values at the trainging points. And, the sequential quadratic programming is used to search for the optimal paint from the PBA model. Through the optimization, the optimal shape shows improved heat transfer rate as compared to the reference geometry.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach to the development of the automatic vision system to examine and repair the steam generator tubes at remote distance. In nuclear power plants, workers are reluctant of works in steam generator because of the high radiation environment and limited working space. It is strongly recommended that the examination and maintenance works be done by an automatic system for the protection of the operator from the radiation exposure. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time recognition and examination of steam generator tubes in the proposed vision system. Performance of proposed digital vision system is illustrated by simulation and experiment for similar steam generator model.

  • A machine tool has some serous stability problem in the from of tool chatter during the cutting process. Chatter vibration deteriorates the surface finish, reduce tool and machine life, accelerate machine tool system component wear, and may lead to an unacceptable noise sound in the working environment. In this study, in order to moni색 of the chatter vibration on the cutting process, the behavior of spectral density of AE signal and principal cutting force signal has been investigated. Furthermore, its reliability from obtained the results has been studied to evaluate and confirm the proposed method with the application procedure and the experimental results.

  • This study attempts to understanding of outer space elements in a rural house through an analysis nouns for function definition phase in design value engineering. To choose main check objects, this study examines requests by rural dwellers and analyze function definition in design value engineering. The rural dwellers prefers that barrier free design, outdoor working space and security of calamity. Each selected elements are classified the nouns into a main noun by analysis function definition nouns at design VE phase. The nouns are reclassified into the main nouns as a distance, a space, and a form.

  • We propose a control method for mobile robot system using the bluetooth. The control packet is defined and used for control of the mobile robot. The control packet is composed of behavior components and has reserved packets for future working. The control packet has to be simple and provide commands to the mobile robot, since the bluetooth has a limited bandwidth. The data transmission rate and the distance, which can control the mobile robot in various circumstances, for example, corridor, yard, and room are measured by some experiments.

  • The main concepts in the design and construction of an motorized wheelchair for loading in the tar which is intended to drive a disabled to long distance. The wheelchair is basically a powered and folding, so it is designed to motorized manual wheel- chair by modularity method. The wheelchair hrs been installed with a power motor module, battery module, and drive & control module. The goal of this project is to develop a wheelchair that has multifunction and operated disabled who has variety impairment. So we ave currently working. Experimental results of the system approach our purpose, which is improved maneuverability, safety and can be loaded.

Optimal Conditions for Defect Analysis Using Electron Channeling Contrast Imaging

  • Electron channeling contrast imaging (ECCI) is a powerful analyzing tool for identifying lattice defects like dislocations and twin boundaries. By using diffraction-based scanning electron microscopy technique, it enables microstructure analysis, which is comparable to that obtained by transmission electron microscopy that is mostly used in defect analysis. In this report, the optimal conditions for investigating crystal defects are suggested. We could obtain the best ECCI images when both acceleration voltage and probe current are high (30 kV and 20 nA). Also, shortening the working distance (6 mm) enhances the quality of defect imaging.

A Study on the Lubrication Characteristics of Spool Valve with Spiral Groove (스파이럴 그루브가 가공된 스풀밸브의 윤활 특성 연구)

  • In this research, spool valves with spiral grooves are suggested and their lubrication characteristics are investigated by numerical analysis. The three-dimensional flow field is obtained by solving the Navier-Stokes equations in dimensionless form, so that the performance variables such as lateral force, friction force and volume flow rate are determined. Also, the lubrication characteristics of spool valves with spiral grooves are compared with those with typical grooves under variable working conditions. It is shown that spool valves with spiral grooves can get better performance in aspect of mitigation of uneven pressure distribution surrounding spool. Moreover, it is found that the minimum distance between spool edges and grooves, the type of spiral groove, and the groove angle have noticeable effect on the lubrication characteristics.
